I’m sending all my easy labor vibes to you charlotte! I hope C gets to come home soon Dramaphile. Conflicting reports just make things worse and I’m sorry you have to deal with that.

Im at the 37 week mark! Yay full term! Yesterday at my appointment they checked me, and she is still high and my cervix is closed. My cervix is soft though so yay? Haha. I know it doesn't matter but I was a little disappointed. However after she checked me I had contractions on and off the rest of the day. They stopped after I went to bed and they have started again today. We joke that she will be a Halloween baby because we are naming her after my grandmother who was married on Halloween. 😂

Had my ultrasound today and baby has flipped back to head down. I swear it happened yesterday because I felt like my body was being torn apart my an alien. Anyway, no c-section and tech doesn’t think baby will flip again before delivery.

Caleb got off the CPAP this morning and has been tube-Free all day, which has been awesome! They have to monitor him for 24 hours, and so far he’s been perfect and is nursing like a champ, so we think they’ll discharge him tomorrow morning. It’s been so nice to have some normalcy and just spend the day nursing my baby and taking care of him, but I can’t wait to finally take him home and let DD meet him.

Can someone please tell me what the difference is between a contraction and pressure from a moving baby?
I feel so much pressure and my stomach gets hard but I don’t know if it’s the baby pushing and moving or a contraction.
Yes this is my second and I had no clue what it feels like because I only know what pitocin induced contractions feel like #newb

When you say your stomach gets hard, do you have your hands on your belly and you can actually feel it tightening and loosening? If so, that's a BH contraction.

meggos Sounds like BH contractions. I can feel the slow creep as it happens and, of course, the hardness. And then it loosens and we move on. Uncomfortable but not the real deal. If you’re getting multiple, chug some water and lay on your left side for a bit. For me, that always gets them to calm down.

I spent hours last night wondering if I was having real or fake contractions. I was in straight up pain (not just discomfort) but they weren’t necessarily timeable. Also, it wasn’t fading in and out, at least not super noticeably.
Obviously I did not have a baby last night, but is this what the next 3 weeks is going to be like? Everyone says “when you know, you know” but idk.
Last time, my doctor said “you’re going to have a baby today” and that was that. I have no idea what I’m doing here.

codypup I remember having pretty painful contractions with N about 2-3 weeks before I had him. But yeah they were all over the place with timing. Nothing consistent. The end sucks.

Add me to the “I have no idea if this is labor” list. I was induced last time, and I know I took classes this time around... but I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing or what to expect.

For me, I had sporadic painful contractions for 24 hours. Woke me up at night and then went away. Had one at the grocery store, and then that was that. I didn’t realize what I was experiencing while staring longingly at the chip aisle. I had lunch and took a nap, at which time they became time-able and hurt like a mother. Off to L&D we went. Every time H hit a bump, I wanted to kill him. Baby arrived 12 hours later.
I definitely knew that it was time. That’s how I know when it’s just BH this time around. You ain’t the real deal, that is foooor sure.

My water broke hours before contractions. But once they came, they were so much more painful than BH. Then they started me on pitocin and OH MY GOD. I was never so happy to have a giant needle full of drugs headed my way.

I've been having what I think I remember as contractions. Feels like period cramps that radiate down into my legs. Nothing consistent, maybe a few times a day so meh.

I refused pitocin. Full on sobbed and begged and refused. Thankfully the second (yes, second 🙄) epidural worked and allowed me to relax and continue progressing, so it wasn’t needed. I read so many horror stories about pitocin that I wigged the eff out. They had it on the pole and everything. I about ran from the room 😂

Pitocin sucks... I hated being induced with it because there was no break in contractions. I really don’t want to be induced this time but if I make it to 39 weeks I will be.
I am struggling today. This LO is moving like crazy and causing me so much pain. He is sitting on a nerve in my hip and I can barely move. Doesn’t he know that his mom is a procrastinator and has a ton of stuff to do?!

Everyone’s experience seems so different, it’s so hard to tell what to do! A friend today reminded me that my back hurting could actually be contractions, and I read somewhere else that people’s pain tolerances make it so hard to distinguish real from BH.
Another friend told me not to have a bathtub baby because “the smell doesn’t leave for years.” 😂 Thanks?
I don’t freaking know. I’m just putting one foot in front of the other and assuming that somehow, I’ll just know when it’s time to go in.

Add me to the 'is this labor?' group. I was induced last time, and when I went in I was having timetable contractions but didn't know it.
I've been having painless but uncomfortable contractions for a week, usually 15 minutes apart. Today they've been hurting sometimes, but I think she's just pushing down on my cervix during them?

Little dude got released from the NICU this morning and I am soaking in allll the baby snuggles today and trying to remember what’s normal for a newborn. It’s so weird to rely on monitors to tell you your baby is ok for days and then they’re suddenly gone and you’re on your own.

I was induced last time around and now I feel like I'm terrified to actually go into labor on my own - I second guess all the aches and pains for sure. My contractions were all completely in my back and on top of each other pretty much throughout labor. I'm really hoping for a different experience this time around to be honest.

Thanks for all the input. I am happy to hear I am not the only one that doesn’t know what’s going on.
