Last night I was laying in bed, alone in the dark, listening to the end of a “my favorite murder” episode that I had started earlier in the day. Karen was talking about this dude who broke into this girl’s apartment and it was the intense part. All of a sudden I hear “mom” and H was standing right in front of me. Scared the shit out of me and I yelled. Sorry kid, don’t do that.
Both kids are fever free, so they’re going to school. I am planning to come home and be lazy while they’re there.

Morning! Both kids slept past 7:30 so that was a nice way to start the day  B has school today. I need to catch up on some laundry, and I might drag C out to get a hostess gift for the MOPS mom who is hosting our Christmas party this weekend. |

Morning ladies! I guess I should get some work done today...I have quite the stack from yesterday.
Going to the post office on lunch to get all these Christmas cards in the mail today. I addressed 78 envelopes last night.
My boss is going to the Chiefs game tonight and she made these RumChata cheesecake shots to take. She brought me in one. :-)

Good morning! jewels are you rich today? Brinks truck dumped cash all over Route 3 during DH’s commute. People all over the highway picking it up. I’m cleaning up a bit while C is in his crib not napping. Next I will be making a list of everything left to buy for Christmas and hoping to knock most of it out today. I almost ran right out shopping from drop off but then I remembered I had my pj shirt on under my coat. I was going to start wrapping but I like to see everything I have for the kids before I do that and a lot of packages are on the way. Hopefully Monday I can do all that. DH has his other holiday party today and I will probably take the kids to the school fundraiser at a local restaurant later. Tomorrow I’m going to the holiday party for the school I pretend to work at. |

I'm at work. The party last night was not fun. Not that I expected it to be, but at least I didn't have to put the kids to bed. Ha ha ha!

Morning. My coworker and I switched days off so I’m working today (from home, with the kids) and have tomorrow off instead. The kids will be at daycare so I have a massage scheduled and lunch with girlfriends.

Hi.
My car broke down yesterday and still seems unpredictable this morning so we'll see. Pete traded me so that if it decides to act up again I'm not stuck on the freeway with X and P on the way to or from his therapy.
Speaking of which, I feel like things are going really, really well and I'm going to talk to the OT today about his progress because she called for a meeting. I'm hopeful they'll decide maybe we can start doing visits every other week.

No clue what to get SIL/BIL for Christmas. We spend $75. They always get us a chain restaurant gift card and movie theater gift card. So great gift and we enjoy it, but they don't put a ton of thought into it. Anyway, the past two years I've done a Target or Amazon gift card with something else (one year was pretty candles and last year was a personalized Christmas sign thing). Not sure what to do this year. MH is all, "we need to do something thoughtful!" Yet he has no ideas. We really aren't close with them. They love going to NHL games, so I suggested a gift card to some restaurants near the stadium, but he wasn't into that. I need to check them off my list!

Leaving early to take Cadence to her brace appt. FX this is something they can just fix, but I'm really not thinking so. Who knows. Then tomorrow I have to go get blood work done as a follow up from yesterday's appt. so I'll be late to work. I pulled all my gifts from the gift closet yesterday with every intention of wrapping them. Then I put them all in their individual piles, wrote down an inventory of what I had and then put it all back in the closet and went to Target.  |

Thanks for all the support, Ladies. I went ahead and responded to MIL with a very polite "Thanks, but we are planning to get away from the kid's restaurant scene...so glad you can join us....please don't feel the need to do anything...we just want you to enjoy yourselves." You get the gist. She did not respond, and she is probably annoyed/hurt/miffed or whatever, but I just keep reminding myself I'm not responsible for her feelings.
I went to a book club, that was actually a wine club, last night and as much as I want to do these types of things, everytime I meet up with this group I realize they are not my people. I guess I just need to accept that, but it's tough because I see these ladies all the time. They have formed this "wives club" that I got kind of roped into and it feels like trying to leave a cult. Ok, that's extreme, but I need to figure out how to navigate that one carefully.
Sorry for all the interpersonal troubles, guys. I think the holiday season is messing with me, and I'm in a weird place emotionally 😕

Do you think the car is fixable cagoldi? Or is it time for car shopping? I'm not sure. FIL thinks he repaired it. The car is ancient (2002 Saturn) but only has about 75,000 miles because it's just used for me to shuttle the kids around and DC is half a mile away, our elementary is literally right behind our house so we walk there. |

Hi from work. I’m currently pumping. Sorry I haven’t been posting much. Work has been super crazy. I trained my old team for 3 hours yesterday. For the first two I joked there would be a test. As soon as I said I was kidding about the test S checked out. I’m so glad I’m now working with her say to day anymore.
