Morning. I’ve been up for a long time, ran some errands and got flowers and groceries for my parents. They’re coming home after being away on vacation for 4 weeks, and it nice to come home to flowers and a (lightly) stocked fridge. Ds has his first drop off birthday party this afternoon, but with the parents permission I’m sticking behind for a little to while to see how he’s doing. After the party we’re heading to my parents, the kids are going to be stoked!

Do any of your littles have nightmares? Dd keeps waking up while crying ‘no no no’ and slapping us/mid air. So weird.

I’m up. Did a double BBM since I can’t do it tomorrow. I think I’ll have to double up all next week to cover my Disney week. Not looking forward to that.
I am headed to work to tie up loose ends and then headed to Newport for our retreat. It starts tomorrow but since I’m organizing it I was given permission to go today to make sure things are all set. I’m excited to get away for a couple of nights.

You are so nice nam2013! I would never think to stock someone’s fridge by what a nice thing to come back to. Thanks, it’s a tradition in our family! Usually we make a simple meal too, soup, lasagne etc. But my parents called me yesterday that they were coming home today in stead of Friday, so I couldn’t swing that around this time. So I got nice sandwich stuff and otherwise we’ll order in. |

Morning!
Today is Josie’s first day of pre-k in her new school. I’m nervous. I think she’ll be okay but this transition is always toughest for me, and I’m secretly nervous charlie will throw a fit when it’s time to leave bc he is not going to be happy to walk away from a bunch of kids playing in a super fun looking classroom. I may bring a lollipop as a distraction (judge away!)

guster no judgment from me, but just so you know. Dd loves bringing ds to school, greets the teacher, plays while we sing the start of the day songs and then happily walks out with me! So Charlie might surprise you too  . ETA oh and good luck!

wedding I think if you miss bbm next week it should be fine. You will be walking 87,296 steps daily, from what I hear.

We made some progress this morning, still a few tears but none of the teachers had to hold him back and he wasn’t screaming for me. Baby steps, we will get through it.
He opened up to me yesterday and said he gets so nervous because all his friends want to play with him and he can’t play with everyone at once but doesn’t want to hurt someone’s feelings. His big heart is a downfall for him sometimes. But I’m glad to know it’s not that he’s being left out or bullied. This is something I can help him work through.

Smokey the Secretary is looking for a file. I have been telling her for months now that the file isn't in the box it is supposed to be in and that her boss must have it. Got to work this morning and she needs the whole file. Not sure what she thinks I can do, it's not in its box. So she asked if the runner could go through every single box. Are you effing kidding me psycho? No, he can not go through EVERY single box. I sent him offsite to look in its box, even though I know for a fact it isn't in there.
She is constantly losing files and then just writing new ones that say "duplicate" instead of finding the real one.
I can't with her today.

nam2013 No more DST? Lucky! We used to not have it in Indiana and for some reason they decided we needed it like 15-ish years ago. Dumb. I hope she has a great day guster!! cheeksmum For some hope for you: After a month of crying and being carried in by a teacher every day Gunner decided last Friday that he is good to go and hasn't cried or been carried since! Hopefully your guy will get there soon too! It's hard but just know that he is learning and having fun after the initial sad drop off.

Morning! I am in a mood today and I'm not sure why. It's going to be a long day if I don't snap out of it.
Colin seems to have adjusted just fine to the longer days and no naps, but Chase has been a bear in the mornings lately! We were all in his room this morning and he still wasn't waking up. Finally Colin started rubbing his back and talking to him, though he did try to roll back over and ignore it. LOL.
Tomorrow is meet the teacher night at school. It was rescheduled and it's going to be rushed, so hopefully I can schedule some time soon to meet one-on-one with Colin's teacher. He seems very happy and settled, but I want to make sure he's listening and sitting still(ish), and not being a total terror. I *think* he's doing just fine and I doubt they're judging too hard this year anyway, but I do want to be sure that his maturity level doesn't get interpreted as being a bad kid at some point down the road.

Morning! Welp, looks like all we will see from this hurricane is rain, probably not even til tomorrow night at the earliest. Glad school is cancelled ALL WEEK.  I get that the schools are having to make decisions days out, but darn. Can't win, I guess...People were complaining on Monday when they announced school would be open Tues, then others complained when they announced the closure. All this to say, the kids are already at an 11, and DH has been on a conference call all morning. As soon as he gets off the phone I'm going out to run some errands. Luckily with the nice weather we can put the kids in the pool, etc. |

I hope J has a great first day guster ! Hope C enjoys his lollipop, I am not above a bribe/distraction either! After how well she did Monday, I am also worried about C losing it when she realizes she does not get to go every day, lol. I'm hoping a spot will open up on another day that we could grab in addition to Monday. |
