Morning! Dh took B to school this morning, bless him. Looks like rain here today so C and I are going to go get fall cards for some relatives to send out school pics, and maybe hit the library. Hopefully we can get back home before the bottom falls out. It's in the 70s here today, so pot roast for dinner. I impulse-ordered a rug last night for our front hall; I've been casually looking but haven't seen anything I really liked, until this one. Ballard was doing a sale and I showed mH and he was like, 'Get it. Now." I think he is just tired of hearing about it, but I'll take it

MH has jury duty today so he took the kids to school. Once again, it's sooooooo nice to not have to deal with that in the morning.
I'm interested to see what M's hair looks like though.

Morning. I got a call at about 4pm yesterday to pick up M because he said his head hurt and didn’t feel good. He seemed fine but a little off when I got there. Came home, gave him some Motrin and he was fine the rest of the night. He came to our room at about 2am with a fever and said his head was hurting again. We gave him Tylenol and he slept ok. Not sure what’s up with him. I think the headache thing is weird. Any one else ever had a kid with a low grade fever and a headache? I’ll probably call the pedi to find out if they want to see him. C had a low fever and headache not long ago. I thought it was weather/sinus stuff at first and wasn't too worried, it turned into congestion and a cough after and he had a fever off and on for a few days. Nothing major though! Glad to hear it was nothing big for C. Hope it’s the same for M.

Guys, how do you explain the loss of a pet to a 4yr old? Evie was being a shit this morning and didnt say goodbye to Luna before she left. I know I'll breakdown telling her, but how do I do it that makes sense?

mwhip , I've always been honest with Cadence. They got sick and it was too sick for the doctor to be able to help. I also say they go to heaven, but that part is up to you. I have not explained to her the fancy little boxes of cat ashes on the bookshelf and surprisingly she's never asked about them.
I think the hardest one for her to understand was our cat, Tatum, and that's because I had no choice but to have her there with me when we put her down, so she witnessed it. Not my best parenting moment, but she was at least able to ask the vet any questions she had and the vet was very helpful.

This. Just be honest. LO still brings it up but it’s best to be honest.

We're at the beach. Had a tough start to our day with m pooping on his legs, shorts and shoes at breakfast. He didnt quite make it to the toilet.. and my nephew isn't the issue with m its nana. He cries every time we leave her. It's incredibly frustrating. We live with nana at home, we eat every meal with nana here, we meet at the pool after every meal with nana. The only thing he doesn't do is sleep with nana. Yet he cries everytime we have to go to our room to get changed..

Hi! 2 days left of the fiscal year and work has been nuts! Thursdays are my day off but I arranged daycare for the kids and am In the office. I was going to wfh but we have doors going up in the basement so I didn’t want to be there.
Got my hair done last night and am really happy with it... it’s much more “fall” than it was.
I am going to grab lunch with my sister tho. We haven’t really seen each other in weeks so that’ll be nice.
Back to work!

I know I'll breakdown telling her, but how do I do it that makes sense? This is what I did for M. Sidney had been sick and M knew that. I told her that we took her to the doctor and sometimes animals get so sick that the doctors can't help them. I explained that she died and was in heaven now. She asked me if she was with Jesus now in heaven and I said yes and she said that Jesus made her feel better so she wasn't sick anymore. She still periodically asks me if Sidney is coming back and I have to remind her that she's in heaven with Jesus. A couple of days ago she told me that she really missed Sidney. It breaks my heart but I just keep reminding her that she's not sick or in pain anymore since she's in heaven.

Y'all I fucked up today. I thought our client's board meeting was tomorrow but it's today. I already did the reports and everything but I did not dress appropriately since our office is casual. I told my boss I'd run home & change but he said it was fine. It's one of our smaller jurisdictions and not really necessary for me to be there but I've always gone to this meeting.
I feel awful. I do not make mistakes like this and my memory has always been iron clad. WTf.

Well... we will both have our 2 and 4 yos with us so we’ll see how much conversation actually happens. I have to get the kids from daycare before lunch and she’s a sahm. But at least we’re going my i attempt a sit down restaurant!

Anyone watching the hearing? I have a meeting until noon, but caught a bit. After watching the Anita hill movie a few years ago, it's like we are watching a replay of history. Hoping he doesn't make the court...high schoolers need to know what they do in high school does matter.

I don't think most of the R's care on way or another whether the accusations are true, their intent is to discredit Dr. Blasey Ford at any cost. This is a prime example of why most women don't bother reporting harassment and assault.

Our court had it playing in the jury assembly room all day for those that want to watch during work. I love that they are doing that and kind of wish I was there for it.

She had just showed up and I thought about the Anita Hill movie, too.

So I talked to the school nurse and she said they have had a lot of double illness, kids having flu and strep and the same time, goin around school. Ugh. I sent Mh to the pedi with him to get tested. I hope he doesn’t have any of it, but he keeps his fingers in his mouth so I wouldn’t be surprised. I wish they would let us know before we have a kid absent from school.
And when I took M2 to daycare this morning, there was no sign posted about HFM in his room after I told them. We didn’t take him to the doc to confirm, so I’m guessing they only post it if it is a confirmed case. Just one more reason I’m ok with looking around for another daycare for him.

Seems so early for all these kids to be getting sick already. A friend of mine just posted on FB that she has 'flu (are flu shots even available yet??) Re: a new DCP, never hurts to see what else is out there. There were some things that drove me batty about our school last year, but one thing I really appreciated was that they were super proactive about preventing the spread of illness, and alerting parents when something was making the rounds. I'll be interested to see how our new school stacks up.

Hello. I spent all day yesterday moving C into T’s room. I wasn’t sure how T would take it even though we have been talking about it for months. I had put C down to nap in the crib in my room and told T that I was going to shower then we would clean his room and make room for C’s crib. When I got out of the shower, T had moved all the toys into the hall and was packing a garbage bag full of toys to donate. He also told me that he never sleeps so if C cries he can take care of him so I can sleep. The night went surprisingly well. He now hopes we will get another baby girl and another baby boy so his older siblings can each get a crib in their room too.
