Both my kids had HFM and never had a fever. H had eczema on his leg and it took a prescription ointment to clear it up. Aquaphor and Aveenon eczema did nothing. Recently our pedi told us that Aveeno exacerbates it for some kids who are sensitive to wheat, and we never saw much relief with Aquaphor. LUSH Dream Cream and Cerave have worked best for X, and of course prescriptions sometimes when his allergies really pick up. For anything mild, I find that the Eucerin eczema relief works well, but I had a non-steroidal cream prescription from the pediatrician when he’s had a rougher flare. I’m out of it, but I don’t know what’s on his face is actually eczema. He also woke up an absolute snotty mess morning, so it could be a cold coming his way.

cagoldi, I'm a big fan of Cerave for the kids too. I use the baby body wash for B still, along with the cream. The weather turned and B's skin took a hit. I have to get better at applying creams. I usually use a combination of the Cerave cream and aquafor (alternating). I use some hydrocortisone on the really bad spots.

guster, When C gets that it is usually impetigo, which requires an antibiotic cream or oral antibiotics.
