You know what I love about baseball in the us? That people who root for different teams can sit side by side in a stadium, if a player makes a good play, everyone can appreciate it not matter which side you’re on, kids can come to a game without being engulfed in profanities and swear words. It is just fun! Soccer in our country is very very different, supporters from different teams are kept apart, people get banned from stadiums, there are actual games played without supporters because it is to dangerous. It is beyond ridiculous. It's not always like this. I have been to some Yankees/Red Sox games that have gotten very ugly. People kicked out 2 rows in front of us for fighting, etc. Yup, though I've never seen it when either team is playing anyone else. Yankees and Sox fans can get hot headed pretty quickly. And like others have mentioned, football games bring out the worst in people. I remember leaving a Chargers game early (not sure if we were in Baltimore or Philly - it was years ago) while they were down. They came back to win while we were already in the parking lot and we were relieved to not be there. DH would have been a huge target in his Chargers jersey. Yay sportsmanship.

Actually I just remembered that poor Giants fan who was beaten after a game at Dodgers stadium. Yikes. Why do fans get so damn rabid about sports?

I think the difference between baseball games and football games is that there are so many more of them and the season is longer for baseball. That makes the games/concessions cheaper and people don’t make into as big of an event.

J has gone to a bunch of MLB games and they are targeting families and making them family friendly (prob bc the O's are horrible and trying to boost attendance). If they were in the playoffs I wouldn't take him for a few years though, same with opening day.
I'd prob take him to a college football game now, maybe next time my school plays locally I'll bring j. I don't do NFL though, but I probably would take j to a day game if weather was okay and we were into it.
We do college basketball games at my work, they have a kids club I need to join.

They are overly passionate about their sports. Trust me, I had to ban sports talk in out office for a few months because of verbal arguments between coworkers.

Morning.
MH is with M2 at the pedi to get checked out. He had a pretty good night. Low grade fever came back after he woke up this morning. I’ll be leaving work after lunch so he can go to work. M has a make up soccer game tonight. Not sure if I’ll make it depending on how M2 is doing.

I love Camden Yards and have been to a bunch of games there back when MH lived in MD. I always felt safe there in my Yankees Jersey and would I love to bring the boys there sometime. I thought it was a great place to see a game. And the food was on point.

My MIL has taken M to the Texans game. But they didn't tailgate beforehand and where they're season ticket seats are it's a bunch of old people. Lol. Lots of them bring their grandkids. When my parents had Jags season tickets they were in the club level and this is how it was. In fact my mom used to get frustrated bc she felt like half the people in their section were just there to socialize and not watch the game lol. eta: I've seen rowdy fans at college games (usually on the student side) but in general I think college sports are fairly family friendly, and anyone that misbehaves is quickly escorted out and/or sent to the drunk tank. We started going to Gator games as toddlers.

We’re back! I’m trying to nap Charlie and he isn’t having it. He consistently tells me when I put him to bed that this is not his room — he sleeps in Josie‘s room now. But then no one would sleep, so not happening.

Love it nam2013! Also, hello all! Busy morning...DH took B to school so I was able to spend the first part of the morning cleaning out/purging the kids' drawers (I did closets this weekend). C and I got dropped some stuff at a consignment shop, went to Barnes & Noble for new books, and hit the grocery store. I'm making a casserole for dinner so I'm going to start that now so I can relax later on.

Hi guys!! I feel like I’ve been a bad friend this week! Lucas has fall break this week and we’ve been nonstop on the go. I have been reading along and cagoldi I’m so happy for you!! Also thank you everyone who gave me good advice/commiserated with me about Ryland last. I sat down with his teacher and I think we have a good plan in place to nip his “mean boy” behavior in the bud. He also had a good learning moment when Landon and his friends were leaving him out. Anyway, not much here except the weather is finally cooling down! I’m currently in leggings and a sweatshirt and am so happy about.

Anyone have recommendations on a good Halloween or fall-themed book for kids? I am the mystery reader Tuesday next week and have no clue what book to bring.

I was looking up one off my favourites, but it hasn’t been translated, and saw this one. I don’t know it but it looks adorable, I’m a sucker for pretty picture books. Fletcher and the falling leaves - Julia rawlinson Goodbye summer, hello autumn- kenard Pak Looks cute too.

Room on the Broom, There Was an Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything, and Bonaparte Falls Apart are other good ones.

Anyone have recommendations on a good Halloween or fall-themed book for kids? I am the mystery reader Tuesday next week and have no clue what book to bring. Is this for M1's class? Room on a Broom would be fun, same author as The Gruffalo, IIRC. Another one I like is Click Clack Boo (part of the 'Click Clack Moo--Cows that Type' series). eta: A kind of spooky book is The Ghost Eye Tree. You might have to order from Amazon, it's older, but it's a good fall book. B loves that one and it reads aloud well, if that makes sense. I think my mom read that one to my class in K I was at B&N today and they had a huge fall/Halloween table set up in the kids' section if you want to browse.

Thanks for all the recommendations everyone! I’ll check them all out and probably order a few for the house and bring one of those to read next week!
