***possible TW - weight/diet/body image*****
So I'm really befuddled... I had lost all my pregnancy weight within weeks. Now, however, I seem to be gaining weight back and I'm really confused bc I'm more active (if anything) chasing them around. Does anyone know about postpartum changes, in other words, is this a common thing or am I just weird lol.

@wedding2012, when was the last time your thyroid was checked. Did you have any problems with it while you were pregnant?
Before I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism I was working out 2 hours a day 5 days a week and eating pretty healthy and I was still gaining weight at a consistent rate.
Other symptoms are fatigue (lol), constipation, always feeling cold, hair loss (again, lol) and dry skin. Obviously a couple of those are also PP things, but it might be worth getting checked out?

Wow I would've never even considered that. I didn't have any issues during pregnancy. Obv I'm ALWAYS tired lol, but I'm also always freezing even when the babies feel warm to me, major hair loss (again lol), and I do have very dry skin which could also be not drinking enough water. I've always had a superb metabolism, not bragging just stating, and could eat whatever I wanted and not gain a lb. I'm not necessarily eating anymore than I was PP but now it's just, well, I am gaining a lot of weight. I'm going to try to really watch what I'm eating for a week and see if I notice anything different. It's very weird. I'm sure metabolism changes after pregnancy but I thought it was weird that I lost 75 lbs in 3 weeks and am now just gaining and gaining for no obv reason.

This is making me think that I should have mine checked again. It was fine when I was tested at the first RE but went up slightly at the new RE. It was normal but not ideal for pregnancy. I stopped taking them after C was born because my prescription ended and I figured it would be fine. Probably should have kept going though.

@wedding2012, I also had a very fast metabolism prior to my thyroid acting a fool. It's been a very frustrating 5 years wrt to my weight. It's hard because the symptoms can be easily explained by other things, too, especially when you have a couple of 6 months old running your life. There are more symptoms, but those I think are the main ones. goldenlove, I haven't had blood work done since my 6 week appointment, but at that time my levels were still high enough to keep me on my higher dose that I take when I'm pregnant. I feel like it took several months after giving birth with DS1 before my levels went back down, but I also have hypothyroidism when not pregnant, so I'm sure that changes things.
