Our day started out crap. Dh got home late last evening with the kids last night and in the hassle of getting the kids & the gear inside he forgot to lock his bike. It was stolen last night. The key to our house was also in it. So now we need a new bike, two new bike seats and a new lock on our front door. We been trying to save money for our trip so bad, this isn’t helping. Bye money...

Yikes, @nam, that’s scary (and expensive)! I’m sorry. I’m not scared, our neighborhood is great and bikes being stolen from time to time is part of life in Holland, but yeah it’ll probably set us back about a €1000.- to replace everything... |

M has been vomiting since 4:30 so I’ll be staying home with her. I already have today off for nutcracker but I obviously can’t go now. Hopefully, I’ll be able to make it to the evening performance.

I just feel bad about it since I’m supposed to be helping backstage. Obviously they don’t “need” me. But I hate saying I’ll do something and then not being able to follow through. KWIM? Oh, nam, what a bummer. No chance it might be recovered somehow? Here, you can register your bike with the police in case it's ever stolen. tgrimes, sorry M is under the weather. Hope she feels better soon. I'm home sick with a sore throat. I probably *could* go in, but I decided not to. I'm doing a little work from home, but otherwise, I'm just going to relax. |

Morning! The kids have been playing with C's new Calico Critter house all morning; God bless those fuzzy little things. We are going to need to get B his own set of animals, though--C is...not great at sharing hers yet  I need to go find a clutch to take to the wedding this weekend. Moral of the story: I should stick with gold accents for evening, b/c I'm having to reinvent the wheel (aka my wardrobe) for this dress. I also need to venture to Wally World for a couple things, but wasn't organized to order through the drive-up service in time. Drat. |

Two real days of class left since Friday is just some sort of presentation and then graduation. This class is painful. In some ways it's a weird karma payback for all the times I was in a group project and my loser teammates didn't help because I don't know what the hell I'm doing so I can't contribute in any meaningful way. But it's worse to just sit around and do nothing rather than help get shit done so we can get out of here. 8 hours of sitting around but having to look busy is way worse than being busy.

This week can suck it.
No update on FIL, SMIL was on her way to the hospital this morning when I sent her a text. So I hope to hear from her soon. But I'm sure he's feeling better today and probably a grouchy patient who wants to go home.
H confirmed the funeral for his uncle is Monday at 10am. We briefly discussed leaving Sunday and driving about 8 hours to get into Colorado, then driving the rest of it Monday morning. We would head home Tuesday and get back Wednesday afternoon. That way we can keep Evie's birthday party as originally planned for Saturday. I sent him a text this morning so I could start planning, to make sure that was the plan and he said he didn't know. Like, come on, I need to set up a dog sitter, get time off work, etc.
And to add to it, H's debit card number was stolen. Someone has used it for over $300 worth of charges at Poshmark. So he had to cancel his card, before we head out of town. What else can happen?

i'm still grouchy and hurt about yesterday. I am feeling petty about things and need to snap out of it and move on. I have a call with the FDA today for work and MH has a meeting with the EPA. I'm laughing at our meetings with big government oversight.

Oh no @nam! That sucks. It makes me so angry when people do shit like that. It’s such a personal violation. And I hear you on the money. It sucks so much to spend money on not fun stuff. Dh got a bolt in his tire last week and had to replace two of them. I could think of a lot of things I would have rather done with $300!! tgrimes no to puke!!! Drink all the red wine so you don’t catch it! mwhip yeah, sounds like this week need to just GTFO for you. Sorry for all of it. C was up and restless a lot last night, so I handed her of to dh at 5:30 and got another hour of sleep. With the time change on the east coast dh is home in the mornings, which is super nice, but between working an hour later and then rush hour traffic he rarely will make it home before dinner. Most nights I just cook and feed us and then make him a plate and clean up everything. It kind of stinks to never eat together. I placed an order last night with Etsy with an artist to hand draw a picture of Stella and Charlie (our dogs that died this year) for dh for Christmas. He will love it and will probably cry. |

Morning. I'm working from home, i.e., doing laundry and watching Hallmark holiday movies while getting some thoughts documented for an upcoming project at work. I have a hair cut later this afternoon but other than that, nothing too exciting. I'm getting a bit nervous about getting all the cupcakes baked and decorated on Friday afternoon but there's nothing I can do about it this early. I'm just going to have to hope for the best. And not leave the office an hour or 2 later than planned, like usual.
I booked an appointment with the therapist for us once I get back from Calgary in a couple weeks. I also need to get my SIL to come over and take pictures for our holiday cards, or convince DH to let me use some from this summer's vacation. Oh, and I need to plan Thanksgiving since everyone has been asking what they can bring. This happens every single year - I feel paralysed leading up to Colin's birthday party and then have to play catch-up right afterwards. You'd think I'd learn.

nam2013 I’m sorry you lost the bike, that is a terrible way to start the day. mwhip Hope you figure all the travel out and FIL is ok. I’m glad you can keep your party plans. sing2phins feel better. tgrimes I hope you make the performance tonight. If I end up resigning from my job, sick kids will be reason number 1. I get 11 sick days a year and my kids have been home 9 already since school started. This morning T had his yearly check up and he and C got their flu shots. T freaked and C didn’t flinch. My oldest commented the other day that C acts like her has that disease where you don’t feel pain. I just found him napping with both thighs trapped in the crib rails. DH has changed his flight tomorrow 3 times already. He will be flying out of the wildfires and into an ice storm so trying to find the best ways to manage that.
