Diordra, I'm considering it- I was on Prevacid my whole first pregnancy because I had years of acid reflux (including a bout of esophagitis), and then weaned myself off of it after DD was born and haven't taken it since. I don't really want to go on it again, but it might be needed if this keeps up. Going to pick up some Zantac to try and some more liquid antacid, I've been taking Pepcid and it's not doing anything.

I love Halloween so much! I hope to see some of these babies in cute costumes this year. My kids change their minds every other day so I’m not buying anything for a few more weeks. I hope you find some relief Dramaphile. Heartburn sucks.

I hope you find some relief Dramaphile . Heartburn sucks. DD's babysitter took her on an outing to the Halloween store last week and she came back saying she wanted to be a Kitty Cat and Skye from Paw Patrol and Wonder Woman and a Unicorn. So... I think we're probably going to do two costumes, one that's her choice for trick or treat (our neighbor volunteered to take her out) and a family costume for Boo at the Zoo (I want her to be Rey from Star Wars, who she loves).

I want to let DD pick her costume this year but I'm not sure she'll get it. She's not yet 2.5 soooo I may be picking. I'm hoping she wants to do something Toy Story though so I can make DH dress up with her.

My kid was the same way but only when asked what he wanted to be so we went last night to Target and first thing he picked we walked out with. Would have been $30 and we got it for $18 so it was win.

DD will be Ariel. We found a costume at Sam’s Club, of all places. She’s usually very indecisive, but she’s had her mind set on Ariel. Last year she was a butterfly. She was too young to care much. H tried to talk her into being a hot dog. I won that battle.
I’m officially in the 3rd trimester! What, what! Had an OB appointment this morning. Passed my glucose test and they said my blood work is fine. I was sure that I was anemic, but doc said nope. So, yay! I’m now onto appointments every two weeks. Woooooo. Tomorrow is the big placenta scan. FX so hard for good news.
ETA: Also got my TDAP shot. Didn’t hurt going in but, damn, my arm hurts now. Flu shot will be in two weeks. Wasn’t interested in two hurting arms.

Any recommendations for a PP bra/bralette? I don't want to buy a bunch of anything since I don't know if nursing is going to work or what my normalized size will be if it does, but with DD1 I never worried about this. Also any breastfeeding necessities?

Also any breastfeeding necessities? I liked the Motherhood Maternity seamless nursing bras, they're comfy, stretchy and soft but you can wear them out of the house and not feel indecent. If you find yourself with a really big cup size, Kindred Bravely makes a similar bra in "busty" sizes that have a smaller band and bigger cup. As far as breastfeeding necessities, i'd get a pack of breast pads for leakage, some lanolin or other nipple cream, and a nursing pillow of some kind (boppy, breast friend, etc). And a big water bottle.

Diordra, I agree with what Dramaphile posted re: necessities and also want to add that the reusable soft cotton breast pads worked soooo much better for me than the disposable ones. They seemed to lay better and were much more comfortable. The gel pads that you can throw in the fridge or freezer were a big help too, especially in the beginning.

Dramaphile, Dr. Cox, Thanks! I will pick up a couple bras from motherhood and get some breast pads including the cold ones. Is there a specific lanolin that works or feels better?

Diordra last time around I used the Motherlove nipple cream, which is lanolin-free, and it worked well for me. Lansinoh is the standard brand for lanolin nipple cream (it's a purple tube that says HPA Lanolin). There are other organic brands as well around if you prefer that, but Lansinoh is usually easiest to find in store. Side note: if you have a wool allergy, I would avoid lanolin since it comes from sheep's wool. If not, it works well for a lot of people.

Dr. Cox I bought some reusable cotton breast pads this time in addition to the disposables I had before; I’m excited to try the reusables! My only concern is that I imagine they won’t wick away the moisture as much. Diordra I used Lansinoh (purple tube) but I also liked having something different to alternate with— so I also used Earth Mama Angel Baby nipple butter and just alternated those.

Last year DD was Ariel and DS was a hotdog quijibo so that’s kinda funny. Both picked out their own costumes. Good luck at your scan tomorrow! I totally forgot to put breast pads and nipple cream on my registry, which we did so H can go buy all the necessities when we get the discount coupon. Thanks for the reminder!

I’ll be honest, they’re not as absorbent as the disposable ones, but my nipples were cracked and (TMI) I found I had to peel the disposable ones off because the material would stick and it hurt like a bitch. So it kind of boils down to preference and need, but I hope they work out for you!

DS1 decided he wanted to be a creeper from Minecraft. Luckily we found a costume that can also double as pajamas after Halloween. I am so over Minecraft though...
DS2 will be a chicken because we got the costume on sale.
I will be parked on the front porch handing out Air Heads until about 8:30 on then I am done. We should get around 120 kids.

Got to see the new man in my life today 🤗
He is measuring 2lbs. 11oz. He’s in the 52nd percentile. And we’ve been discharged from Maternal Fetal Medicine 🎉 My placenta behaved itself and moved on up.
All he has to do is flip his butt around at some point and we’re good to go.

I went a little nuts at OUAC today. And it’s not like this baby doesn’t have tubs and tubs of hand me downs from DS1. I blame the hormones.

Mother's love nipple cream. I swear by it. Edit: I see I am late to the party and should read the whole thread. And yay for moving placentas!

Ughhh middle of the night charlie horse leg cramps are THE WORST. Going to try an epsom salt bath tonight and see if it helps, I was awakened three damn times by cramps (once of course when DD came into my room MOTN and needed help getting up on the bed). I don't know how I can manage to drink any more water, I'm drinking a ton at work and peeing all the damn time.
