I think that looks like a fun gift for a 6 year old.

Yikes. Ummm not a good gift IMO. How old is he? He's 6. So C would get a huge kick out of this toy. But I know some other kids who would be absolutely terrified. I think it's definitely a "know your audience" and proceed with caution.

vino thanks! Please feel free to share any and all good learning stuff that the kiddos like. That’s and blanket statement for everyone! M gets a mix of things, but I noticed that other than her little people that the toys that were more on the educational end of the spectrum were what survived the toy purge. She loves other toys, but as soon as her attention passes they just end up sitting there.

vino I bought that for M a couple years ago and she never used it. H likes to push things on it but he's not that interested either.

vino we got that for C too! He seems to like the eisle part of it more at the moment but he does sit and play with it. I find that the buttons are SUPER sensitive though so I hear "this is the letter.. this is.. this is.. this is.." every time he reaches for a letter. Or maybe he is doing it on purpose and wants to be a DJ when he grows up. And I agree about educational toys. That's mostly what I'm looking for for C. I have to admit that I have no idea what interests my nephew besides cars, trucks and trains. That's all my BIL/SIL tell us when we ask for ideas. I do try to also include a book or puzzle every year but he's getting to the point where I don't know what he would like.

goldenlove getting toys for other people’s kids is THE WORST. I thought it would be easier once I had one. Nope. We’ve been giving our nephew money for years ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I mean he’s 12 now so it’s probably the only thing he wants at this point anyway so I’m not helping this conversation along at all.

For my nephews and nieces, I send my sister money and she buys them stuff they want. That way I don't have to make any decisions on what they may or may not like.

Almost done, putting this here for any help it might be to others still looking::
AB and AV it’s impossible to say one gets this and one gets that bc they take each other’s stuff anyway so things will have name tags but ultimately it’s all joint
• Yeti Meatball board game / candy land board game (little mature but we’ll give it a shot) • Snow sled • Spelling cards (match it!) • Play Doh cooking set • Music Box - Tamburrine, cymble, etc • Letters/words/numbers tracing activity book (each) • Elsa nylon dress - AV • Boss Baby suit shirt - AB
Stocking - new cups, zebra figure, giraffe figure, Coco coloring book, scratch n sniff stickers, crayon stick bath soap, M&Ms candy cane tube, pop tubes
As a family, I got us tickets to see Disney on Ice Worlds of Enchantment first week in January.
MH: • PDF Investing in Real Estate book (he asked for PDFs, weirdo) • PDF Managing Real Estate book • Get our of jail free card - one “no questions asked” bail for when shit gets rough at home and he doesn’t want to adult, good for up to 3 hours of alone time • Tickets - Colorado Avalanche v Boston Bruins (this is way more than our Xmas gift budget but the date is on our anniversary Feb 10 so we’d be doing something special for that anyway).
Stocking 2019 picture of us - printed, for his desk Nips and chips Scratch offs Ferraro Rocher Beef Jerky Hand lotion for backpack/desk Stress ball

I still have to come up with a family gift; we’re doing White Elephant type thing - or grab bag. Torn between a joke and something someone can actually use since money is tight for a couple family members.
I also have to get a work secret Santa gift. My person asked fr a scarf (hello New England), 2019 calendar, or picture frame.

You can get a three pack of the Zulu balegas for $18! Compared to the $14 single pack of regular balega socks. Exact same quality, just no fun colors.

Just like, alcohol nips. We don’t keep much liquor in the house these days so it’s a little tongue in cheek to go along with the get out of jail free card lol.
