I bought ... A lot of stuff yesterday. But I think I'm almost done. I need to get something for dh, order photo gifts for great grandparents, and a gift card for my brother.
I got our Christmas cards right before we left and they came out really blurry so I have to call and see if we can get a reprint or a refund. All the images were high res so there's no reason they should be blurry at all. Boo Vistaprint.
Ds1 went to the beach today and I think he's going to an airplane museum this afternoon with FIL and dh. Gotta keep him busy. I'm hoping to get to the zoo tomorrow. Ds2 has another tooth popping through #5!! Finally lol.

grumpycat, I hope you can get your cards reprinted. That really sucks. Not much going on here. I ran this morning, but otherwise, we’ve just been lazy. I need to grocery shop and do some laundry, though. I want to go to a tree lighting at the town hall tonight, but I know parking is going to be hard to come by, so I don’t know if we will.

Hi ladies. I’ve been sleeping like crap lately and just feel blah. DH is coming home from hunting early tonight and MIL is taking the boys overnight so we’re going out for a date night- it’s been forever and is much needed.
Until then, the boys and I are at my parents house with a bunch of family making Christmas cookies/candy and drinking holiday cheermeisters.

Hi! I had to bring N to the ER this morning for his ear. He didn’t complain about it during the day yesterday and right before bed he said it still hurt. It ended up being an ear infection. He has a ridiculous tolerance for pain. Who knows when it really started to hurt.
The rest of the day has been filled with decorating for Christmas and starting on the gingerbread men for E’s birthday party. I’m freezing in advance as much as I can for his party to make my life a lot easier.

Not too much here. I took ds1 to see the new Grinch movie yesterday. His first time at a theater and he did great!!! It was nice to get some one on one time with him.
I went shopping yesterday after the kids went to bed. I bought mostly for myself as usual but I did find adorable PJs for the boys!
We're getting a snow storm tomorrow, as of now it's 0-7 inches predicted, all depends on where the storm tracks.

We had DD2’s birthday party today. The last person just left. I will be posting pictures soon. It went decent enough and I am now exhausted. Beer and Netflix are in my immediate future.
So tell me if I’m being a bitch here. Before the party this afternoon, FIL shows up with cake, flowers, ice cream and a card for my MIL (her birthday was on Thursday). He proceeds to tell me that we can just do her birthday today too since her whole family is here. Ummm eff no. You are not highjacking my daughter’s first birthday because you failed to plan anything for her. I sent him back next door with a bitchy comment. He said I guess we’ll just do it after the party. Whatever dude.

Sorry about the cards grumpycat, I hope they fix it! Not bitchy at all snuff9861, I wouldn't have wanted to share it either. You only get one first birthday. Sorry about the ER trip sarahandben108. I froze a bunch for H's party it made things so much easier! pootsen sounds like a nice night! What's a cheermeister? Hi everyone, I feel like I haven't been around between Thanksgiving and birthday party prep. Party was a success other than the bday boy falling asleep before cake lol. Pics in the private board.

I would’ve been pissed too snuff9861. It’s one thing to ask in advance, but it’s definitely a hard no to a surprise shared birthday.

Omg we have the same FIL snuff9861 😒 my FIL's bday is 2 days before ds1's and he always tries to celebrate and get people to say happy birthday to him during ds1's parties. Thankfully ds1 doesnt do parties anymore. So all that to say, no, you are not being a bitch. Annoying AF ETA glad the party went well despite and enjoy your Netflix and beer 😉

Hi, all! We have had another nice relaxing day at my sister’s. My BIL is a regional manager for a retail store, so he was here on Thanksgiving but traveling to his stores yesterday and today. Fortunately he finished in time to have dinner with us tonight.
My parents left earlier today, but my SIL (BiL’s sister) is here, and it has been nice catching up with her! She doesn’t have kids herself so wants all the baby time, which we are happy to give her. 😂
We travel back home tomorrow. I’m dreading the drive, but only because of the inevitable Sunday after Thanksgiving traffic.
H and I have some of our homemade wine. Everyone liked it!

I need to take down fall and put up Christmas. I'd like to have most of it up for DS2's party next weekend. I have so much prep to do before then but at least I took Friday off. My H is also off towards the end of the week so we should be okay. I just can't believe his birthday is next week already!!!
They updated the forecast so we are slotted for a decent amount of snow this evening. I'm really hoping the snow plow service received our contract in time!! 😬

Good morning all. B was up every 2 hours or less last night and even Tylenol didn’t help so idk what is going on. He went back to sleep easily as soon as I nursed him so of course that’s what I did. Sigh. We are weaned during the day but not overnight 🤷♀️
H took the kids out this morning to give me a break. I slept in and showered and now I’m lingering over my coffee trying to decide if I should attempt to get something done or just enjoy the me time.

Good morning, went grocery shopping and H was pointing to everything in the produce section and grunting/, whining. I felt bad that I plied him with puffs instead but I really didn't want to walk around with a half eaten pear or something lol. Now I'm getting him down for a nap so I can go drink some coffee in peace. I still need to put all the bday party stuff away too.

The Delaware memorial bridge is closed. It took us 5 hours to get to MD (usually 2.5) because every way was so so congested. Dh randomly pulled into a parking lot because he had to pee so bad. 😯 things are moving now but we still have 3.5 hours to go. Sigh.

Hope N is feeling better, sarahandben108 ! snuff9861 - absolutely not, that was super rude of your FIL. grumpycat - Oh no! I saw that on the news this morning. Delaware traffic (especially south-bound, trying to get on 95 after that toll...) is my personal nightmare and I probably would have straight up murdered someone if I'd been stuck in it. Hope you guys made it home OK! N is SO CLINGY right now. I've been doing some reading on separation anxiety so I know it's normal and a sign that he has healthy attachment, and I also know I should be cherishing the snuggles while he wants them... but I'd also like to be able to put him down to play without waterworks. Sigh. (On the other hand, it keeps me off my phone LOL.) We were very ready to send him back to daycare this morning. And he was thrilled to go, all smiles and playing as soon as he got out of his car seat. To toss in my own "Is this bitchy" IL question/situation - My ILs brought the cat when they visited BIL in Texas for Thanksgiving - to a two-bedroom apartment with a black lab. We are not 100% sure BIL knew the cat was coming, either. So H asked his parents if they were planning on bringing the cat at Christmas, since they were planning on staying with us. They said yes. However, they know my dad - who will be at the house constantly the weekend of N's party - is allergic, since this exact situation has come up multiple times since N was born. Three potential party guests are also allergic. We'd basically have to shut the cat in our bedroom the entire time, since that's the only room guests won't go in. So now they are considering staying at a hotel. I feel bad, but they didn't even ask first. Man, I thought the holidays were difficult before kids...

cakewench, have they brought the cat to your house before in the past when they stayed? If so, I would assume that they are also assuming that it's ok to bring the cat again. Even though your dad would be there and he is allergic. If they have not brought that cat in the past, it is definitely rude not to check with you first. I wouldn't feel bad about them staying at a hotel either way. It's their choice, they have a responsibility for their pet, and it's obvious they still want to spend Christmas with you.

Yes, the cat has been with us multiple times in the past. So I do get it, and I was sympathetic the first few times for that very reason. Going forward I really hope they start asking, though, because at that point it will have been over a year since we've stopped allowing the cat. How is N doing today?

He hasn't complained about his ear since Thanksgiving. Even when he was a baby he wasn't one to fuss. We once brought him to a wellness check and found out there he had a double ear infection. He never acted like his teeth bothered him either. Boy, looking back he was such an easy baby. His brother, not so much. LOL And as a preschooler, holy crap he is difficult.

cakewench ... Why do they need to bring the cat?? I'm a cat person and I've never felt the need to travel with my cat, like ever.
