What’s your baby’s nap schedule like these days? Anyone switch to one nap yet? How long is she/he awake for at a time? Tell me everything.

My little dude still takes 2 naps. He takes a 30-45 minute nap around 8:45 am. Then he takes his afternoon nap around 12:45 until around 2:30. Sometimes he sleeps until 3 but it’s rare. Bedtime is at 7.

If I get E to take a morning nap it’s typically about 40 minutes to an hour, and then her 2nd nap is also short and right at dinner time. So all in all not great. Might look like this:
8:30am Wake up (Awake 3 hours) 11:30am Nap 1 hour (Awake 4.5 hours) 5:00-5:30 Nap 30 min (Awake 2.5 hours) 8:00 Bedtime
If I have her hold out a little later, she takes one nap that’s longer. Like today for example:
8:30 Wake up (Awake 5.5 hours) 2:00-4:30 Nap 2.5 hours (Awake 3.5 hours) 8:00 Bedtime
The one nap schedule seems better for us since I’m assuming longer sleep = better than multiple short sleeps. But I know most babies are still on two naps at this age. Anyway, curious what others are up to!

marygracerich what time does he wake up in the morning? Maybe E doesn’t do as well with two naps since she sleeps late. (Just trying to figure out my baby)

We are on two naps still, he is 10.5 months. A normal schedule is like this:
Awake at 7:30 Nap from 10:00 to 11:30 Nap from 3 ish to 4:30 Asleep at 8 or 8:30
It differs sometimes though... but usually one nap is about an hour and the other is 1.5 to 2 hours. I'm scared for 1 nap days since I'm able to get more done during this time, lol!

And I know 6:30 is ridiculously early for bedtime, but homegirl just can't hang 😂 my first two went to bed at 7:30 or so but baby J turns into a gremlin at 6:30 on the dot every night.

My 3.5 year old goes to bed by 6:15 every day. She gets up for school at 6 and doesn’t get a nap time so she crashes at that time. It’s early but better than a cranky kid. 🤷🏻♀️

We’re still on two naps.
Wake-up: 6-6:30 Nap ~9 for 1.5 hours Nap ~2:30 for an hour Bed: 7:30-8
Sometimes naps are as little as 35 minutes, sometimes close to 2 hours. But typically they are an hour to an hour and a half. It’s up in the air if the morning or afternoon one will be longer.
He seems pretty happy and content, so no plans on trying to get him to drop a nap yet. He will be a year on the 19th.

We are on 1 nap during the week and 2 on the weekends mainly because we are on the go and she falls asleep in her carseat.
During the week: Wake around 7 Nap 12-2 or 1-3 Bed around 8
Weekend: Wake around 7 Nap in car for about an hour in the morning Nap in the afternoon (time varies) Bed around 8
Baby is still in our room in a bassinet that she is now to big for and I know I need to move her but I also know it's going to be a fight. DH is gone a lot at bedtime and my 3 year old is awful to put to bed too so maybe this weekend we will really try it and each take a kid. Pray for me!

We didn’t intentionally do it. The school program she is in doesn’t offer naps so we just sort of stopped giving them to her on the weekends too.

sarahh good luck!! This probably belongs in a confession thread, but J still sleeps in a PNP. She has her whole life 😬 we are planning on buying the big girls a bunk bed this month, so she should be transitioning to the crib soon. I hope your transition goes smoothly!!

I'm jealous of the early bedtimes. The baby is on a 2-3-4 schedule with an 8pm bedtime and the 3 year old goes to bed at 9. The 2 hour nap at daycare is a culprit.

She has been staying up later and later I think because of her 2 hour nap at daycare. On the weekends when she doesn't nap she goes to bed around 8.

Liv is dependent on the day. Her school is moving her to one nap during the week so life is a little difficult right now.

Two naps here! He wakes up around 7-7:30. First nap is around 9:30 or 10 & second nap is around 2. It all depends though. One nap is usually 2 hours & another is 1 hour. Sometimes the long one is in the morning & sometimes it’s the afternoon lol. Bedtime is 7:30-8.

The little is so easy. You’d think my 4yo would have his shit together by now but nope. Putting him to sleep is like pulling teeth. Nonni are here and taking his bed so that’s not really helping.

My kids are notoriously crap sleepers or need very little sleep, but thankfully baby does better. We still do two naps unless she sleeps until 9 or so. Usually she is up between7:30-8:15, and follows a 2-3-4 schedule with naps ranging from 40 minutes to 2 hours. Generally like 1.25 or 1.5 hours though. Never know what you’re going to get!

Ours is similar to pinkcat. Awake: 7:30 Nap: 9:45-10:45/11 Nap: 2-3:30/4 Bedtime: 7:45/8 He loves to sleep which is very nice. His nap schedule gets a little jacked on Tues/Thurs when my older son has preschool because we have to leave the house at 2:45 to go get him. I try to shift naps earlier those days, like 9:15-10:15 and 1:15-2:30. He still seems to follow the 2-3-4 schedule pretty well for wake times. My older son was almost ready for 1 nap at this age (11 months), but I think this baby will stay in the 2 nap pattern for quite awhile longer b/c he still naps long.

We are also pretty much on the 2-3-4, although some days she still takes really short naps, in which case she might have 3. I feel like that is during teething times, maybe? She's such a better sleeper than DS, so we are so thankful.

We have been on 1 nap for like a month and a half now and it’s glorious. It was a bit rough at first transitioning to it. But she goes down around 12-1230 and sleeps 2-3 hours, which is right when dd1 also goes down for her nap 🙌🏻

H is awful anytime past 6. She goes down exactly at 630, and sleeps in till 7-730. Dd1 had a 630 bedtime up until like a year ago (she’s 3.5 now). And now she goes down at like 730-8. I love it. It gives us so much time at night to relax and have some kid-free down time

bassa our nap schedule was crap like yours which is when I decided she needed 1 nap. She wakes up at about 7-730, and I’m able to push her to 12-1230 and she takes a 2-3 hour nap (today is was 4!!) and then goes to bed at 630.. have you tried putting her to bed earlier? That might help get you to 1 nap. That late nap at 5 might be throwing things off a bit

That late nap at 5 might be throwing things off a bit We're pretty much at just 1 nap now - shortly after starting this thread she went 5 days in a row with taking one 3-hour nap each day. And then reverted back to short crummy naps, and now again back to one long one. Oh babies. Earlier bedtime is a good idea, and I usually aim for 7:30. I don't think I can manage earlier than that since I have to get the 3 year old down first and H is almost always gone in the evenings these days. Anyway, hoping the one nap schedule sticks going forward.

I really want him to drop his morning nap but he is such a grump if I don’t give it to him. I think maybe tomorrow I will try and drop it and then make his afternoon nap start a little earlier.
