@kokopelli & unicornofthesea - I think you guys are the ones who asked me about Hillsong. Here are the details: The church is essentially a cult. You’re required to drop thousands of dollars on seminars. And you’re constantly asked to make additional contributions called “love funds.” Even though the church makes hundreds of millions of dollars, it only gives 15% back to charitable activities. Bieber, Chris Pratt, the Kardashians and Jenners, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens are all members. The church was started in Australia in 1977 by Frank Houston. Frank was a serial child molester. He admitted it in one case and was removed from his position in the church. But Enty says there are 9 additional confirmed victims. There was an investigation into the one victim. The victim was the son of a family friend and Frank sexually assaulted him for years, until he reached puberty. The current leader of the church, Brian, is Frank’s son. He helped cover up the crimes. The victim was offered $10k to keep quiet. During a phone call with the victim, Brian told the victim “you know this is your fault. You tempted my father.” One of the presenters on their YouTube channel called Fearless is a domestic abuser who broke his girlfriend’s nose. They won’t discuss their views on gay marriage. They only stopped conversion therapy in 2014. And no LGBT members are permitted to be in leadership roles. |

I am legitimately shocked about hillsong. I grew up in church singing Hillsong United/Joel Houston songs.
Edited to say, unfortunately it's not hard for me to believe it. My heart breaks for those victims.

I didn't have a prom date because I didn't want to worry about asking someone and getting turned down so I went dateless. It was fine. I ended up making out with like 3 different guys at the after party though so...
Also I wore my prom dress to the soccer banquet like a week later because I was just over all of it by then. I am slightly embarrassed about that, but I'm not sure if anyone even noticed anyway.

I had a spiky asymmetrical cut a la Kate Gosselin, but this was back in 2002-03 and before her 15 minutes of fame, so I think she stole it from me. For which I am deeply apologetic.

Idk why this irks me so much but I hate when any woman’s pixie/above ear /asymmetrical cut is grouped into that bunch, it feels almost sexist to me like a woman can’t have short hair without being type cast as an overly- assertive bitch. It’s an extra weird hill for me to be on since I’ve never had hair shorter than chin length since puberty. |

I couldn’t afford to go to prom but no one asked me anyway. I went to the ‘cool’ after party and some guy threw up beside me and some got on me.

Well I didn’t make it to my prom because I left HS in the middle of 10th grade and was “homeschooled”. Mostly because I was asked to leave by the principal. I certainly didn’t win the most behaved award.
Funnily enough, a few years later, coworkers were talking about their proms. One girl turned to me and said I probably wouldn’t know about their embarrassing stories since I was most likely prom queen. Always interesting on how others perceive you.
