Who else is left that doesn't have their baby yet? I am still hanging out. 37 weeks today!! I am hoping she comes soon. DS actual birthday is this Saturday so I am hoping it is not on that day. I want to be there for his birthday but I also want to get this baby out, so I am conflicted. If quijibo goes next, we might be the only 2 left? I’m 39+3 so I call dibs on next!😉 I'm still here too, just haven't been posting as much. I'm scheduled for my RCS on Wednesday 12/12 though so either of you can go next, that is fine :-) Also, congrats quijibo! I hope he has a short NICU stay and you are cuddling with your baby boy very soon!

Thanks, all, for the love and congrats! Little man is about to turn 24 hours old. I’m struggling. I was so strong and positive all day. A break down was bound to happen.
I have mom guilt. Did I rush him out? Should I have waited on inducing since we weren’t in distress? Did the doctor make a mistake by rushing my pushing? Ah. My brain needs to shhhhhhh.
Of course they do vitals check during my breakdown and my BP is at non-epidural labor levels. I’m breathing deep. A nurse wrote positive mantras on my board. They’re coming back to try again in hopes it comes down and the residents don’t start freaking out.
DS was doing well on his saturation levels. He was down to 21 percent on the cpap. His fast breathing has been pretty consistent though.
I’ve been pumping and getting colostrum over to him. They just started trying feeds around dinner time. We agreed to donor milk until my milk fully comes in and can cover him. But I’m pretty proud to be getting something to him. It makes me feel useful and productive.
I’m rambling. But I know some of you ladies who just went through this totally get it!

First, since I'm late, congrats @quijbo! I hope your DS' NICU stay is short.
Also, the Mom guilt isn't totally normal - I felt it hardcore. I kept saying how I'd love to get B out anytime after 37 weeks, but not thinking he actually WOULD be a 37 weeker who would go on to have breathing issues, and I'm pretty sure me failing to nurse like I wanted is at least part to blame on his early arrival and needing the special nursery care. But my BP also spiked even higher about a day after delivery after it had started to come down immediately after the c-section, and I just remind myself that all the doctors involved made what was probably the safest call at the time - if he had stayed in longer, there was a risk of something worse happening to him or me. A few weeks later everyone is healthy and B is thriving so in the end it was the right call, so just have trust your doctors and you made the best decisions for you and your DS at the time too. I hope you all are home together ASAP!

First, huge hugs quijibo. I feel like you wrote exactly what I’ve been feeling since I had C. And I’m so thankful I had this board to come to share about it because in real life i just act like nothing bothers me. Despite how it feels now, you are doing an amazing job for your little boy. The doctors wouldn’t have offered you an induction if they didn’t feel it was safe. The fact that he’s already going down on his oxygen needs and they are feeding him are both great things, but I also know how hard it is not to have the baby with you all the time. I really hope the babies stay is short and that you can get your bp under control. I’m so sorry you are going through this.

Hey, y’all! Been awhile.
DS is still in NICU but doing well. I was discharged last night. He is off the cpap and IV. He’s on donor milk for the time being and eating well. My boobs are producing (my new Spectra pump is the bomb), but I don’t have enough yet to keep up. The only hurdle currently in front of us is his bilirubin levels. He’s on the higher end of normal, so we’re waiting to see if he gets the lamp.
I slept well in my own my bed last night. No anxiety attacks or crying, so I consider that a huge win. But I can tell the idea of him staying another night is tightening my chest. Trying to breathe deep!
I’ve been reunited with DD, so that’s been nice to have one of my humans by my side.
Hope everyone else is doing well!

I’ve been thinking of you quijibo. Glad to hear he’s making such good progress! I hope his bili levels are the last hurdle to clear before he comes home.

His bili levels are on the high end of normal, so I have to take him tomorrow to get re-checked. Trying to get him to eat, eat, eat, but all he wants to do is sleep, sleep, sleep. How’s your DS doing?

I’m so happy he’s home quijibo! ❤️ I hope he starts waking up a bit more to eat soon! C is doing pretty well. Still on his oxygen and monitors, but I’m hoping we will get the ok to start trying to wean him off it again at his pulmonologist appointment Thursday. Fingers crossed for that. Thank you for asking!

quijibo yay for being home! Fingers crossed his levels look good! summerrain I hope everything looks great at the appointment on Thursday so you can wean him off the oxygen and monitors. Hope you are doing okay too. That is a lot to manage/deal with. When DS was born he was on them for a while at the hospital but off once we brought him home. I just imagine that is a whole other layer of stress on top of regular newborn stress.

So I ended up in L&D last night because I had some contractions that were 8-10 minutes apart for 2 hours and then they started getting closer to 4-5 minutes apart and I just felt off. Got to the hospital but not dilated yet so they gave me an IV and rechecked. Still having contractions still not dilated. They gave me a shot to stop the contractions and sent me home. It is just so frustrating. I need to have a C-section based on my past history so they want me to come in at a low threshold but then I just end up getting sent home. It is going to be a long 8 days if this continues.
Contractions stopped after the shots but then they picked back up again this morning. Nothing too crazy yet but they are still there. I wish they could just make the call to do the C-section now! I am 38 weeks! I have an appointment this afternoon for an NST so we will see what happens I guess...

Little man’s bilirubin went up again and is now at 17.9. It’s not critical. I don’t have to rush him for treatment right this second. But he’s now on a strict formula diet until he’s under control. So, off to Target we shall go for BM storage bags. I haz none 🤦🏻♀️ Repeat of bloodwork in the morning. His poor feet are so beat up.
I also faced his bouncer toward our bay window for as much natural light as possible. It doesn’t get direct sunlight, but at least it’s something, I suppose.

I have been MIA for awhile taking care of DS2 and 3. So happy we are getting more babies this month! quijibo sending you lots of hugs. I hated having Felix's bilirubin levels checked and it took forever for his little feet to look normal again after all the sticks. I hope they go down soon and he can get back on the breast milk. Sending you hugs for the mommy guilt too.

Sorry about the bilirubin levels, quijibo. Both of my kids had issues due to ABO incompatibility - my DD had to come home on bili lights and both had to get so many sticks to their feet in the first week. I hope his levels start trending down soon!

Sorry his bili levels went up quijibo. C’s bili levels were all over the place when we were in the nicu. He ended up having both jaundice and breast milk jaundice, which we are still dealing with. Looking at his poor heels was the worst though. I hope the formula and sunlight are just what he needs to get better. And I hope you are doing ok too. I know it’s been a roller coaster of a week for you.

summerrain Every time I bring a foot out for a lab tech, they mention how boogered up they are. It kills me. Today’s results are back, but I have to wait for the doctor to call me. I hate the waiting. My anxiety has ramped up, so of course I’m crying. Again. I’m very much in mourning over what should have been. Baby rooming in at the hospital. Fun introduction between brother and sister. Not leaving the house and binging Christmas movies and daytime television. Newborn photos. I purchased them but haven’t scheduled them because I don’t know what’s happening. I’m struggling with it all. Just so much in just six days of life.

UPDATE: He went down two points. Doc wants one more test tomorrow and hopefully that’s the end of the jaundice saga. He said I can reintroduce BM. Might do that slowly.

I’m sorry it’s been such a rough week, We also went through the jaundice/heel stick thing and used a bili blanket at home for a few days. FX for tomorrow to be the last one!

So I’m going to be the one that brings up FB group.
I am finding it so hard to keep up on here and I feel terrible. My D15 group is so close on FB and I would love to have that with our N18 group as well.
What are everyone’s thoughts?
