I have a head cold and I feel like I’ve been punched in the face.
R can now sign “sleep.” She did it last night and then she did it before her nap, so H gladly scooped her up and put her down for a nap.

E was up every 3 hours last night and would not go back to sleep unless I nursed her. She had finally been STTN for almost 3 weeks. So sad. So sleepy. Please let this be a short phase for all of us!

I’m sorry for the sleepless babies! I wish I could wave a magic wand to get them all to sttn already.
A has been going through leap #9 and has been wanting to nurse all day. I’ve been redirecting him constantly and giving in. lol but today, he went down for a nap in his crib with zero tears. That’s 3 days in a row. I’m beside myself that I’m officially out of nap jail. It took over 2 weeks of trying.

jt2378, I’m so lost at how to start weaning. I know he doesn’t have to nurse, since he went a full day and a half with no breast milk when I was away. But, if MH goes in to get him in the morning, he’s super cranky that it’s not me to nurse. So first thing in the morning will be hard, and he was super crabby on Sunday and wanted to nurse all day long. I’m giving it a few more months though. He’ll wean eventually. You don't háve to wean though right? One benefit of being a sahm imho.. just go with the flow and and see how things go naturally? He will self wean at some point... or at least that is how I think I will do it with D. Unless theres a moment where i am suddenly just done and fed up with bf and feel like I wasnt to stop..

It is a perk that I’m not in a rush, but I want to try out CBD oil for the anxiety issues I’ve heen having and there is no research on how it affects breast milk. So I need to wean before I can try it. I’m hoping he weans himself over the next couple months, because I won’t go passed 18.

You could perhaps gently guide him into weaning by offering less moments a day or shorter sessions and see how that goes? D. nurses after waking up, before naps and usually asks top nurse in the second half of the afternoon, then before bed and whenever she wakes up motn (though some times i can rock her back to sleep instead). I really hope to keep the morning and before bed sessions for a good while longer. The other day it seemed like she didn't want to nurse so much no more a couple days in a row and the thought of this being the start of the end made me so sad..

muscari, I already have begun the process of redirecting him if it’s not an important time to nurse. I’m not truly in a hurry, because it’s also more convenient than not at this point.

Totally hear ya. She is certainly nursing less and I have stopped offering at random times so it’s now only wakeup, bedtime, before 1 nap and MOTN which is 1-2 times. I’m still waffling on going on the Humira so that is why I haven’t pushed the weaning as much. My first self weaned at 18 months and I’m hoping for the same here.

It’s possible Humira could help things but like I said I’ve been waffling because the potential serious side effects are no joke and I’m just not sure I want to put it in my body but living with this issue really sucks too so ugh it’s a tough decision.

Dang jt2378. I’m sorry that’s definitely a tough decision. Have you thought about looking for a 2nd opinion?
