My new nurse today is super overbearing and pushy. I might lose it on her. Hopefully we get to go home in a few hours so I don’t have to deal with her.

Thank you for all the good thoughts. Caleb was born at 3:55 pm yesterday. He’s in the nicu for breathing issues currently and I’m hoping to get to visit him soon. Since we both had complications I didn’t get to hold him until 5 hours after he was born and only for 10 minutes. We are trying to go down to see him again soon just waiting on the nurses to come. I won’t go into too many details for all those people waiting to have their babies. I just know it’s gonna take me some time to process the whole experience.

summerrain hugs. I’m glad he’s here and getting good care in the NICU. I hope you’re getting great care as well. Sending all of my good vibes to you both.

Hugs, hopefully they can get you down the the NICU soon to see him! Is it for transient tachypnea(fast breathing)/fluid in his lungs? The NICU sucks so bad, but hopefully his breathing will regulate soon. I don’t remember If you plan on breastfeeding, but if you do, ask for the NICU Lactation consultant ASAP so you can get a pump set up. The LC at the NICU was super helpful for me. And ask about being able to do skin to skin in the NICU, it helped calm my Caleb when he had to be on CPAP, which he was not happy about, and really helped with my mental state as well. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, it sucks not to have your baby with you, especially after a difficult birth experience. I’ve been exactly in your shoes and it takes a while to feel ok again.

Congratulations on having your precious boy summerrain, I'm sorry it wasn't a good experience and you both have complications. I hope his NICU stay is short and you can see him soon!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this, it sucks not to have your baby with you, especially after a difficult birth experience. I’ve been exactly in your shoes and it takes a while to feel ok again. First, thank you. Yes that is exactly what he’s in for dramaphile. The anesthesiologist was trying to calm me down by telling me how common it is when my baby wasn’t making any noise after he was born. I guess he could just read my face. Between our Caleb’s issues and our after birth issues we have a scary amount of our birth experiences in common. This time I knew what was happening to me though and that made it so much worse as opposed to my young naive self with my oldest. I definitely advocated for a pump last night and had no problems getting one thankfully. I put myself on a pumping schedule in accordance with how often they said he will feed once they get him on bm. Right now he’s just getting dextrose and I’m working on establishing my supply and building up some stash. We are getting skin on skin now. Hugs right back to you and thank you for all the great advice.

Sending love and hugs, summerrain. My C has some breathing issues at birth and the entire NICU team rushed in and it was terrifying. My therapist told me it would hit me randomly and to take my time processing. I hope you get to be with your little guy soon. ❤️

Sending hugs your way, summerrain. You've had a rough go this whole time it seems, and I hope both you and your little boy are able to make smooth as smooth and quick recoveries as possible.

summerrain So many thoughts for you and Caleb! My DD was in the NICU. Not for the same issues as Caleb but being in the NICU is not a “club” you want to join. Please feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to. That’s something I wish I had/ did more. Please be kind to your self. If possible go outside, breathe the fresh air, take a shower. Do what makes you feel human. Hugs mama!

summerrain , I'm so sorry for the difficult experience, but I'm glad you're advocating for both yourself and Caleb. I had a less than ideal birth experience this time around and our little guy ended up back in the hospital after being home for 3 days for transient hypoxia/tachypnea as well. We're home now but its such a scary experience when things don't go according to "plan". I hope Caleb's stay in the NICU is short! Take care of yourself too!

Thank you all for the support. It truly means so much. I’m just trying to take it one day at a time because that’s all I can do.

Still pregnant over here and the hormones have led me to cry over the f’ing bassinet that I’m pretty confident was built by Satan and the directions written by his mistress. My child probably won’t even use it. His sister hated it. I don’t even know why I’m torturing myself.

Crying over difficult-to-assemble furniture isn't hormones, it's damn good sense and the American way.

I just don’t understand why it has to be so difficult to wash and put the cover back on. Whoever designed it is seriously a jerk.

I'm still pregnant. No signs of labor at all. I am really bummed he isn't coming on his own. I really didn't want another induction but it looks like that's what will happen starting either Monday night or Tuesday morning.
I had a massage last week, pedicure, and walked around a ton but my kids like to hang on until the end I guess.

Had a surprise baby shower today ☺️ We got all of the necessities covered. We just need to pick up purified water in case we have to supplement with formula.
Tomorrow I’ll call the furniture place to get DD’s new bed set paid off and delivered. And then order a mattress and sheets off Amazon. Those are really the last big things to get accomplished and then little man is free to enter the world. Eek!

I just wanted to pop in here and say hello. I realize I’ve been absent.. the days have really gotten away from me this week. I don’t know how time is just flying by. It’s so bittersweet. I’m reading and catching up I just haven’t had enough time to sit and comment <3 I’m so excited to see more babies being born and can’t wait to see more! I’m so sorry about the complications summerrain I hope everything moving forward goes a lot smoother.

sarcaztic10 I hope baby comes before your induction! I understand not wanting to be induced again. I’m sending labor vibes your way. I had to be induced my first pregnancy and thankfully this time I went into labor on my own at 41w. It was quite a surprise. Come on baby! Your mama is so ready!

Going in at 12am to start my induction. I am just ready to have a baby instead of being so big and uncomfortable.
