I don't mind them ToT because I love to see the cuteness, but don't hold out a bag for candy. Although I guess they have to in order to ToT because otherwise they are just creepy What are acceptable ages? I assume teenagers are the worst as well. I actually don't care which is why I said I guess they have to. My sister is taking out the baby and last year we went with cousins who are teenagers. I don't really care who ToT

I think it’s stupid when adults dress up for Halloween at work. I'm also not a huge fan of family themed costumes that include the adults, but I have a frozen heart. DONT THINK I WONT POST A MONTAGE OF OUR ADORABLE FAMILY COSTUMES THROUGH THE YEARS BECAUSE I WILL

In this crazy, me me me, over the top weddings that are happening now, I’m glad to have some standard etiquette in which you can turn to. It can help keep some serious selfish tendencies in check for those who would listen. Because most times, people are just being downright rude to thier guests for the sake of trends.

I see a lot of posts about who still does a checkbook ledger and it irritates me. If you live paycheck to paycheck I think a ledger is almost essential. And no I don’t think online banking is a good substitute. Pending charges aren’t always showing and if a check isn’t cashed right away you have to mentally remember that when you are looking at your available balance. My online banking works for me. Especially since I don't even have a checkbook

I enjoy going to the grocery store. 🤷♀️ I do too. H says I should be a shopper for the grocery stores.

What's the temperature on trunk or treat? BECAUSE IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A ONE DAY CANDY GETTING EVENT. Trunk or treat at school, trunk or treat at daycare, actual fucking Halloween. TOO MANY THINGS. And before anyone is up my ass we don't go and I'm comfortable breaking my children's spirts in the process.

When in the world of weddings - I think etiquette actually ends up causing the wedding to be much larger and over the top. I think etiquette is often conflated with tradition. People get stuck in doing things a certain way because they believe etiquette/tradition implies they must do it that way.

I cannot find enough fucks to care about who is TOTing. Toss the bowl on the porch and have at it. I don't give a crap if the first person dumps the whole bowl in their bag. Yep.

I don't TOT alongside my kids cause ds3 has a peanut allergy so I end up taking 90% of his candy anyways. But I'd throw some candy in a bag if an adult showed up at my door

I don’t care if you use a checkbook ledger to keep your finances in order. But please don’t whip out your checkbook after all your groceries are bagged and wait for the total to even start writing out your check. Why is it so hard to have everything written beforehand so all you need is the total?! Saves time for everyone involved.

This is my pet peeve, people that ToT with just a baby and no older kid. 😒 I don't mind them ToT because I love to see the cuteness, but don't hold out a bag for candy. Although I guess they have to in order to ToT because otherwise they are just creepy I kind of want to do this now just to be creepy.

Etiquette is similar to table manners to me. There are some rules and if you flaunt them knowingly, that's your judgment call. If you flaunt them because you don't know better, I'm embarrassed for you and depending on what it is, being judgy. I'm not necessarily proud of that, I just can't let it go though. Obviously, flauting certain standards of table manners and other etiquette stuff sort of falls under the heading of “common courtesy and being polite” though, right? Unless you’re judging people who don’t return their knives to the proper resting position on the plate... Sure, agree with you. There is a range from common courtesy/polite to utter snobbery. I see them as different but it's perhaps a continuum for some. Caring about resting position on a plate is utter snobbery.

I think it is sweet if parents want to dress up with their kids. I don't think it is necessary, but I see nothing wrong with acting like a kid every once in a while.

It's ok. (But not really) It wouldn't be almost October if I didn't have to defend the sanctity of Halloween joy during every UO.

Most "etiquette" is very classist. It feels very much like pretention for the sake of it. Calm down, Eleanor and Gladys. Absolutely. No disagreement. Our views on what is tacky or not also come down to class and culture too. It's all related.
