Wishful weekend

MORNING! E slept in extra and I slept without nyquil for the first time in 2weeks. It's a glorious day! We are doing ice skating with Santa and it happens to be a day SD is here so she can join us.

E has asked for a big toy house and big Christmas decorations from Santa. Santa does not intend to bring these things. He wants the decorations to remember Christmas all year. Maybe just some figures will do

Morning! We were out of power last night but it has been restored. Yay! Living as a pioneer sucks.

Breakfast with Santa today. Possibly embarrassing myself with half ass caroling tonight. The girls are both obsessed with the idea. Cass has been practicing the Jackson 5 version of Santa Claus is Coming to Town. MH asked one of the neighbors if they mind if we sing horribly for them. 😬

Gymnastics, then swim. After swim we're headed to a friend's house so our girls can decorate gingerbread houses. I forgot to put ours together last night, so I'll need to do that between gymnastics and swim so it has time to dry before Cadence piles candy all over it.

Morning. We’re all in bed, minus N, Dh and h are wrestling. N stayed at my sisters last night so we’ll pick her up on our way to my parents, who are keeping the kids overnight toning. We have brunch plans in the cities, then a date day with no real plans.

Morning! We left yesterday around 4 for the in laws - with stops, we made it here around 9:15 so not too bad. But neither kid slept at all so it was a long 5 hours

s was so sweet though. At one point B really wanted to get out of the seat and kept crying and saying up! S looked at him and said ‘it’s ok, when I first went on a long ride it was hard for me too, but it got easier. It was so sweet

But I never sleep well here. And it’s awkward bc they stay up till like 1 am and sleep till 9 or 10. So I’m just sitting here trying to keep the kids relatively quiet till someone comes downstairs

Morning! We are headed to MH's holiday party where the kids will get to see Santa! We are stopping by my parent's house after and I'm so excited to see their kitchen, they just did a huge remodel!

Good morning. I had a lot of fun at my work holiday party last night. Today we have breakfast with Santa at T’s school then a hockey game tonight. I hope to visit grandma in between at the rehab place. I took C there the other day and I’m glad to have that over with. She’s in the place where my other grandma died so last time I was there was the day she died (I don’t blame them for her death, it was just hard going in). This grandma is doing well though and will hopefully go home with a caretaker in a week or 2.

My parents are picking up C soon to go to Bass Pro Shops for holiday stuff and seeing Santa if it isn’t a huge wait. I am hoping to wrap Cs gifts. I wrapped everyone else’s this morning. I hate wrapping.

I don’t feel great this morning so maybe this is the illness I’ve been waiting for🤞🤷‍♀️ I have body aches, a headache, and a temp of 100.4. I’ve never wished to be actually sick before.

C is scared to see Santa because he thinks he will yell at him because of the messages MH and I left on Santa's voicemail when we were frustrated with him. Oops.

Does anyone else’s kid suck up their boogers? C can’t seem to grasp nose blowing so when he had a cold he was constantly sucking up his boogs. He hasn’t had any in a couple of weeks but he is making that horrible snuffling followed almost by a loogie type noise all.the.time! It’s so annoying and gross. How do I get him to stop?

I threaten M with sitting on her to do the saline spray and nose frida. I remind her she’ll get an EI and will have to take medicine if she doesn’t blow her nose.

She still sucks it up sometimes (probably just to kiss me off) but I can at least get her to blow her nose a few times.

Headed out for a manicure and trip to the grocery store. It’s rainy and grey here but at least I have my new rain boots 😂

I have my MOPS Christmas party tonight so that should be fun. I’m taking an app and a dessert.

MIL used the absolute worst photo of all of us on her Christmas card and I’m stewing. I knew as the pic was being taken it wouldn’t be flattering bc of the angle, and I was right 🤦🏻‍♀️ And yes, I realize this is a FWP in the extreme.

wedding the way I taught B to blow his nose was by comparing it to dinosaurs 😂 I’ll tell him to give me a T-Rex blow; if it’s small/unproductive I’ll say, ‘no that was a baby (insert wimpy Dino here) blow, try again!’ It usually gets him laughing but it works. We also plug one nostril at a time which seems to help clear things faster. He used to only blow his nose when I’d ‘remind’ him but now he’ll take the initiative and do it himself. It dinos aren’t his thing maybe try whatever he’s into—superheroes, etc.

flamingo Not a FWP, that would bug me too. My MIL loves to post the worst pics of me and tag me in them. I took the reigns this year and "offered" to take the family Christmas photo 😉

She is also the queen of posting things on FB that I would prefer she didn't. Today is my anniversary, so I know she's probably working on something as we speak.

Yes. If I get a tissue and tell them, they'll blow. But can't seem to get that they can do that themselves..

I just put jeans on over my pajama pants if that tells you how my mind is working today.... going to lunch and the hardware store. If the boys are up for it, hair cuts. But based on their moods, I'm guessing not today.
