@ges072115 my christmas's are stressful like that too. Last year santa came to our house on the 26th or 27th because we were at the in laws on Christmas eve. I think MIL would like us to spend every xmas eve/day there because she drove her kids to their grandparents and santa came there every year. Its so hard to make everyone in the extended family happy I feel like our immediate little family loses out. It's hard. We live 4.5 and 6 hours from our parents. We used to alternate Thanksgiving and Christmas, but two years ago decided not to travel at all. Now it's passive aggressive comments from my MIL, well, I know you guys won't be here for Christmas, etc. on one side and my mom saying that celebrating on a day that isn't December 25th "just isn't the same" on the other. We'll see them at another time during the season, but we're doing Christmas Eve/Day at home.

Weeks pregnant/Due date: 14 weeks today! 4/22/19 Baby is the size of a: nectarine FTM/STM/TTM/etc: FTM Team: finding out THIS WEEK!!!! via blood test. Still convinced its a girl. Appointments: 10/31 and anatomy scan 11/15 Symptoms: constipation, nausea, still some dysgeusia. Milestones: Second tri, second tri! *fist pumps like its 2008* Rants/Raves/Vents: Work blah blah blah - on the positive, H and I and the 2 pups took a long weekend to western North Carolina and stayed in a beautiful cabin waaaay up in the mountains. Super peaceful and relaxing. We saw one car the entire time we were at the house. I also get to go home to Boston for an interview on Thursday and just being in that city brings me comfort. GTKY: What's your favorite holiday? It's always been Valentine's Day, but for some reason, I am really feeling Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. Apparently H and I suck at guessing, because we're having a baby BOY!! Add me to Team Blue <3

@ges072115 I feel you on the stress of coordinating Christmas. H’s family always celebrates Christmas the weekend before, which used to be great because I always saw my family for Christmas. By this year that would mean driving all day on Christmas Eve, either to spend Christmas alone at our house or to my sisters house where my parents will be. It stinks. lemondrop Congrats on your son!!

Re Christmas: Last year by the time we had done xmas with my family xmas eve, and a big brunch with presents for EVERYONE son Dh's side Christmas Day that by the time we got to MIL house in the evening. DD did not want anything to do with more presents. My gift giving love language MIL was not happy. Fortunately my parents are auper flexible so we are going to move their stuff off Christmas Eve this year and hope it helps. In my dreams we stay home all day by ourselves but I know this will never happen.

lemondrop I totally thought my daughter was a boy and my son a girl. People ask me what I think this one is and I am like, I have cravings like my daughter pregnancy and acne like my sons. I believe I have no ability to guess if its a boy or girl at this point.

Regarding Christmas, both parent sets wanted us to alternate staying Christmas eve night. I put my foot down once DD was 2. I want to be Santa and wake up on Christmas morning in my own house, and for her to have those memories. I don't mind Christmas eve or Christmas day dinner somewhere.
But I'm getting the Christmas pjs, setting out cookies, Christmas morning brunch... they had their chance when us adult kids were little!
Now that my mom is gone and in laws live in another state, I think we're going to settle into Christmas eve with my side and in law Christmas whenever we can fly/get together.
Christmas.

I believe I have no ability to guess if its a boy or girl at this point. it's so funny, I'm SUCH a pro at guessing other people's babies, that I was so confident about my own. Clearly the kid was fucking with me, lol. Plus the only "boy" symptom I've had is craving more salty foods. All the other old wives tale stuff has all been girl girl girl. I'm off and running buying boy stuff like no one's business, but I don't think I'm really going to truly believe it until the anatomy scan lol.

Total AW, had our Anatomy Scan yesterday and I think it all looked good, I’ll get official results on Monday when I see the doc. Baby boy was by far my most cooperative baby yet! Both my girls made us come back for second appointments to see everything. This was also the appointment with D1 where they discovered my cervix was shortening prematurely, and with D2 where we got really scary news about her placentas - so I feel like I can exhale a bit because I know when it’s really serious they don’t just send you on your way home.
