flamingo , you wash your linens again after unpacking from a box? I have never done that. Yes, b/c our moves (except the last one, b/c of timing) are typically professionally packed, so that means strangers handling my stuff. Hence why I bag everything in advance. Also, ours are usually long-distance, so stuff is on trucks for days or weeks (or in storage). Things come out smelling musty otherwise. And moving trucks are filthy. Just easier to take everything out of bedding bags and know it's all clean and ready to go on the beds or in closets. |

mwhip I’m sorry for your loss. My DD wore a bright pink dress to my grandma’a funeral. It was grandma’s favorite color so I thought it was fine. She wore a black dress with big pink flamingos on it to the wake.

We are moving about 3 miles away, but feels like cross country. We are really feeling sad about leaving our areas but it's only 10-15 min drive to come back, lol. Starting to think about these are the lasts of certain things. We are such saps, it's going to be a rough one getting through this. We moved into our building when we were just dating 11 years ago! I cried so much the night before we left the townhouse. It was where we brought our babies home, where MH proposed to me, the last time I saw my parent healthy and alive. It was a lot to say goodbye to. I'm already preparing to come unglued when we leave this house. We've been here over eleven years. So many memories. It's the only house three of them remember, and the biggest one barely recalls anything else. |

H is causing a frenzy at the urologist's office. When he first called to tell them he needed his operation redone they said he needed to drop off a sample first. When he said "Why? I have a baby...I know it did not work." The receptionist actually had the gall to say they needed to be sure because "there could be paternity issues." Wow.
So, he gives the sample...there is sperm present (so, yes we are still married) and they are still trying to discredit him and get out if redoing it! They said they have never had this happen before, so there is no procedure in place for next steps. Well, it happened, so you might want to get on it. I told him to call the lead doc in the practice and raise hell. And I would like an apology, tyvm. Paternity issues, my ass.

tallb when we moved i brought the plants, important kitchen stuff, and our food over myself via car. I even unpacked the kitchen and went grocery shopping so when we got there on actual moving day, we had food and utensils/etc. to use. If i moved and it was close enough, i would do that again.

dapostrophe That same situation happened to my old boss (we were close and talked about really random shit). His wife came up pregnant (surprise) with their third and they went to the urologist, who actually had the nerve to say, with her in the room, that it might not be his. I guess my boss had to hold his wife back from hitting the doctor. It's a pretty shitty thing of a doctor to say. I hope you guys get it resolved quickly.
