I have no desire to work today.
DH just called me with some stinky news about his job. Because the new job is still with the same company, just a new client site, a higher up manager worked a deal with both clients and now DH has to stay at his current place for an extra 3 weeks (on top of the 4 weeks notice he had originally given). I understand there are politics behind it all, but it still pisses me off that he's stuck there for even longer when that place is causing him so much stress.

DS gets to go bowling today at camp so he's super excited. I had a talk with him about choosing a lane that's basically opposite the side of the problem child & he said "that's what I was planning on doing" in a typical "duh mom" voice. Lol

That really sucks misspeansmama . I wonder if they're doing that on purpose :/ DH said he thinks the director at the client site may have complained because they are already short staffed. What he doesn't seem to realize is that they are always short staffed. Every time DH hires someone 2 more people quit. He cannot keep a full staff to save his life. And the people that quit don't care so they don't give notice, they just call and say they aren't coming in anymore (he literally got a text at 1:00am last week from an employee who was telling him he didn't want to work the morning shift anymore so he wasn't going to come in). Plus I think that they are trying to keep DH there longer so they can get his replacement in and trained before DH leaves. It's a terrible attitude to have but I told DH to just go in and do just what he needs to do going forward, instead of going above and beyond helping everyone out like he normally does.

My free time is botched today. DS starts his speech/OT camp at the developmental center today so I'm picking him up from playground camp at 1ish. You'd think he'd be satisfied that he wasn't missing bowling but then he randomly spews out "I hope I don't miss arts & crafts!" come on, kid! It's like I can never win with him. You'll probably do arts & crafts at the other camp so I just ignored the statement & hoped he would drop it. Luckily he did. On the way to camp, I said you do know that I'm picking you up at 1 today. He grumpily said yes so at least he'll be expecting me.

But I think it's only at that particular client site. I guess it's because those positions are harder to fill.

IIRC they did that type of stuff at the camp he'll be going to this afternoon so when he's done with that, I'll see what his mood is like. Yesterday he spent hours with playdoh he brought home from playground camp so if he needs a pick-me-up, I'll be lazy & give him that again but I'm sure he'll be fine. He just likes to exaggerate.

Why are beach umbrellas so pricey? Been wanting to get one but we don't really go too often so I can't justify spending $50+ for it. Ugh & I have to look online because the stores don't have it, how annoying. I knew we should have bought one when we were in Florida. They were a dime a dozen everywhere you turned. We're dummies.

Same goes for beach chairs. $30+ freaking dollars for a squatty chair to sit by the water. It's crazy. I'll just be sitting my ass in the sand when we go on vacation this summer.

I just ate lunch and am now ready for a nap. I have to update a bunch of reports with a new piece of data and I can't think of how I want to include it. I have had the excel workbook open all morning and I just keep starting at it then going to do something else because I just can't figure this out. This is one of the times when I miss being in an office b/c I have no one to talk through my ideas with.

I'm here. My summer social life has picked up and I've been taking DD to playdates at local pools and attractions lately. For me being an introvert it's new and weird but I like the other moms in the group and DD has a similar demeanor and interests as the other kids. The other kids aren't in the same school district as DD so that's a bummer for when school starts up again. I have more in common with these moms than the moms I've tried to hang out with from our district. I'll need to make an effort to keep them around.

DS is packed and ready for the weekend at my moms. I'll drop him off tonight before I work my retail job for a few hours this evening.
DS had theater camp this morning. He's loving it! One of his little friends is there too and we had lunch with them afterwards. I ran errands with niece and was so surprised at how cooperative she was! We're just hanging out now until I have to leave for work in an hour.

Zero desire to work, but so much to do. It's been such a funky week. I need a mental health day.

DS had a great time at his second camp of the day! So glad. I think he felt cool because I'm pretty sure he was the oldest. On the car ride home he was telling me one of the "teachers" (he calls all adults at activies teachers lol) called him a smart cookie & a smart oreo. Lol He got to take home a book & they did a craft thing plus a coloring sheet so he got his fill of arts & crafts. He's now chilling out to his beloved Ghostbusters cartoon.
