Also I spoke with the doctor and she wants to see Chase since he's been coughing for almost a month now. So we're leaving in about 10 minutes and I can only assume it'll be a madhouse.

Happy New Year’s Eve! I went to orange theory this morning and am now quite tired. DH is giving the kids a bath while I clean out my closet, since I’ve lost weight I have a ton of clothes that don’t fit and it’s time to move them out. I’m grateful but also had some things I really liked, so a little bittersweet.

We will go out to dinner tonight with my family and then hang out and play games. I will be lucky to make it to midnight but I plan on having much champagne either way!

tgrimes klong11 and anyone else who had to put a pet down. Did you have your kids say goodbye? I feel like I should but I’m just not sure if logistics. We are planning for Saturday the 12th but I don’t know that I want to wait that long since he seems miserable now. I was thinking maybe Friday while C is at school. Would we have him say goodbye before school? I don’t want him to be upset there but also don’t want him not to have that chance? Thoughts?

If we did it the 12th he would go to my parents so at least if he had emotions he could express them but then I think a distraction like school would be better.

My sister is coming over after the kids are in bed so we can Uber to a friend’s house. The guy having the pool party. As much as I’m rolling my eyes, I might wear my bikini under my clothes JIC the mood strikes. But it’s doubtful. And I don’t feel like shaving.

slenle I’m with you, they don’t sound like great hosts. I don’t want people to have to bring their own meal, that takes away the fun of going! Plus I’m way too much of a control freak...I want the menu to work together and DNW to end up with three veggie trays and no desserts, or whatever 😂.

Possibly. We also could do it this Saturday if my parents are available. We have a date night planned that night. Would it be horrible to still go or better for C to have the stimulation of a babysitter? Why is this so hard!

Right? I think we had multiple cheese and crackers and cookie trays last year. I want variety!

I always tell people they are welcome to bring something but it’s not necessary, I will have plenty of food. And we always have a stocked beer fridge, and plenty of wine and liquor that people are welcome to if they don’t byob.

I promised B McD’s since he came on my errands with me so we’re sitting in the longest and slowest drive-thru line ever. This is no CFA, that’s for sure

So last night I mentioned the bed to DH again (who me, nag? Never!) We did go see the samples Saturday night but he’s seemed non-committal so I wanted to give him an out. He was like, no no, I’m not ruling it out. A couple minutes later he got up, and came back with a packet of paperwork.

He had ordered the bed yesterday morning while he and B were out! He swore B to secrecy and to his credit, the 5 y.o. kept his mouth shut. DH said he was going to just let the delivery truck show up in a couple weeks but clearly I was not going to let it go until then 😂😂 I have lusted after this bed for literally years, I’m so excited!

LOL. I did last night. And the night before. Maybe that's why he ordered it? 

I'm working on a longterm Pavlovian response...DH gets action, I get new furniture. Win/win, right?

Hi hi - hanging on the couch with the kids. We ran to target, Ikea, and old Navy earlier and now j seems to have diarrhea, so I hope he feels better soon. No plans tonight, it's pouring so quiet night in. Tomorrow we may go to the race track for a friend's bday tradition. We haven't seen these friends since that Mexico trip in April, so a bit overdue.

Random but does anyone have a fiddle fig plant? My mom just gave me one and my dad mentioned that it's poisonous. We don't have a dog and I don't think the kids will eat it, but mh thinks we should get rid of it🙄.

wedding ours have been unexpected, so Cadence didn't know about it until after the fact. Our cat, Tatum, was the only one that was "planned" and Cadence came with me. I don't recommend that.

Now any time one of them goes to the vet she asks if they are coming home or going to heaven.

I feel like I always cover the basics but then guest bring things to round it out if that makes sense. Like if we host a bbq, we'll have burgers, chicken, hot dogs, by chips and dip, some drinks (but probably not enough for everyone to have multiple) and a dessert. Then friends bring sides and more drinks. You sounds like an awesome host!

Unless my party is specifically a pot luck, i never ask people to bring food. FFNYEC?

My sister has one; their dog has never bothered it that I’m aware of. Obviously their baby is still little so no help there. I personally wouldn’t be overly concerned.

I don’t have one, but I’m pretty sure the only way to get poisoned by it is to eat copious amounts of the foliage. You should be fine.
