So I had a scheduled induction that started on 11/17 at 7am. At 9am I started out at 1cm, high, and hard cervix. They put in the pill that helps soften the cervix. At 1pm they checked me and I hadn't progressed so they put in another pill and I waited another 4 hours. Contractions began to get closer together and hurt a bit more. At 5pm they checked and I was almost 4cm and 70% effaced so we started pitocin. At 6pm my Dr came in and broke my water.
At 7pm I got the epidural placed. Then my blood pressure bottomed out and I nearly passed out. She checked me at this point and I was only 4cm. After everything calmed down I went to sleep. They kept cranking the pitocin up Throughout the night. I was checked again at 10pm and I was 5cm. They put the pitocin up more and put a peanut ball between my legs, so I tried to rest. Around midnight my epidural wore completely off on my left side. I also started to feel pressure. She checked me and I was 6cm. I pressed the epidural button for another dose but it didn't help and the pressure continued. About 25 minutes later I asked to be checked again and I was 9cm and the pressure was worse.
They called my doctor to the hospital and I was told not to push, despite my body telling me otherwise. I ended up waiting 30 minutes for her to show up while trying my best not to push every contraction. I was about to give up and tell them I needed the resident to deliver me because I couldn't hold it anymore. Thankfully my doctor walked in and checked me and gave me the green light to start pushing. About 5 minutes of pushing and baby girl was born at 1:45am.
She weighs 9lb 4oz and is 21.5 inches long, my biggest baby!!
