Sheesh sophiegrace. I'm so sorry. That does sound like a mess. I will never understand going to someone else's house and letting my dog go wild, especially with a child with allergies. And your mom saying you just have to deal with it.. nope, nope, nope. Not when your daughters health is on the line. That's crazy.

Ugh Iām sorry sophiegrace. You know my feelings about allergies and exposing them to kids ignorantly. Iām sorry you couldnāt enjoy it more.

The worst. Iām so sorry. Itās happened here a few times and I hate how it makes me feel. I wonder if the pizza places use frozen cheese. Im finding that things that are frozen then cooked have less of a chance of giving M a reaction. Like frozen mini pancakes are fine, fresh made ones are not. No idea. Iām so sick of this. Exactly whatās going on over here. He can eat his weight in frozen pancakes, French toast, frozen pizza, but not anything fresh. Has M had pizza from a restaurant? Or delivery? We havenāt been able to get anywhere near cheese yet. I really need to start exploring it because if she can have the pancakes then i bet she could have other things with milk lower in the list that have the heck cooked out of it. Weāve been able to be more flexible with eggs. If itās more than three things lower in the ingredient list weāre fine. ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ

Like maybe thereās a dog guest etiquette list out there? But, the puppy wouldnāt stop peeing on stuff. The lab ate more than $200 worth of food off the counter. My own dogs had to be locked up and didnāt get to open their stockings (I know...I know...). I just wanted to sit and watch my kid play while sipping my fake sparkling wine.

Hi. Iām just hanging. I went to the grocery store today. Thatās all Iāve done. H has to work until 5 tomorrow but I got all our food for tomorrow night. We are doing heavy apps since I didnāt want to be cooking all night as soon as he gets home. Weāre having rye bowl/dip, mozzarella sticks, potato skins, charcuterie board, stuffed jalapeƱos (homemade), and buffalo chicken wing dip. I think thatās all. Clearly we have a love for cheese. Diet starts Wednesday š¬ Tell me about this rye bowl/dip.

Iām so sorry sophiegrace. I donāt think you handled it wrong. Itās your house and you shouldnāt have to give up eating, being with your own pets and above all, worrying about your kid having a reaction to anything when you are the host! Iām so sorry. I bet M had an amazing Christmas regardless of whatever rudeness was happening around her.

Ohh no sophiegrace. Fuck no to ALL of that. If your dog can't be sensible, you don't bring it to someone else's house (or if you must, you keep it contained). You do not expose a child to an allergy. And absolutely HELL NO to you missing out on eating when there is a perfectly good plate available. Family is crazy and chaotic yes, but family also respects and takes care of each other. And absolutely no one was respectful of you (or your child)

goldenlove what about crockpot meatballs? And also have rolls out so people can eat as is or make a meatball sandwich? Someone is bringing meatballs! We decided on pizza sliders. We also bought a veggie tray and a cheese and crackers platter. I'm sure we'll have a couple dips and chips coming too. Hopefully that's enough food.

sophiegrace, NOPE NOPE NOPE! Sorry I didn't see this earlier! Hellz No! You are kinder than I am because sister would have been turned around, sent back to her car and she could Christmas with puppy/ old dog alone! At minimum sent to the local doggy daycare or back home to pick up everything she would need to care for her own damn dogs. Did she even ask and discuss before bringing her dogs? If everyone went home with her... so be it! We have brought our puppy to ILs BUT we asked before, have a travel crate, her own bed, her own toys and she remained on leash attached to one of us at all times! I've taken Tanner to my sister's and her husband only Okayed it with rules. He had to potty at the far end of the property, as well as stay in his crate during meal times. Bringing a pet is a privilege not a right! They only have the right to decline the invite if the answer is "no, you can't bring your pet!" Your mom was wrong for nitpicking, but also this is not what happens when family visits. If this is what your mom expects at family get togethers, than you should let her host from here on out. All I am reading is lack of respect! Lack of Boundaries! When visiting with your dogIf youāve been invited to bring your dog along, hereās what you will need. A considerate attitude. Taking your dog to someone elseās place is a privilege. Ask where your dog is and isnāt allowed to be and where youāll be taking him to potty. Potty bags. You will need to pick up after your pet. And ask where those little bags go after you pick up. Leash. Your dog might be awesome at home, but in a new environment you never can tell. Good manners dictate you keep your pup under control.Crate. Taking a crate when you visit someone allows you to give your dog a room of his own wherever you are and provides you with options to accommodate other guests. Food dishes. Donāt expect to borrow bowls from your hostās kitchen. Take your own and ask where you should clean them after meals. Donāt be offended if itās a utility sink in the garage. Linens. Itās a good idea to take a sheet to throw over your bed if youāre allowed to have your dog in your bedroom when you stay over at someoneās house. Pack towels as well, since your host may not want you to use the good towels to dry your dog.

Cheshie6 that āš»āš» is exactly how we act and prep for the few times our dogs have had to stay somewhere with us. I thought I was going crazy and wearing super bitch pants to expect that from her.
