So J has been sttn about 3 times a week. However when he does he is up at 5. I need him to sleep 8 to 6 but he is struggling. When he wakes up once he sleeps until 6. He is still going between 1 nap and 2 for those of you on 1 nap, what time is that nap? I'm trying to get a gauge of when to put him down.
I'm also worrying because he still isnt walking. He has no interest in walking on his own. He runs with his push Walker and gets around the house holding on to the walls and cruising.
Eating has been better. He isnt choking or gagging as much. I feel like I feed him the same thing he all the time though. Breakfast is always yogurt and fruit. Lunch varies. Dinner is usually chicken or beef, a pouch, and veggie.
What veggies do you feed your baby? I'm struggling with this because they have to be cooked. He cant eat raw veggies at all.
Anyone still give their kid pouches? I do for the veggie factor.
How much milk are you giving your kid? I feel like maybe I'm giving him too much. He has some when he wakes up, after both naps, and before bed
Yep, I'm full of questions today

king26, I read that if your LO is going for 1 nap, to try to make it around 1 or 2pm. But, I’m no help. After 6 good days of 2 naps in the crib a day, he’s back to not wanting to nap at all in the crib. Like right now, he’s tired AF, but just yelling and not sleeping. What veggies do you feed your baby? Sweet potato, green beans, carrots, pickles, butternut squash, zucchini, not a veggie but he loves black beans. Anyone still give their kid pouches? We’ve never given pouches really. He just squeezes it all out. How much milk are you giving your kid? He’s still not interested in milk, but we are nursing still so I’m not stressed. A also isn’t super interested in walking yet either. He will use the walker everyday, but doesn’t every try to stand unassisted or want to walk holding our hands.

king26 R still gets two naps. When T went down to one nap, she would take a morning nap and bedtime was 7pm. She’d usually be up for three hours and then nap for two. We only give milk in sippy cups three times a day. We fill the cup half way. T didn’t walk until 16 months. She had no interest and was a good crawler. R doesn’t really like vegetables and she doesn’t seem to like citrus fruits. H sometimes gives a pouch (he holds it for her), but I think they’re kind of a waste. Most are combined with fruit, so they’re not really getting the taste for vegetables. The nutrition is really their and they’re not experiencing the texture.

@easilyunamused, it says we are 3 days till it starts but we are already in it. She currently screeches in an ear piercing way, ugh king26, she goes down usually between 12:30-1:30 for a nap. She doesn’t drink all that much milk but still nursing. We do give pouches, especially when out and about. For veggies we give carrots, zucchini, peas (she isn’t a fan though but I keep trying lol),!potato, squash and broccoli. My first didn’t walk till almost 14 months. Your still at a point where I would definitely not be concerned.

This leap is a beast. A has been so cranky and crabby, it’s exhausting. Anyone else going through this leap yet? D. entered leap 9 yesterday according to the app. She's been a bit of a cranky beast mostly in the evenings/nights, but that may wellbe because of yet another molar trying to pop through. AND she's got another headcold, is totally stuffed up and snot keeps running out of her nose.. Why does this always happen together with teething, or is it BECAUSE of these teethies coming through? Either way, poor kid, she can hardly drink and eat without running out of breath heh. During the day she's pretty cool, though definitely cheeky-ish and starting to try things out just to see what we respond with.

king26This is the schedule we sort of follow with D. At wake up nurse followed by porridge for breakfast (sometimes with some fruit mixed in). Mid-morning snack is fruit. Bread for lunch. A cracker as mid-afternoon snack. She'll nurse before naps (I often still nurse to sleep.. LOL) and sips water out of her miracle 360 cup throughout the afternoon. If she takes a 2nd nap she nurses then or she'll nurse before dinner. Dinner consists of mashed potato with veggies, and fruit and or yoghurt for desert. Then I nurse her before bedtime. We used to give her a small bottle of formula before bed (after nursing) but she's been refusing it lately so now I don't even bother. I guess whatever she gets from the boob still is enough for her now. What veggies do you feed your baby? potatoes, green beans, flat beans, carrots, peas, spinach, brocolli, cauliflower, zuchinni, mushrooms, , sweet potatoe, cucumber, saurkraut&potato mash (tried this once, not a succes though not sure whether that was the saurkraut or just cause she wasn't feeling well already), beans (she liked them but I swear they made her quite gassy) She also gets fruit at least twice a day (apple, pear, prunes, mango, banana, etc) Anyone still give their kid pouches? We never really did pouches? How much milk are you giving your kid? Since she's still nursing several times a day, she's not getting any additional milk except for what I use to make her porridge in the morning (still using formula or BM for that though). For desert she gets some yoghurt..

Today has been...difficult to say the least. It was supposed to be my morning to sleep in, A woke at 6:15am and screamed the whole time MH had him. Needless to say, there was no sleeping in for me.
The day has gotten progressively worse, so much crying and whining. Refused both his naps and wants to just nurse all day. It’s raining and cold, so I can’t even escape for a walk. We’ve already watched 2 movies today. 🤦🏼♀️ And it’s only 2:30. And MH went fishing for the day.

Maybe he is feeling unwell cause of teethies or a cold or such? No cold, fortunately. It could be teeth, but he’s not grabbing at his mouth or drooling at all, which are normal signs. He’s just in a funky mood today. 😆

It’s definitely draining. Almost back to newborn status where I can’t even put him down long enough to do the dishes.

Ok J has about 20 to 25 ounces of milk a day so we are good there. Yeh the pouches I buy are all for 12 months+ and he likes them so... Also what is up with early wake ups. J Wales up between 5 and 6. I'm ok with 6 because that's when I get up for work but 5 is brutal. I've instituted the I wont get you before 530 rule but hearing him cry is rough in the mornings. king26DD 1 nap is usually 11:30-1:30 so I do early lunch and snack after waking up ETA: DD used to sleep 8-8. And for no reason she stated sleeping 8-6 so I shifted bedtime to 7. Now she sleeps 7-6. I’m keeping my extra hour. We wake up at 6. This is my life. I do use pouches still. They are great for traveling, I don’t normally use when home . I buy these ones called tot something it’s meant for the bigger kids. DD eats mostly cooked vegetables as well. Her favorite is corn. She likes to bite raw carrots but doesn’t actually eat them. Her new favorite thing is to waste an apple by bitting into it and spitting it out and doing this until she has chewed up the entire apple and it’s a disaster. Must feel good in the teeth. Some times she actually eats the entire apple. I’m very confused on what the determining factor is in eating or not eating the apple My doc said 20- 25 ounces of milk a day so 8 ounces when she wakes up. 8 ounces after lunch before nap. 8 ounces before bed. Water all day in a cup and with meals.

She seems to wake usually 5:30 or 6:00 but I feed her and put her back down and she does go back to sleep sometimes till like 8:00 or later but this is probably why she has a late bedtime 🤷🏻♀️ can’t win them all I guess.

Both of my kids sleep from about 8-6 +/- a half hour depending on the day. DD sometimes takes one nap, other days it’s 2. It kind of depends how much we end up in the car. On the days DS has preschool, she sometimes falls asleep on the way to pick him up at noon and it throws the whole day off. I hope we soon get on a consistent nap schedule for my sanity.
Since we are moving in 2 weeks, we have boxes of stuff randomly packed all over the house. Well, L must think cardboard is delicious bc she won’t stop trying to chew the boxes. 🤦🏻♀️

@starzia The apple story made me laugh. king26. Toddler H sleeps about 8-6 but will usually mumble and play in the crib and sleep for another hour. At daycare he only takes 2 40 min naps and then sometimes a super weird nap at 6 pm wick makes me think he won't sleep. Ds1 slept 9-5:30 with a couple wake ups no matter what we did. Veggies are a struggle for us too. I do the little canned plastic cups of beans, carrots and peas and then steamed broccoli, sweet potato, mushroom, and diced tomatoes and stir fried red peppers. I refused to do canned veggies for ds1 because I read they were bad, so now he refuses almost all veggies ( which he may have anyway; who knows) We are having trouble with leap 9 too. He is much more particular and fussy and was devastated when I made him wear a band-aid on a deep paper cut. Positively, he suddenly loves books with peekaboo flaps whereas before he thought books were another food group. Oh and he just started walking a week shy of 14 months. I didn't count it as walking till he took more than five steps. We got him much sturdier shoes, and a little tijes shopping cart to push and it seemed to really help. The guidance now is really soft shoes, so I was confused, but the sturdy ones were better for him.

So yesterday and today we tried the one nap. He woke up later both days so nap was 10 to 12 but then he was up for like 7.5 hours. However, last night he slept from 730 to 610 with 1 wake up which is unheard of. It felt good to get some solid sleep for all 3 of us. Our problem now will be moving the map later. Hes struggling with staying up 4 hours in the morning but hes cranky by like 6 in the evening. Oh well. We will figure something out

They are learning so much new stuff that they just have trouble sleeping. 3 weeks ago we had the week from hell. J was up between 1 and 3 times a night for 5 nights which hasn't happened in months. Then the last 2 weeks have been great. Either sttn ot up once so who knows. Hopefully it's just a quick phase for you!

I just realized I have not checked in in over a week! J is a beast, up 3-4 times a night screaming and a bottle is the only thing to calm him. I am trying to take them away! His last two teeth are coming in and then this better stop...
I leave for Portugal for a work conference tonight so I will probably go MIA again, sorry!

We do have a set dinner and he has what we have but breakfast and lunch are all over the place. When my kids are at daycare they eat just fine. At home it is a hot mess. He drinks milk like it's his job. We are trying to cut back because the doctor said it might make him anemic.
