We’re up! 545 seems to be Charlie’s new norm. The only saving grace is that he is the sweetest boy in the mornings. He’s happily playing with the alphabet magnets while I try to make a Christmas menu. Josie had a very tough day at school on Friday, and I’m filled with anxiety about today.

I'm menu planning for a Christmas party we are having Sat! We have it yearly and I'll have an assortment of cheese and crackers and kid snacks. What else should I make? I'd like easy things I can just set out, preferably some heartier options since people are drinking. Ideas? My sister is bringing meatballs. I was thinking maybe bacon wrapped brown sugar mini sausages, veggie pizza, fruit... people also tend to bring things to share though it's not asked of them.
Party is at 3pm, family friendly.

@wine, A baguette on a cutting board with fig jam, and rolled prosciutto (it would go well with the cheese plate). Olives? A flatbread (or naan) pizza cut up into strips? Crockpot of vidalia onion dip or spinach artichoke dip with crackers?

wineallthetime I’m doing this for Christmas too! I’m adding mini quiches, some bread and dips, charcuterie, fresh figs, grapes, stuffing meatballs, cranberry sauce, peppadews with cream cheese and mini cheese fondue with veggies.

Morning. Ds had an Advent celebration at school today, it was very sweet. After that I had my weekly ‘mummy daughter date’ at a coffee house that is inside a toy store and a ton of cleaning to do. I’m making couscous for tonight, I just forgot that I have plans with a friend, so I’ll make enough for Dh tonight and both of us tomorrow.

wineallthetime this is one of my fav’s! Except I do ground beef instead of sausage because I don’t care for sausage. I also love buffalo chicken dip! Both are easy, appetizer-y, and are filling.

Morning!
I have my MOPS meeting this morning; they’re doing a ‘holiday market’ where people can set up tables of stuff they sell so members can ‘shop’. I’m not really interested so I’ll probably dip out early, but I’ve missed the last couple meetings since we were out of town so I feel obligated to go for at least a bit.
After that I’m picking up groceries and cupcakes for B’s birthday tmrw.

Morning! Last week was rough on the home front. MH and I have not been communicating well which caused some arguments, and not speaking for several days, but I think we are back on track. I’m ready to tackle this week with a renewed vigor.
The heat in my office hasn’t been working right for almost a month. I freeze every day. I have a small electric heater at my desk but it only does so much. They keep coming to “fix” it and finally it’s being replaced this week with a new system!

wineallthetime baked Brie is always good, meatballs, sausage balls, Paula Deen makes a chili/cheese/cream cheese dip that is amazing. Basically I like protein and cheese lol. Oh and I have a recipe for bacon artichoke squares that are delicious if you’re interested.

E woke up fever free so no change in plans today. C is off work and will put up Christmas decorations and grocery shop since I couldn’t do it yesterday. E will go to DC, LO will go to school and I will go to work. I was nervous E would still be sick because C will do nothing if he has to take care of 1 kid.

Also, I just found out that Sierra’s aide at school is leaving 😞. She starts student teaching in January. So they are currently looking for a replacement.

guster I hope J has a better day today! lfig Sorry things have been rough with your H. I hope things are better now! Just another cold Monday here. I think H decided what car he wants, now to see if the dealer can deliver. I'm letting him do all the negotiations and communication on this one...I'm still exhausted from mine a month ago!

I had no desire whatsoever to make full English Christmas dinner like I normally do.

I woke up in a bad mood. I think it is because of the dreams I had last night. Everything is annoying me.

I need to do laundry today and either half paint half work. Or just work and paint all day Wednesday.

nam2013 That is a lot of sides. I love Jamie Oliver. Me too! Those flavours butter are always a big hit and you can make them weeks in advance and then just keep them in the freezer, so easy!
