I went to the dermatologist this morning to do an all over skin check. She had me strip down to just my underwear, no bra. No gown. And then she took photos of my body head to toe from all different positions. Then she went over everything on my body with a strong lens. I told her those had to be the most unflattering photos she has to look at, and she said no one looks good in those photos. I don't know if I would have been able to do that before I had kids, I'm pretty body self-conscious as it is. But I got the all clear so I'm relieved. I met up with a friend who I was in Rwanda with a few years back and we brought our girls to a bird park here. It was actually kind of cool, until I saw that they had 2 Canada Geese. I HATE those birds and thought I had gotten away from them moving to South Africa! rachydc congratulations! I know you said the market is insane where you are, I'm really glad this worked out. I've done those incredibly... invasive? Not the right word, but it feels like it... skin checks frequently. The photos are super uncomfortable, but could save your life! I know you know this, but for me that takes away the self-consciousness of the whole thing. Yeah in the end it could save my life so I got over it

I was thinking of this. I asked her yesterday if she needed anything and she said no. Gift giving is my love language so I feel like I need to do something even though she doesn't need me to What about sending a "thinking of you" card with cash in it? This is a great idea

oh i'm sorry... this would break my heart. have you talked to her teacher? does she calm down at all during the day? I don't know how old your daughter is, but would shows or books help her understand what school really is and that grownups come back? Yeah, it is to the point that I am going to have to make an appointment to talk to her teacher. They are too busy at the end of the day. She doesn't keep crying during the day but is unhappy. She is 4 and in Ontario they start school then so this is her first year. She knows we come back to get her but just doesn't get why she has to go every day all day long. It is a long day for little kids to sit and do school work with very little playing so that plays a part I believe. It's a play based curriculum so they really shouldn't be sitting and doing work, especially not in week one. I would ask the teacher what their schedule is and have them walk you through a day. The level of upset you're describing doesn't seem like an expected level of anxiety.

I did this with D2 last year for kindy, and every day I drew a heart on her hand and heart on my hand and told her we connected through our hearts, and that when she missed me she could kiss my heart.
I'm sorry your LO is struggling.

This day is going well all things considered... I did not hear my alarm this morning and I woke up 2 hours later, yikes! Did not get a chance to wash my hair, so dry shampoo it is. I look like a damn mess, but we made it to school/daycare/work on time so it's all's good. My daughter starts takewondo tonight, and she is super excited about going. I hope she likes it!

@darlene No, I haven't heard of that book but will look into getting it.
I hope that could help her as she is not like this normally. Never had a problem with daycare or babysitters and is not normally a crying type of kid.

Went to a doctor's appointment this morning, only to find out after getting there that they moved offices across town and they didn't tell me. Nice. Luckily they were still able to see me even though I showed up late once I got to the new location. Great communication. A+.

This is pretty impressive because if I didn't wake up until 2 hours after my alarm went off I would be 2 hours late for work

I am at work. This cold is still hanging on and I want it to go away. Plus it is still raining. But like, can’t you just call in sick and your kid’s at school so you’ll actually get to rest..... cuz like you get benefits and sahms don’t. ::troll:: I’m sorry you’re still sick. Lingering colds are the worst. My last one lasted three weeks. DS was over it in three days and I got to keep mine for far too long...

I have work that I should be doing but the other night we had odd dinner conversation and FIL brought up the story of how his great aunt was the victim of a horrible crime in the 1930s so now I've spiraled out on internet research. I mean, the guy that did it was convicted and I'm sure is dead so it's not like it's a cold case, but I still felt like it warranted some Google searching.

That’s similar to when a specialist just rescheduled my appointment without telling me and then day of my original appointment I was like wait what? And I call them and they’re like oh! Idk why no one told you.... 😒

Went to two classes and an open gym play with DS this morning. I’m working evening shift all week except Friday so I get to take him every day to these classes and it’s so fun and it makes me so happy to see him run around and interact with other kids. He didn’t make anyone cry by trying to hug them too aggressively today so that’s a plus!

I seem to be the only person in the free world who lost weight and their acid reflux got WORSE. Just saw the doc and I'll be having another UE in the next couple of weeks because I have tried every PPI ever made.

It's chilly and cloudy here. DD is on her 2nd long nap today. And I have been really unproductive today. Unless reading my book counts. Don't even have to make dinner since we need to have leftovers to clean out the fridge.

I put it up there w/ exercise in that regard.

I always use the Bragg's ACV and it helps me greatly with heartburn.

Waiting for carline to move so I can get R to the dermatologist. We’re cutting it close on time but it is what it is.

Thanks!

Whoops. I don’t check DS1’s day care bag daily as it really just houses his spare clothes, coat and lovey. Communication is done via an app mostly. This morning I checked it and found the room’s “treasure bag” for show and tell. Not sure how long it’s been there 😬 hopefully just since his last day there (Thursday last week).

Just saw the doc and I'll be having another UE in the next couple of weeks because I have tried every PPI ever made. I’m sorry, that stinks. My H has chronic reflux and he has found that a low acid diet is the best way he can prevent. The PPIs only work for him while he’s on a course of them then it comes back. He gets oesophageal spasms. Cutting out chilli, tomatoes, vinegars, lemon, peppers (capsicum, cayenne, black pepper) and mustard stop it for him. Liquors and carbonated drinks are huge triggers for him too, even more than the high acid foods.

So after I lost like 20 or so pounds back in the beginning of the year and then said to myself "I GOT DIS, I don't need you anymore WW app!", I gained like half the weight back SOOOOOOOOO
I have crawled back to WW again and am getting my ass back to the gym. Again.
T&Ps that I have enough motivation to change into my gym clothes when I get home tonight. Fucking Monday.
