Project Runway without Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn is like The Oprah Winfrey Show without Oprah.
No, thank you.

I'm 32 and I just cannot fathom being in any sort of relationship (barring sexual only I guess) with a 20 year old. What do they talk about? Is he going to meet her kids?

I just feel bad for that guy's dirty Converse knockoffs. They look like my 3 year old see kai runs. Dirt and all.

I am ok in my UO that an 11 year old shouldn't be drinking wine nor does it make them more mature. Lebron isn't in Europe he is in the United States so all the anecdotes really aren't making me change my mind

When I was in my early thirties I "dated" a guy in his early 20's,22 maybe? Anyway there wasn't much to talk about but we had a great time for the summer. I would think she is just getting her kicks and he is getting famous( he might already be famous but I've never heard of him before.)

I work around kids daily, ranging from 6-18. I don't think giving an 11 or 14 year old a glass of wine at dinner, holiday or not, this is something I'd be breezy about. I get buzzed off of a glass. I'm sorry but I'm not okay with that.

And just thinking of this on a entirely different level... these kids will be in the spotlight forever, will have endless funds and a glamorous life (see picture above all Gucci'd out already). Why start them drinking wine so young when substance/alcohol abuse is so prevalent in "their society". I KNOW it affects everyone, I'm not saying that. I'm just over thinking it, I know, but I just don't understand it. Sure, maybe they are "mature" for their age, but let them do other things. I don't think allowing them to drink a glass of wine is doing them any sort of favors. As I said, I'm just not breezy about it and not seeing the point...

I'm pretty sure his comment about them being mature regarding wine drinking was TIC.

Some people have the philosophy that allowing their kid to have a glass of wine once in a while makes it less exciting for them and will keep them from going nuts with drinking when they are high schoolers and have access to it with friends. My parents let me have a small glass of wine at holiday dinners starting when I was 12 or 13, and I had wine a few times on a trip to Europe with my grandparents when I was 14. It may have worked for me, but I was also a goody-goody and didn't hang out with a lot of partiers, so who knows if it would have been different with more opportunity.

I definitely understand that, like I said, I know I'm overthinking it. I was around drinking a lot. Casual drinking, like my parents house was always the social house, with friends and family over on the weekends drinking beers/wine and having a good time. We were allowed to be around it, but weren't allowed to partake until out of high school. I was the opposite and was a heavy partier/drinker throughout high school. I don't think if they would have allowed me to drink a few would have changed my drinking ways. Maybe allowing us to be around it like that is just as bad or equivalent as allowing a glass of wine at 11. Again, I know I'm overthinking.

I drank in high school and my parents knew it. They didn't really encourage or offer it, but knew on the weekends that's usually what I was doing.. I definitely belive in the philosophy that the exposure made me less likely to overindulge than if it was forbidden. I remember freshmen year of college, being shocked by people that couldn't control themselves with regards to alcohol.
11 is pretty young though.

I am ok in my UO that an 11 year old shouldn't be drinking wine nor does it make them more mature. Lebron isn't in Europe he is in the United States so all the anecdotes really aren't making me change my mind I don't really want my 11-year-old to drink wine either. However, abiding by American norms is not the reason for my disapproval of the practice.

I wasn't allowed to drink in high school and didn't go wild in college. In fact, I didn't drink until I was 21. I think a lot of it is person-dependent. I know a lot of people who drank in high school and had no control and college, and people that didn't drink until college but were casual drinkers.

My extended family has a lot of ugly stories with alcoholism, so I'm not sure where I'm going to land on teenage drinking, but I think it'll be on the conservative side. H and I both never drank underage, although H did a lot of other substances.

My parents were VERY anti drinking, like to a crazy degree. I didn't drink at all in high school but also didn't go crazy in college once I had moved out. I don't think that the "let them have it occasionally so it's less exciting when they're older" plan has any actual impact.

Half the fun of drinking in my teens was procuring the alcohol itself. I did not want my parents to know I was drinking nor provide me with drinks. A glass of wine with a holiday meal doesn’t seem like a big deal to me.

We drink around dd. So has a beer or 2 daily. Our family holidays all have wine, beers, and on my mom's side mixed drinks. She knows what it is and that she has to be older to drink it. I don't see myself allowing my kid to drink until she is older. If i ruin her for life because of it I will deal with it then
