Do any of you sell the stuff you sew? I have people asking for a price on the hoodie I made for myself. I have enough fabric to make 1, maybe 2 more.

Last month, I finished a baby blanket and a scarf. I need to weave in the ends on both. Before Christmas, I have to get another baby blanket, a throw blanket, and a shawl done. I have my yarn arts group on Thursday, which is good, because I'm a little confused by the pattern for the shawl.

I've sold plushies and taken commissions for dice bags and dice trays, but I still feel weird about how much to charge and probably way under-charge for my time on the plushies. But I also do it mostly for fun and a little extra cash and it's usually friends I sell to. I'd say price it as what feels worth it to you, once you factor in materials cost.

I need to make myself a BB-8 baby bump Halloween costume by next weekend for Boo at the Zoo- I'm thinking it'll be a circle of white felt or fleece with felt applique sewn on that I can tie/attach to my belly. Nothing too complicated. I also have a commission for a couple of Narwhal plushies, but am waiting for the girl to get back to me on some options. And cloth postpartum pads and breast pads for after baby comes. I just ordered some supplies, hopefully they get here soon, my due date's in 25 days!

Pistol love the hoodie! I need one. I've been buying those from Amazon for $20ish. I wonder if making my own would be cheaper.

Pistol do you have a serger? Or anyone else here? I'm considering asking for one for xmas. I currently have a Brother 6000i that I love, and would love to have a serger as well, but there's such a huge range of price and quality and I have no idea where to start. Is it worth it to get a lower-end one? At this point I'm not making that much stuff, but would love to be able to use it to make clothes and possibly cloth pads, diaper inserts etc.

It’s ancient. 😂 I’ve heard the brother 1034D mentioned a lot for beginners but I kinda want to play with a babylock. Brother will be the more affordable option but the babylock has some way to auto thread the loopers which would be amazing. I used my regular sewing machine and a stretch stitch to make clothes and diapers up until this summer.

But I used ponte de Roma which is likely heavier than what you are ordering. And I bought mine at Joann’s but sosewenglish.com has it cheaper and should be just as nice or nicer as Joann’s.

I'll probably look around for used as well and see what I can get for a similar price

My mom bought a box of stuff for like $10 and the serger was in there. It really does do a fine job! We ordered a foot pedal (the original was missing) for $15-20 on the internet and I downloaded the manual and printed it off. Works just fine for me! And I have $0 in it! 😂😂

I’m starting the new CAL from Scheepjes! It’s by the same designer as the Sophie’s Universe blanket (which I’m almost finished with, except I keep having to buy more yarn). So far the Ubuntu is gorgeous!

I'm blocking a baby blanket today. I still need to weave in the ends on the scarf.
I also really need to get my next project on needles, but I procrastinating because two of them require provisional cast ons (which I absolutely loathe but don't have a better way to make matching end ruffles) and I'm confused about the pattern for the third and am waiting to ask a friend about it.

I've started working on the stocking advent calendar I've been dreaming of (for 3 years lol): I'm going to put little toys or candies in each; I just have to decide how exactly and where I'm hanging them; maybe a garland around the double doors to our parlor.

I just started on a double knit Dr Who scarf for my BIL. This is my first real attempt at it, and may have had to rip it out a few times last night and this morning and restart it, but i think I've finally got the hang of it. Its also my first time using bamboo needles, and I think its love.

rainbowsockmonkey, Is there a name for that technique? I've only done intarsia when trying to use different colours and I always get tangled with so many strings out the back. It looks like you are bringing both colours all the way across?

It looks like you are bringing both colours all the way across? Its called double sided knitting. You knit/purl both colors. Here's the video i used to learn how to do it.

Finished my Halloween costume and wore it to an event over the weekend. It’s a fleece base with felt sewn on top and elastic to hold it on. I tacked the head to my shirt because i couldn’t find any safety pins lol. hubby and DD dressed as Chewie and Rey. Going to finish yesterday’s project tonight, it’s a cute unicorn hoodie cowl for DD. Just need to grab some buttons for the closure and figure out how to use the button hole foot on my machine. Will post pics when it’s done

Does anyone have any good tips/videos for intarsia? Colorwork intimidates me.

I made this today. I'm nervous to give it to my sister. She had something similar on her wish list (that's out of stock currently) but different color/type. I'm overthinking this aren't I?

My crafting motivation allows me to join this board approximately 3 times a year. I hemmed a dress this summer and before that made my second kid’s Easter basket. But this week I made ds some bat wings for Halloween! Now I just have to convert a headband into some bat ears.
The collar has a snap button and there are thumb holes on the wings so he should be able to get it on/off with no assistance at preschool.
poof.

Made my girl a mermaid tail for her Halloween costume. I'll be making some tentacles for my Ursula costume as well. And yes, I'll be making her a top as well, it's just not done yet.

I've been having so many issues with my Cricut lately that it's just turned into an expensive paperweight. I finally called and they were actually really really nice considering all three kids were not being quiet at freaking all. Fx they come up with a fix for my mahcine.

I'm about six inches and two ruffles from being done with the last of the baby blankets I need to get done. Then a short break to get hats done for bonzo to be mailed by the 15th. Then I really, really need to get the shawl for a family member on the needles since I'm not entirely sure I know what I'm doing there. (Pattern is a little confusing.) I also have another throw blanket to finish by Christmas. ::breathes into paper bag:: I can do this.
