LO has been talking about the tooth fairy for a few months now. He always mentions gold coins. So I getting some dollar coins to give him.

tgrimes, C wouldn't really be able to understand the concept of $1 vs $5 dollars I don't think. Unless I was taking him to the store and he had to pick something within that budget. I hope it goes well for you guys today! Poor girl.

My friend always got a gold dollar coin from the tooth fairy, I was so jealous! They went on vacation once and someone broke into their house and stole them all, I felt so bad for her. |

My 6 y/o has his first loose tooth, so you guys are right on time with the tooth fairy talk. I need to get on that. I've done a letter from the tooth fairy before, so might work on something fun.

tgrimes I hope everything goes smoothly for M! I'd say 'go big' on the first one, then scale back for subsequent teeth. I feel like that's what my parents did so that's what I plan to do. Also team No Glitter. I'll probably be the parent raiding my kids' piggy banks for tooth fairy money, since I *NEVER* have cash. I should probably keep some small bills on hand when the time comes.

DH took B to school today so C and I have been around the house making appointments (everyone needs teeth cleanings, even the dog) and doing laundry and housework. Exciting stuff!

Hello. Baby didn’t sleep. I spent the morning emailing all the class parents who didn’t shoe up to the meeting last night. Now I’m getting ready to meet a teacher I used to work with who retired for a nice long lazy lunch, my new favorite activity.

I think 1 $/€ would be plenty at this age, but if my kids are like me, their first tooth won’t come out until they’re 8/9, so who am I to talk. I had to have all of my teeth pulled by the dentist because they wouldn’t come out on their own. Except for one that I dug out on my own the night before my appt. I didn’t want to get the shot in my mouth again. Damn. I lost the last one my sophomore year of high school... |

I'm at the water park with the kids. A and my aunt, uncle and mom went on a 3 hour tequila tour. I'm getting another massage tomorrow morning since it's our last day here. I plan to snorkel off our beach later today. No sea turtles this close but I love the fish. And I saw a star fish 2 days ago so maybe I'll see something cool like that again.
The trip has been better than I thought but since starting my period I'm bitter that I'm stuck in the room for 3 hours every afternoon while the boys nap and A gets tipsy at lunch and hangs by the pool. I'm ready to go home. I haven't been able to work as planned due to connection issues so I have a mountain of work waiting for me at home. I'm anxious about it and just want to get it done.

I would think more for the first tooth and then a smaller around for the subsequent teeth. I also love the glitter money, plus the little mini notes/treats nonsense surrounding the tooth fairy. I don’t know what I’ll do, but I’m a fan of the extra. Same. We'll probably do a little money and a few small treasures. |

We’re home. Apparently the screaming I heard was M yelling at the dentist after he was done.
Only my kid would do something like that.
We’ll have to go back for the space maintainer because she wasn’t having it.

This is an excellent point. My children could very well end up with $20 a tooth because I’d have to run to the ATM each time. I do like the idea of gold coins. That’s something easy to get in bulk, that would never be used. Maybe I should put that on my future to do list. |

Unrelated/related: the old wives tale on my mom’s side of the family was that if you had AF, you could not go anywhere near the tomato canning process in late summer. You’d get a bad batch bc of it. No one specifically asked you to sit out because it was still private information, but it was well known ahead of time that you should be respectful of the superstition. |
