Pete Souza continues to troll Trump by posting photos from the Obama administration. Today's is G8 leaders walking together. No golf carts. I love him so much.

It was the one with Obama laughing with the other NATO leaders. My favorite though is the one he titled "holding hands" right after Melania swatted Donald's hand away.

I'm finally caught up after a day away and have nothing to add except this. She's hilarious.

Now I'm singing the song from Evita. I kinda love that comparison.

This is not awesome. Europe is basically like "let's ignore that asshole in the golf cart and do our own thing."

This is not awesome. Europe is basically like "let's ignore that asshole in the golf cart and do our own thing." Good things have historically always happened when Germany has felt isolated from Britain and the US. What could go wrong?

I just came back from spending a marvelous, relaxing 24 hours off the grid and my headache has returned.
Thanks, Trump.

I knew even before he was president that he would be a disaster, but the amount of damage he has done in such a short time is appalling. I read a tweet that basically said the US is intentionally ruining its role as a world leader.

Re: Trump ruining our spot as world leader. I think he is focused on US economy and saying screw China/India/Mexico for "stealing" our jobs. Hence the 'USA first' mantra. However, when it comes to security, screwing over our allies is pretty petty and bound to backfire. If your allies aren't secure then your relationships aren't secure. He surely knows lone wolf in security is a bad idea right?? I don't think he sees the big picture of how we need to interact with other nations on a variety of issues. I don't care for Merkel but I prefer her over Duterte/Putin/other crazy leader. In short, his inability to see the big picture scares me.

citronaut Every time something new comes out I'm always like "ok ok, we can come back from this". But yea. The more stuff that happens, the more I am just wondering how long it will take to recover from this mess or even if we will be able to.

He's used to being rewarded in his career for not playing be the rules and making lone wolf decisions. He's always had the finances and connections to cushion his failures. He knows nothing about foreign affairs or diplomacy beyond what it takes to set up a golf course in a foreign country and he truly seems surprised every time it turns out that foreign relations are complex. He's surrounded himself with yes men and cronies instead of folks who understand the international scene and are willing to challenge him. He also seems to prefer foreign leaders who will be ego-stroking sycophants. It kills me that he has praised Duerte and Putin and seems to care so little about human rights abuses on the international level. 🙁

I found this thread about the corruption in the White House with Kushner and Trump and how the media misses the big picture interesting. The nepotism and conflicts of interests are astounding.

This might have already been discussed, but really, he rode in a golf cart while the other leaders at the g7 walked??

So, this is a really big deal. Surely no one thinks the best idea is to actually alienate from all of our allies?

Kush is receiving pressure to take a leave of absence. In any other administration, this would be a no-brainer. Any foreign policy he has/is/will touch is going to be considered suspect by a large chunk of the military, FS, and IC.

I'm so glad *someone* understands what's going on. Because half of the American people sure don't. All they see is that french asshole who wouldn't shake the president's hand/went to the German lady first (depending which Fox News segment they saw).

How the fuck do you be President of the US and get BORED? I haven't been "bored" since I had a kid. I feel like running the country would have ample opportunity to stay occupied at all times. Seriously. It's like when I was a kid and complained that I was bored and my mom would say "read a book." Except it's: read a goddamn briefing memo. Like he didn't even understand that the prisoner that was released by Egypt was imprisoned by Sisi's regime (whose shoes he likes.) Read something you twat! When I was a kid if I ever complained about being bored my mom would give me a chore to do. Someone in the WH must own a cat who needs her litter box changed...

When I was a kid if I ever complained about being bored my mom would give me a chore to do. Someone in the WH must own a cat who needs her litter box changed... But see, when you put it like that, it's too easy for me to see a spoiled little rich kid whose parents didn't pay much attention to him and therefore he got away with everything. And by all accounts Trump's own sons were similarly unattended and unloved by their parents. Which is sad! It's classic for men like him and I guess his father to be horrible to their sons but loving to their daughters. My uncle is like this. Verbally abused his sons and made them feel like nothing, and they grew up to be abusers themselves, not able to stay in relationships, their kids avoid them. My one female cousin got none of this from him, and her life has been completely different than her brothers.
