guster trust me it isn’t warm over here! I wear between 40-100 den. Thights around 8 months a year 😉. ETA and a wrap dress is sooo comfortable and stylish! I have a few work dresses, but really I feel comfortable in almost any dress .

@yikes, kim22. That’s awful. chrisy01, oh man! How are the kids feeling ? They have many sores? E has one spot on her elbow and 3 spots on one ankle and 2 on another. None in her mouth and no fever LO has 2 spots/sores in his mouth and a fever and that’s it. C has a ton of problems too many to list.

I am team skinny pants and leggings, although if I'm out and about I wear "nicer" leggings (like ponte ones) than what I'd pull on for around the house. I wear jeans a lot, too, but have switched to mostly skinny styles. As we all know, I do not own yoga or sweat pants, lol, or really any 'athleisure' wear in general. I think it looks cute on other people but it's NMS. I do get dressed to run the kids to school. I feel better when I'm dressed nicely and if I get ready before we leave the house in the morning, I'm set for the day and can head straight out on errands or appointments. I am very much Team Athleisure (Hello Joggers), but I agree with the sentiment about getting dressed for the day. Even if it's leggings and a slightly more stylish sweatshirt, I do my hair and put on make-up before I go anywhere. I am all about comfort, but I get a better start to the day if I don't look like I just rolled out of bed.

Oh man chrisy01 ! That stinks! I hope it's short lived for everyone, and you stay healthy! Also flamingo 's post reminded me - I wanted to thank vino , I think it was vino anyway, who was posting about chore/behavior charts? I busted out the one I had gotten a while ago but never really used. He gets a star for everything he does on it (things like cleaning up his toys, not whining, and being kind to others), and at the end of the week he gets a quarter for every star. Half goes in "savings" and the other half he can go to Target and buy something. We've been discussing saving up for big toys but so far he's blown his money each week on blind bags. But he's so excited for it and the threat of no star or promise of a star is really working for us. yay! I'm so happy it's working. We're still having success over here also!

Sorry about the sick household. chrisy01 Sucks so much. kim22 sorry about your son’s injury. That has to be scary for the both of you. I think sitting out for the week it best. I’ve been wanting to get a chore chart for a while and don’t know why I still haven’t. Maybe this week...

I also think for me and for weight loss is sake, it’s better if I am forced to put on pants with a button and zipper at least once a day.

Welp Layla's teacher called me today to ask me to come pick Layla up for the day. She apparently was hurting her friends and destroying the classroom.
I. Don't. Know. What. To. Do.
She goes weeks with relatively good behavior at school and then has a freak out day. It is beyond humiliating to be called to pick her up like this. I feel like a failure.
On top of this, this week is our audit at work. I'm already missing tomorrow for the funeral. Now I had to leave early for this. I was so frustrated I cried at work. I NEVER cry at work.
Wits end... I'm there.

I'll always warn him and give him a chance to straighten out, but if he doesn't he knows he doesn't get his stars. We are really using it more forbehaviors than chores, but I threw a few chores in there as well for easily earned stars.

guster I feel you on the work-to-SAH wardrobe. I was definitely a dresses and skirts person when I worked, and they are just not very practical anymore. In the last year or two I have purged so many work dresses and skirts that I haven't worn since before B was born. I die a little inside every time I take a batch to Goodwill. Sundresses are a bit easier for me, but this time of year it gets tricky. I actually bought a 'casual' dress at Loft last week and returned it today; I found myself doing mental acrobatics on when I was going to wear it, how I could accessorize/style it as it gets colder, etc. I also like more structure to my dresses, too, which makes them look dressier and thus inappropriate for chasing after kids all day. #FWP

Aww, I'm sorry mskatiep . You're not a failure; you won't be the first parent to have to pick a child up, and you won't be the last. Maybe having to be picked up will make an impression on her. If it were me, B would spend the rest of the day in his room. No hanging out with Mom or watching TV, etc. if you are in trouble at school. eta: my girlfriend just texted me that she got called by the teacher today b/c her daughter (who's 4-almost-5 and is normally a very nice kid) pinched one girl, and told another, "I don't like your mommy b/c she's not pretty". So see, it's not just you.

Agreed. I also think for me and for weight loss is sake, it’s better if I am forced to put on pants with a button and zipper at least once a day. That's a very good point. I also want to plug Nordstrom Rack as my fav place to flesh out my SAHM wardrobe. I was just there this weekend and picked up some cute Adidas and a 🔥 black leather jacket that make my sweatshirt and leggings game on point 😉

mskatiep, i’m so sorry. Is anything else going on that would make her act that way? Feeling sick or a bad night sleep, not eating enough that morning?

I pretty much exclusively wear skinny jeans and jeggings but I think they make my thighs look huge so I want to get some slim straight leg jeans.

Don’t own leggings (other than pantyhose style ones for under a dress in the summer). I own exactly one pair of jeans and not one pair of pants #dressesforlife. I could see myself being very comfortable in this kind of casual wardrobe if I lived in a warmer location. I much prefer dresses to shorts in the summer time. I always feel put together a dress. I think that’s why going from working to SAH was so difficult for me. I wore dresses and skirts 90% of the time, dress pants the other 10, so jeans were mainly left to going out on the weekends, and I struggled with finding a way to make my SAH wardrobe stylish but not over or under dressed. I also think it took me this long because until last March I was technically on maternity leave, and now they I’m officially resigned I feel like the next stage of my “fashion life” can start. Maybe dumb, but it kind of gave me the push I needed to change my wardrobe for the summer and now for this coming year. I would live in dresses in warmer climate! I'm not wearing one in 0° weather though.

I tried to spend money at Loft this weekend, but I walked out with nothing. This is a good thing in the long run, but I was itching to buy myself something. I’m sorry about L’s behavior. mskatiep Don’t blame yourself. Maybe a pretty big consequence to deter it from happening again?
