There is this specialty taco restaurant here in town that makes amazing tacos. My fave is on a flour tortilla with Brie cheese, steak and a grape salsa. It sounds random but it’s so good! I’ve gotten so good at replicating their recipe that I can recreate them at home any time I want!

Oh man I don't know if I have a favorite kind. I love carnita tacos or just regular beef tacos.. or fish tacos with a yummy slaw.

Yesterday I discovered that Home Goods/Marshalls/TJ Maxx are open until 11 during the holidays. Shopping there at 10pm was THE BEST. Unfortunately I was on a mission to find a specific mirror so I didn't do much shopping, but I will definitely be going back for some Christmas shopping soon. I went after work to return something and was about to lose it on the people complaining in the line. I get it. Standing in line sucks and to see only 2 cashiers sucks but you don't have to yell at them constantly and complain about "if I was manager..". Like seriously people, it's the holiday season, you're going to stand in a line. And I didn't even think the line was that bad either.
Anyway, I'm excited for lunch and dinner today. A supplier is doing their holiday luncheon at a BBQ place then tonight we're going out for hibachi with a couple friends. Yum.

Yummm tacos sound good. I love all tacos. I really don’t discriminate.
I’ve been so busy it seems. We shopped all day Saturday and then Sunday my FIL came over to spend the day and have dinner. My kids have been sleeping like shit (mainly J) and I feel like every time I have a precious second to sit down and jump on here, someone is fighting and needs to be in timeout, someone needs a snack, someone needs to pee, someone needs help with a toy, the laundry needs to get switched over, dinner needs to be made, etc. And with the holidays around the corner I’m feeling the stress. Not to mention I have a parent teacher conference for B tomorrow morning and I’m a little nervous. I know it sounds strange since it’s only preschool but his teacher mentioned she has some concerns so clearly I’m thinking the worst.
I realize I need to learn how to manage my stress better. That’s a 2019 goal.

All tacos. If I absolutely have to choose, classic, breakfast and shrimp top the list.

Classic beef tacos are always good. There's a place around here that does chimichurri tacos and fried chicken tacos that are pretty amazing.

We are finally making headway w Christmas. The tree is up and has lights. No ornaments though. Lights outside are done and inside decorations are done. I’ve bought some Christmas gifts which is good for me at this point in the season.

Someone else at my last job just sent me a message on LinkedIn asking if I'd come back. Last time was my would-be boss's boss. This time it's the boss.

H still has fluid coming out of his ear. I'll be taking him to the ENT in the morning to get it suctioned out and probably do another culture.
M was complaining about her ear last night so I looked in it and it's pretty red. I tried using teledoc but they have to do an examination for ear aches in children so that won't work.
I'm really tired of being the only one responsible for my children's health/doctor visits.

H had his allergist appointment today. She's prettt confident his dairy issue isn't a true allergy but Food Protein Induced Entrocolitis Syndrome (I think I have that right). We'll confirm it in 2 weeks and then he'll have to do an oral challenge to decide if it's a good idea try reintroducing some dairy because it's possible to outgrow it for some people.

Even when his company shits on him it takes a while to start the wheels turning because he hates it so much. Somehow spending 40+ hours per week at a company you hate is less of a problem? Also usually (not always) you can get paid more. Do you hate money, bro?

tgrimes I'm so sorry. That sounds so beyond frustrating. Also now I want tacos, hibachi, and bbq. I love lots of tacos but no veggies on them. give me meat, cheese, and seasonings/marinades. M was up last night a bunch. He had peed through his diaper and was cold. He also has a cold so wondering if that contributed. I'm nervous he will be sick when my sister comes to town and my nephew will only be 2 months oldish.

Shhiiiit I hope it’s not FPIES. That sucks. Hopefully since he’s outgrown enough that you can start giving him some stuff and it eventually becomes a thing of the past.

I’ll make sure to send you an invite next time I let him know that I NEED it. Which will probably be very soon because YUM.

OB appt this morning. All good, but I’m getting a little weary of being there every other week.
Work has completely blown up in my face and I’ll be driving back and forth a million times for M’s weekly activities and nap in between trying to be there and get stuff done. My mobile thingy isn’t working and the computer guys can come fix it until next week, which helps me 0% this week.
M and I are going to Colorado with H beginning of January. We’re tempted to go look at some houses while we’re all there. And then back to Florida for H’s birthday first weekend of February. I’m struggling with the airline tickets. There are so many tier options and fees on top of fees that it’s taking me hours just to figure out which deal is the best. Just give me the up front price GDI.

I’m waffling between being extremely excited and attempting to keep myself grounded in case it either falls through or we’re looking at a multi year process. An investor contacted H out of the blue a few weeks ago and wanted to know if they could meet to discuss options in the new year. It really felt like the puzzle pieces were falling into place, but then it was mentioned that they would want him to stay on for at least a year since he’s pulling in double or more than any of the other docs. Makes sense. If someone wants to make money off the office they’re going to want the money maker to stay put. But that would just be a matter of letting a contract run out, which is something H is ok with if it means being free and clear of everything with money in savings when we leave. It’s just getting to me being here and trying to look into our future. It wasn’t a big deal when we moved here and it was just the two of us and our dogs. But, it’s a completely different world that we’re not comfortable living in. So much ignorance and blatant racism. The public schools are terrifying and the private ones cost more than some college tuitions.

I'm sure it will all come together - it's just a matter of being really systematic and pragmatic about the process. I understand entirely about wanting to be in an area where your values were reflected. That counts for a lot when you have kids in the mix.

tgrimes can you sneakily ask the ENT for extra ear drops for M tomorrow? She doesn't have tubes otherwise I would. I'm assuming the ENT will prescribe an oral antibiotic along with his drops. I scheduled M an appt with the pedi at 4 today.

Who was just talking about terrible sleep? kleigh? OMG. For the past week, J has been up between 5:45-6am screaming his head off waking up the entire house. When I go into his room he’s happy as a clam. Smiling at me. Saying “hi! Hi! Mommy!!” Last night, he was up bawling at 11:00, 12:30, 2:45, and 4:30 when finally I brought him into the spare room and he slept with me until 6:30. His naps have also been terrible. Just today he slept for 45 minutes and woke up bawling. And after 15 min he fell back asleep but of course the UPS guy rang the doorbell and woke him up again. He’s wide awake after a 45 min nap. This is why I cannot give up alcohol!!!!

Again at 5:30 for the day. My mom just told me they began to nap at 12:30 today and fucking lawn guys across the streeet woke them both at 1.
