bunnyfungo the 8th seat, is it between the middle row? So if it was folded down it could be two Captain's chairs?

When I was looking for a minivan I was dead set on a sienna. One thing to keep in mind is to see where all of your top teacher locations are and where you would prefer to put kids. I have seen too many people trying to figure out the easiest way to get the kids where they want but can't because of the teather situation on car seats for the littles. I believe the sienna was one that has 2 in the back as well as the 2 captain chairs.

My town and country does fine in WI (though I'm not in the boondocks). I pined for a Honda Pilot but got another T&C last year. I like it but wish that I would have at least checked out the Honda Odyssey.

I also have an Odyssey. I love that there is actually plenty of leg room in the third row. My husband is 6'4 and can fit back there. We can also fit our double stroller in the back with the third row up. So much room.

Get something that can fit people and car seats. I am sad we didn't get the Oddessy and went with the Caravan. There are not enough top tether hooks and the one in the back is in an odd spot, so living in this van makes me curse.

What's the difference between certified pre-owned and used? Is it to do with the warranty or who backs the purchase?

Buy used. I drive a 2013 Odyssey that we bought in 2015. I cried real tears when we left the dealer--my Rav-4 was fun to drive. And I was 7 or 8 months pregnant.
I will concede that it is convenient. And all the cup holders are actually necessart with small kids.
Someday when my H's car dies we will replace with something fun to drive.

I love our odyssey. Hondas are tough since they don't typically have a ton of incentives but they really are such a good value. They just came out with a new model so maybe you could find a good deal on used??

I have a Sedona, and I love it! We found it to be comparable to the Honda and Toyota, but in our price range. We also have an almost 6 year old Kia Sportage that we have had no problems with, so that helped make our decision.

I'm drooling over this thread. I need a mini-van in my life. Now if I could just get my H on board...

My odessey is 10 years old (it was pre-owned by my mom) and still looks and drives amazing. Just under 100k miles and I have had two maintenance issues. One was my fault, I tore the splash shield off on a curb. The other was a small ac leak, but was under $100 and they said that part usually only last 5-7 years and I got 9 out of it. I love love my van.
My two things I would get no matter the brand. Automatic doors (God save in busy parking lots). Leather seats (still look brand new. H takes it every other month to get 'deep' cleaned for $100 and they treat leather).

I love my Traverse. We have bucket seats in the middle and I actually store one in the floor and make a huge aisle. DD2 is in the other bucket seat, and the two older kids in the back. It gives us more space for groceries, suitcases etc. And if we need to take another person with us, It just pops out of the floor! I have an Equinox now and wanted to look into the Traverse. Good to know!!

We have an AWD Sienna and I LOVE it! We have two kids in the back FF and the little one RF in one of the middle row captains chairs.

Another vote for the Odyssey. I was torn between the Honda Odyssey & the Toyota Sienna when we were looking, & one of the deciding factors for me was that every seat in the Odysseys had the anchor required for forward facing car seats, whereas not as many seats in the Sienna were equipped with this (the newer models may be now). Also the middle seat in the 2nd row is bigger & more usable (car seat wise) in the Odyssey also.
ETA: I should add that I'm one of those people who never thought I would own a van. And here I am & it's literally my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. So practical, so roomy. I have nothing but love for my van.

Where do you live? Sienna was a no brainer for us because of the AWD. I've had it for just over a year and am very happy with it. We got a 2013 certified pre-owned. We have 2 rear facing seats in the middle row and there's plenty of room for my tall husband. I can't fit my double bob in the back unless both rear seats are down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk A day later, but I also have a Sienna and I can fit my double Bob stroller in the back. I lay it on its side when it's folded. I've got four car seats (an extra for carpool) so putting the back row down isn't an option for me.
