Morning! Today is pakjesavond, so ds is all hyped up, it is adorable! Can’t wait to pick him up from school and hear all about it. Had coffee with a friend today which was nice. Probably making speculaas cookies with the kids this afternoon.

Good morning!
Josie has preschool this morning, and I really love to use the time to run around and to do errands and especially keep Christmas shopping, but there’s a toddler time on Mondays and library stories and crafts on Wednesdays (all for Charlie.) I feel guilty saying no to them, but the ease of errands with just Charlie is so helpful.
I need to start in January. It’d be so good for him and I think I would make more friends in town that way.

Morning. I’m on Day 9 of mh being OOT... but who’s counting. 😉

Z is sick (cough, stuffed up, EI) and I’m not feeling so great either. I think whatever is festering in her chest moved into mine. I don’t usually get a cough (unless it’s from post-nasal drip), so I’m not even sure how to treat it. Hot tea? Cool mist humidifier? What else?

In other news, i think i went way overboard on Christmas shopping so I’m feeling a little guilty like I’m spoiling my children. Each kid has over 10 things to open and i spent a little over $200 on each child. Is that bad?

To go along with that, O doesn’t deserve anything because he acts like a mean little sh*t and doesn’t listen. I have to tell him something 10 times and it’s like he can’t hear me. No response. Then he’s mean to his sister and last night at swimming he was being aggressive (and mean) in the pool with his friend and his little sister. Is there a magic pill to make him the sweet boy he once was?! I’m afraid I’m raising a d*ckh**d.

Good morning. I’ve been MIA here since my breakdown Sunday night so I need to catch up. I decided Sunday night that although I was to wait to increase my meds on Tuesday that I just needed to do it. So I did and actually have felt human and moderately happy since. I called my Dr Monday morning and we talked it out and she was fine with the increase.

Anyway, I am off today for the National Day of Mourning. The federal government is closed but is was an executive branch order so the judiciary doesn’t have to follow it. Some courts are open, not many though. We closed because our security is so executive branch and the US attorneys are closed so we couldn’t even really have court.

Pedicure and lunch with my mom later. Otherwise catching up here, my DVR, and maybe addressing Christmas cards


I also wanted to thank you all for being amazing. I know it’s exhausting to hear someone’s shit sometimes and keep offering support but you all did and it really meant a lot.

snoopmommymom I would to try to ignore bad behaviour (except of course when dangerous or hurtful) and to over praise positive behaviour, even the tiniest things like handing you something. Kids naturally seek attention, good or bad, but once they get bad attention it is easy to get in a downwards spiral. It is hard and may take a while, but it is usually effective.

ETA plus hugs, you’re doing an amazing job as a mom!

I’m enjoying a day off too! I’m about take S to school. Then come home and watch Christmas movies (I have a TON on the DVR) and put up my Christmas tree finally (I’m a slacker). MH is OOT till Sunday so it’s truly a day to myself!

snoopmommymom I'm pretty sure it's just this age...all these kids can be assholes one minute, then sweet the next. Evie drives me insane most of the time, but as long as I know she's well behaved at school and for the grandparents who watch her, I'm not too worried. I mean, yeah, she's a jerk sometimes, but I know she's pushing her boundaries to see what she can get away with it. So I wouldn't worry that you're spoiling them, you're doing an amazing job!

wedding your day sounds nice. I'm glad you are feeling better and have the time today. We are all hear to support each other, in whatever means that is, as we all have different stressors in our lives.

lfig jealous of your H being OOT. Mine keeps telling me he's going to be gone for so many days...this week was supposed to be all week. He was gone one night.

I took too much cold medicine last night and am feeling it today.

wedding glad you are feeling better lately. Don’t feel bad about venting. We all need a little support at times and I’m glad we were here for you.

guster It is so much easier doing errands with one kid. It’s a busy time of year and once things settle down, you’ll be able to make time to take C to do his own things.

snoopmommymom I actually just talked to M last night about his lack of listening and having to tell him to do things over and over. I think I will start sending him to his room if he doesn’t listen the first time I say something. I need to start on the weekend though so he can be really annoyed with being in his room for most of the day and not free to play and maybe it will sink in that he needs to start doing what I say when I say it. Hopefully it only takes a weekend for him to get it.

guster I did so much more with ds than with dd... she’s at that blissful age where she’s an okay listener, can be bribed, loves doing the most simple thing and is oblivious to me buying things for birthdays/Sinterklaas/Christmas. She’ll start pre-school in January, I’ll have a whole 2-3 hours for myself!!!

She hates the school food. I should have checked the menu last night and made her lunch, but I was lazy and didn't. I should teach her how to make her own lunches.

snoopmommymom you are super mom for dealing with sick and asshole kids solo while not feeling well yourself. It likely is just an asshole phase for O. Just keep being consistent although I know it's hard. Mine are flipflopped right now and it's the 7 yo who is being the bigger jerk and the 5 yo has been mostly good. But they definitely take turns at who is the most challenging one.

We were not given the day off. We were told to code for a holiday but still come into work. 🙄 I'm taking a sick day though and going to the doctor. Not much else going on.

Hello from work! I think we're going to decorate inside the house tonight. We were going to do it over the weekend and didn't get a chance and would like it done before our Christmas party Sat. We won't put the tree up yet though since a couple years ago I guess we put it up too early and it died before Christmas and we had to take it down... sad day.
