One of J molars has finally popped through. I'm hoping the other one will as well because hes been up twice a night the last 2 nights and I'm exhausted. Once a night I can live with but twice sucks.
Question. How long do your kids sleep daily? Like nighttime and nap combined? I feel like since dropping to 1 nap j isnt getting enough sleep, is overly tired, and it affects his night sleep. He gets about 11.5 hours total and that just doesnt seem like enough.
Work is wearing me out. My principal has been out for 2 weeks so a lot of the behaviors are falling on me. It's also the busy time for my blog and I'm struggling with baby, teaching, and blogging. Then my parents are giving me some guilt saying they are having J withdrawal. I told them they just sw him 2 weeks ago, will see him thanksgiving probably once in December plus Christmas. That's a lot for living 2.5 hours away. I work full time so my weekends I want to just hang with dh and j sometimes.
We got a preview of j #christmas pics and they are so freaking cute. Cant wait to get the rest of them

king26 R sleeps 11-12+ hours at night. Her first nap is usually 2-2.5 hours, then she was doing a second that was averaging 2 hours. We’ve had a rough go with her second nap the past week and it’s taking her long to fall asleep, if she does - so not sure if it’s a phase or if she’s dropping it (we will keep trying).

R is fucking nuts in the bath. I gave both the girls a bath together tonight, since they both really like it and usually H gives R her bath during the day. R slips and slides all over. Somehow she sort of fell onto her back and was laying in the bath tub - didnt care at all that she was in this position. Screamed when I finally took her out and didn’t calm until I got T out of there.
R is so much busier than T. She does all this crazy shit, like standing on her fisher price elephant and then trying to stand on its head. Sitting and standing on shit that she shouldn’t be. When she doesn’t hear a door or gate close, she runs to get where she is not supposed to be. It’s exhausting.

king26 n sleeps 9p-8/8:30am and one nap 1-3ish. So he gets around 13-14h total a day. Omg bsouls she sounds wild. N has calmed down a bit with the climbing. But if he hears a door open or sees one open somewhere like the library he makes a beeline to escape. I had thoughts. They’ve disappeared. Maybe they’ll return for tomorrow. I should sleep.

king26, yeah we are on the lower end for sleep too. 10 hours at night and the nap can vary from 1-2 hours. I wish she would sleep an extra hour at night but the time change has killed us. Omg bsouls, M is a complete maniac too and tries to be in dangerous situations constantly. It’s soooo exhausting

Omg bsouls, that sounds exactly like toddler H. Such a difference from his brother. He climbs everything, tries to pull stuff out of the outlets, fit himself into vents, stand on top of a table and then on top of his noise machine on the table, crawls up into ds1's easel. He has more upper arm strength (relative to size) than me. So crazy. He also wants to dump everything on his head and dunk his face in water. Of course when he goes down slides, it's headfirst laughing. I love the adventurous spirit, but goodness. Danger!!

He was sleeping until 6 or 630 but now it usually 530 or 545

A sleeps about 11.5 hours at night and naps are mostly 20 mins to an hour. He’s just not a good napper, even though he’s tired and you can see it in his face.
I don’t think there’s much to climb on top of at my house, cause he never does it. He does try to push the chairs around though.
We went to his 15 month yesterday. He didn’t even flinch at the flu shot, but the pedi is considering him delayed because he doesn’t walk or stand unassisted and doesn’t have 5 words.

I know some will test this early but most wait until after 18 months

Noah’s been throwing up all day. When he woke up our nanny found his bed covered in vomit and chunks of last nights dinner. Then he threw up 3 times after a small breakfast. Poor kiddo. She said no fever and one molar is breaking through but 🤷🏻♀️ I feel so bad for him idk what’s wrong. I hope he stops throwing up. Idk what to feed him. I had her feed him applesauce for lunch. And pushing water so he doesn’t get dehydrated. ☹️
@easilyunamused good job A with the flu shot! I wonder if they’ll wait til 18mo to decide? I feel like he could start those things soon and just be a late walker / talker vs delayed. I hope you get things figured out soon. I’m sorry. You must be worried. I would be too, despite the chance of him just being on the later side vs officially delayed. Although I guess the sooner they decide then they’ll do some intervention and he’ll hopefully jump back on track! Hugs.

addymac, poor N. That sounds awful! I hope he is feeling much better soon! I'm sorry for the not great news @easilyunamused. I know you were anxious about it to begin with. I also wonder if he is really just a late walker like some kids? Are they calling it delayed because he won't stand unassisted as well? There are plenty of kids that are perfectly fine and walk beyond 15 months but I wonder if they are saying that because he doesn't want to stand either. I was told at M's 14 month that her speech was considered delayed which seemed a little extra to me but it really hasn't picked up whatsoever but I swear girlfriend just gives no fucks to talk, LOL. Pointing and demanding is how she gets her point across. They said I should call in a month if it doesn't pick up which would be like now but I might give it another month. I would be more worried if I thought she didn't understand. i think you said you felt A understood everything too but i get that it is hard not to worry.

But she seemed confident that he’ll be walking and talking by then.

jt2378, she didn’t specify why they are saying delayed. But I’m guessing it is because he doesn’t stand up unassisted on top of not walking. And A is like M, points and grunts and seems to know what I’m saying so. Idk I’m trying not to stress, kids go at their own pace. But it’s hard not to worry a bit.

king26 L has only been sleeping about 9 hours at night with a few wake ups. Then a one hour nap. She needs more but she’s getting molars and a couple other teeth. bsouls Oh my, DD is the same way in the tub. She’s a maniac and is all over the place all the time. @easilyunamused Just as an anecdote- my DS was similar it sounds like. Didn’t walk until 16 months, and then he was evaluated by early intervention at 18 months. He was delayed in almost all areas, but was completely caught up at 3. You’d never know he had delays now. Maybe your son just needs time, or if not, EI can do wonders for kids! addymac How’s N doing? I hope he’s doing better now!

How is it almost Thanksgiving already? I’m so not prepared for holiday stuff this year. I have no idea what to get the kids.
Poor L is miserable with teeth and molars coming in. Everyone else has been sick so I’m waiting for it to hit her too.

J has one molar in and one that I can feel that is starting to come through and a third that is swollen.

pennylane, glad your DS is caught up. What kind of EIs where done for him? We were in our states EI program- we had a teacher come to the house 2x a month to work with him, attended a weekly playgroup during the school year (to help with his speech/social delays), and worked with a speech therapist once a week. It was a lot for a while- but he made great progress. I know they also had PT/OTs but DS never needed to see those separately. Our EI program also had a lot of community contacts/programs so we had free passes to some toddler activities.

Welp N did fine during the day but a tooth broke through so he’s had loose stool from that and his tummy troubles yesterday and then our nanny said he wasn’t interested in dinner much. So I gave him his nighttime bottle and then while we were reading he puked everywhere, all over the two of us. So that was fun clean up. So excited to be doing laundry at 9:45pm 😫 but also feel like it’s goinf to be a bad night sleep bc if he wakes up I can’t cio I need to console my sick baby. ☹️

We had date night last night for the first time in months and also got that dreadful storm. We were driving home from Boston and it was so icy and horrible, ugh! We would have cancelled but already had concert tickets. We got home at 1:45 and MH had to go plow. He didn’t get in till 5:45. I let him sleep so I was up with the kids at 7:00. He went to work at noon. I have a miserable cold with blocked ears, a dry cough and basically no voice. I’m wishing the day away and cannot get to bedtime quick enough.

No matter how hard I try to keep up I always get to Friday and wonder what happened to my week! J has been hyper as hell and both kids keep waking up in the motn. My allergies are still terrible so I am useless and h has been doing it all. I am pretty sure they broke him today!
And on top of crazy work schedule I still need to clean and organize the house before we leave town and the cat sitter comes over. Ugh...
I hope everyone is feeling better!

@easilyunamused where do you live? My cousins daughter walked late and NYC provided free early intervention. By 2 she was walking and talking like normal even though she was behind at both at 15 months.
