While I’m chatting, here were my rules starting out: Don’t weigh yourself Meal plan (scope out restaurant menus, plan each lunch, have snacks in the house that fit the diet) Use coffee to get through the initial headaches/sugar cravings I gave myself a ton of grace starting out too. I said I wasn’t going to feel bad about anything I ate, as long as it was in the confines of my low carb/no sugar. So if I went HAM on some mozzarella or bacon or whatever, shrug. Still part of the plan. I find it hard to over eat on low carb in general, because protein and fat are filling, but on the occasions when I am having a super hungry day and I can’t stop eating, I let myself eat guilt free as long as it’s still low carb.

I'm definitely trying to focus more on what I eat rather than how much. I figured once I get really good and in the groove, I'll start paying more attention to caloric intake and portion control.

What is Korean ground turkey? A recipe from damn delicious. It’s my easy go to. A pound of ground meat, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 soy sauce, 2 tsp sesame seed oil, 4 garlic cloves, and a bit of ginger. When I wasn’t so low carby I used to make Korean bbq tacos with this marinade That looks delicious. We eat a lot of ground turkey. I wonder if mh will eat it or if it will be too sweet. We'll have to try it though

Sunny41 I do, creaminess is the most important part lol. I tried doing an iced coffee with half a scoop of slimfast protein shake, it's only like 2 carbs I think. It tasted good the first day, the 2nd day I...must have don't something different lol. I'll have to try the premiere brand

I’ll have flavored coffee if it’s brewed, but not if they use pumps. Coffee is like my last vice so I’m not willing to make it less tasty. Especially during the induction phase when you are headachey and low energy.

i'm just cooking low-carb for my H, but since i got tagged i figured i'd share a couple recipes: this weekend i made chicken escabeche and this pot sticker stir-fry. i used bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs for the escabeche and 85/15 ground turkey for the stir-fry. i made a big batch of oven-baked brown rice that i used with both meals just for me and the kids.

More fried cheese and a sad coffee for breakfast today. I'm going to try some of these suggestions to see if I can't get my coffee game in order. Dinner is beef stroganoff and lunch will possibly be those italion wrap things I posted about last week. I'm like theseaword once I find something that is tasty and inside "the guidelines" I stick to it.

I had the low-carb cheesecake at cheesecake factory and it was good. It’s made with Splenda.
Coffee was my sugar vice too. I use to do the whole creamer thing. I faced out the sugar a little at a time. One week I did honey and whole milk. Then the next week I did like a café mixto and did half milk. Now o just do a splash of skim or whatever milk I have at hand.

They just wrapped up a class action lawsuit because the amount of protein they claimed their shakes contained was inaccurate.

We're having Greek chicken and tzastki (sp?) inspired by a Skinnytaste recipe tonight. Side of veggies with some potatoes added for everyone else. Out tomorrow for my mom's bday. Having steak, salad and veggies to balance out a slice of cake. 😬 Chicken taco meat over cauliflower rice with guacamole Tuesday Rest of the week is a mess. Likely chili for Halloween and a to-go salad bar Thursday. Love the Greek chicken recipe

Thanks stroganoff was good again and I made "garlic bread" out of mozzarella and parmesan cheese and eggs with galic seasoning. It was pretty good.

peppapig, cauliflower alone tastes like feet to me. But cauliflower is great at soaking up other flavors. If you would do it to rice- do the same to the cauliflower. We make "fried" cauli rice (soy sauce, a little sesame oil, onions, garlic, maybe an egg) for Asian dishes. and similar to what you'd get in a Mexican restaurant for taco night. If you still don't like cauliflower, maybe just steamed veggies under your bbq bowls?

If you can’t find premier brand, Atkins shakes are really good too - I like the cafe caramel flavor.

Morning! Eating my usual this week, although I did buy some scallops wrapped in bacon from the butcher this weekend so I will be devouring those this week. I accidentally bought Polar black cherry SODA instead of seltzer and I am very sad about it, because black cherry seltzer is my favorite and I was looking forward to it.

I made the most delicious stuffed peppers the other day. I made sausage dip which was a pound of spicy sausage, a half pound of mild sausage, a pound d of ground beef, browned and drained. Two blocks of cream cheese and a can of chipotle Rotel and a can of fire roasted tomatoes not drained. Mixed all that and stuffed into 3 yellow peppers and 3 orange peppers, halved. Baked until they were browned a bit. It will definitely be a regular around here.
Night before last was beanless chili and tonight will be a pork loin in the Crock-Pot with riced loaded cauliflower.
