DH got the flu that I still have so now we both feel awful. We were supposed to go to his dad's for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow but we're not going anymore and we may have to just do a quick visit to my parent's house on Thursday depending on how we feel. This has been great timing on getting sick... 😒

Ugh brenna sounds terrible, get well soon! We were dealing with fevers and tummy issues on Sunday/Monday so I thought for sure we be out of any family gatherings. But it lasted 48 hours and so far everyone seems fine. We are going to family’s house and I will be whipping up a casserole. Not looking forward to managing 2 littles this year, but they are the popular guests.

Tonight has started out really bad sleep wise for dd2 so I'm thinking I won't get much sleep tonight 😞 it's hard to feel better when I'm up all night with a baby that doesn't want to shut her dang eyes!

Spending the day with the ILs tomorrow. There are going to be SIX pies! For only 11 people! Why do we need so many pies?!?! Haha! 😄
Still struggling to get DD to sleep at night. She won't lay in her bassinet for shit, but with me she slept 6 hours last night. Her days have been getting better again and she slept easily in her crib for 30-40 minutes today. Hopefully her nights will follow soon.
She's two months old today already! Whaaat?!??

Dd2 slept like shit last night so I didn't get much sleep and still feel terrible. We're really hoping we can venture out tomorrow for at least a little bit. I miss the days of being able to lay on the couch all day when I was sick. It's fricken hard taking care of two kids right now!

I tried the heating pad trick tonight and I've successfully gotten DD into her bassinet without issue. We'll see how long it lasts.... 🤞

Oh.My.Gosh....... Last night??? It's like someone flipped the switch back off on DD's awful nights 😳 Complete 180°! She woke to nurse at 1:30 and 5-ish, but I did the heating pad thing with each wake-up and she went back in her bassinet each time without any issue. Babies are so strange! I can't imagine that it's just because of the heating pad. It must also have to do with the end of this phase, but holy crap I'll take it! And I'll be keeping on with the heating pad!! 😄😉
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

I'm so sad today. DH doesn't think it's a good idea to go to my parent's house because it'd be terrible if we got anyone sick so we're just staying home 😥 this will be the first Thanksgiving I don't spend with my family. I thought we should go just for a little while, but oh well I guess. My mom said she'd bring some food over for us after they eat so at least we'll still get some yummy food.

Happy thanksgiving! We are about to start cooking dinner. My mom, brother and sister are coming over later. Hopefully it’s a fun and relaxing day.

Kind of disappointing Thanksgiving for us today. We ended up just having spaghetti for dinner. I was really sad about it until DH reminded me that we have a lot more than most people have and even though we didn't get to spend the day with family or eating yummy food, we are still really lucky. We are so thankful for our two healthy, beautiful daughters. I hope you all had a great day!

brenna I'm sorry you felt disappointed today. Maybe you can plan a make-up Thanksgiving with your family? MH and I have been together for 8.5 years and this is the first Thanksgiving day we've actually spent together as he always has to work. We just plan Thanksgiving together another day. The holiday doesn't necessarily have to be celebrated on this day! I'm glad that at the end of the day you were able to see the many positives you have in your life ❤️

Happy Belated Thanksgiving! Sorry for the letdown holiday brenna. MH bailed on my dad's side Thanksgiving last weekend because he was sick and it was a bummer. Granted his was just a bad cold... Hope you're starting to feel better by now.

Happy belated Thanksgiving. It has been pretty busy around here. DD1 is getting over croup right now and is extremely clingy. She's never whined so much! DD2 is doing well. Some nights she sleeps a lot better than others, but we are managing. My six week check up went well on Monday. It is funny that I was so ready to be released to workout and once I was I haven't done a thing yet. I guess you always want what you can't have and then when you get it, its like whatever. :-)

I had my annual physical a week and a half ago and for the 4th year in a row my cholesterol went up. I thought we ate pretty well but I guess we need to do better with my family history. I told my NP I don't want to jeopardize my milk supply so we agreed to retest in a year and make more drastic changes then if it goes up again.
For now I bought myself a new FitBit Charge 3 to upgrade from my Alta and I'm going to try to move more.
Maybe it's time to find new lunch options to replace my almost daily deli turkey with mayo sandwich.

NymeriaI had high cholesterol and was slim and "in shape" when I was like 26. I ate healthy before then or thought I did and didn't even eat red meat back then. It was mostly hereditary for me but I made a few changes and it went down. Things like ground turkey. There is such a huge jump in cholesterol between the ground turkey and ground turkey breast! Also switched to lower cholesterol butter. I ate a lot of those sandwich thins sandwiches with sliced chicken breast back then and lots of whole grains instead of the white starches. I also started walking jogging a bit. Oh and ate lots of cheerios! I hope you can get it back down!

Anyone have anything fun on their list for cyber Monday? Any good finds from Black Friday?
I bought a $10 blanket that I already have from target from several years ago that is still one of my favorites and also bought a pair of cheap winter boots for myself. I have no motivation to put the tree up. Will try next weekend.

So I think L might have a milk protein allergy. I'm really hoping that isn't the case, but I've been trying to eliminate dairy from my diet to try and help. One reason for silent reflux is dairy and he also had a green poop last night after me eating whatever I wanted on thanksgiving. So many of the symptoms of silent reflux and milk protein allergies are pointing to what he is dealing with but it could also just be coincidence. I also noticed that he had less symptoms when I didn't eat dairy. Hoping to hear more from the pediatrician at his one month (say what?!?) check up this week. Eliminating dairy really sucks and I'm worried I won't produce enough milk if I cut everything out. It doesn't leave me with many things to eat and a lot of dairy free stuff is so expensive.

We eat pretty basic things now, usually a fruit and/or veggie, rice/quinoa/potato, and a meat for every dinner. Let me know if you need any suggestions. Be on the lookout for "hidden dairy" in baked goods, crackers, chips, sauces, etc.

I'm on day 8 of feeling like crap and both DH and I have pretty much lived on the couch the past week. Thankfully MIL took dd1 for the weekend so we can actually rest. I'm a little worried about dd2 now. She's had a low fever 99-100 degrees the past two days and has been sleeping a lot. She's still eating like usually and isn't fussy at all. Do you think I should call urgent Care or take her in tomorrow? I feel so bad for her 😞

pixiepink24 - Fingers crossed it's not actually a dairy allergy!! brenna - Most urgent cares (around me at least) won't touch a baby. At 99 I would just watch and call her ped in the morning. 100 would make me call our ped's after hours line (or the office itself if they were still open since we have weekend hours). The answer may be just to monitor and make sure she keeps eating/has enough wet diapers, but breaking 3 digits on a baby would make me want to at least check in with baby's dr. Since she's still eating plenty and seems ok otherwise she's probably fine!

Both of my children are sleeping in their cribs 😳 I don't even know what to do with myself!!
I've been thinking that it seemed like DD's bedtime needed to be around 7:30. Apparently I was right.
