Morning. Slow day over here. Played around with the kids, rain is expected and we need groceries. So we need to while both kids on a bike and go get them. Any of you girls know good low carb/low fat recipes? I have no inspiration whatsoever.

Morning!
I need to drop off some paperwork to the kids' pediatrician, and we have preschool orientation this evening! I think (hope?) it's just a drop-in, since I'm solo with both kids, and we need to get to both classrooms.
There was a chance DH was going to fly off and get home late tonight, but he just emailed that it's not looking good. I didn't tell the kids b/c I didn't want to set them up for a big disappointment, so now I'm glad I kept my mouth shut. C was calling for 'dada' last night as she was lying in bed, broke my heart a bit.
And on that depressing note (sorry), I will go and call the pool company, lol.

Jack tossed and turned a lot last night so I didn't get a lot of sleep. DH also pissed me off so I went to the living room and watched TV and ate pop corn until I knew he was asleep..

Annnnd the pool co. doesn't open til 10. WTF? I did cancel the trash pick-up...y'all are right, city shouldn't be responsible for that. Pool co. can haul their own junk out of here.

nam2013 do you have Pinterest there? I get a lot of idea from there. Although I'm pretty boring because most recipes call for some kind of carb or butter. I grill a lot, or cook in a skillet with garlic grapeseed oil. That's usually my protein, then I just add a salad and another veggie (last night was roasted broccoli that no one else ate, but I loved). I also like to make chicken fajitas, but I don't eat the tortilla. I'm trying to switch up protein options, I've started buying lots of turkey breast and turkey breast cutlets for something a little different. The breast is great in the instant pot, if you have one. Good luck with the pool guys flamingo. Let me know if you want me to be a bitch for you, although I bet you can hold your own pretty well! I did call when trash was left in our basement, and the manager of the local Home Depot was going to come pick it up...so, just let me know! Tonight is open house for Evie's preschool. I'm hoping this helps ease her concerns since she will get to meet the kids she will go to school with.

Morning. None of us wanted to wake up this morning when my alarm went off. Nothing planned today except preschool. I may take S to the zoo as something fun for just her and I but I haven’t decided yet.

Morning.
More of the same today. If the weather cooperates, I’ll be going with a few girls from work to have Mexican tonight. If it rains during MH’s practice time and it gets pushed back, I’ll have to get the kids and won’t be able to make it. I really want queso and margaritas, so I hope it works out.

I once had a couple whose furniture was delayed call me, and both of them were on different extensions and literally screaming and cursing at me simultaneously. They were insane. I'm not there...yet. I hope E is put at ease tonight at the open house

Morning. MW appointment late this afternoon other than that should be a quiet day at work.
Last night when Layla got home from school she was very upset. She said that she didn't know how to be good, all of the other kids know how to be good, and she's never going to be able to be good. YOWZA I know she is struggling a little bit to be calm during circle time and to lay quietly on her mat during nap, but I don't know where she's getting all of that. I spoke to her teacher this morning, and I certainly don't think that she is telling Layla she's not "good." She is honestly one of the sweetest and most patient women I've ever met, and I think she will eventually be able to help guide Layla into "compliance" without breaking her spirit. This morning, I told Layla to not really worry about being good today, and to try to focus on being kind. Be kind to your teacher by listening to her, be kind to your friends by letting them sleep during naptime. It just really broke my heart last night to hear her sounds so defeated.... at 4!

We have M's preschool orientation this morning. J was pissed that he didn't get to come. I'll be worried about him at the sitters all day. She wasn't worried though. I hope he has a good day.

A girl on N16 is having shoe issues with her LO. I seem to remember some of y'all having similar issues when are kiddos were younger. Can anyone give me some recs for her? See her post below. Speaking of size issues, I bought new Stride Rites for C for the fall and even ordered the wides like he currently wears, but I couldn't get them over his fat feet. His feet aren't necessarily wide but they're fat on top so no matter how much I pulled the tongue out, I couldn't get them on. I have no idea what kind of shoes to get him now or how he'll fit into winter boots.
This is what he's wearing now so they're easy to pull on: www.amazon.com/Stride-Rite-Motion-Antonio-Toddler/dp/B00L5C2GKE
These are the ones I bought and have to return: www.amazon.com/Stride-Rite-Taylor-Sneaker-Toddler/dp/B01NAGYGJX

Those look so good! I may have to make those and tell H he can use tortillas. I wonder how much sugar is in all the sauces though...

Good morning! Not much planned today except a few last minute school errands. Tonight I have my sitter watching all 4 plus puppy for the first time. I have a girl’s night and H has a work thing.
I’m looking forward to the girl’s night because one of my friends has quit her job and is moving to another state to live with a guy we graduated high school with. Until last week they hadn’t seen each other since we graduated (in 1999!). I’m very much looking forward to this story.

I just saw another recipe for these yesterday on a blog I follow--she used ground turkey but I'd probably do chicken. I love lettuce wraps so I will have to try making them myself.

I'm the worst, I haven't been on there in months. B also had chubby feet. Stride Rite worked OK for him typically, I also liked PediPeds. New Balance usually is a roomier shoe with a generous toebox. If it's any consolation, his feet did eventually slim down and are now pretty slender and no longer wide. eta: tgrimes I wonder if it's time to go up a size? I remember that was often my 'tell' with B, not being able to get them on. Amazing how fast their feet grow, C has gone from a 6 this spring to now a 9.

Velcro Vans have been a total lifesaver for us. Chase's feet are fat on top so the slip-on ones are still a bit too tight, but Colin's are just wide and he can do the slip-ons or velcro ones. Plus there are so many fun patterns. Also I just realized that Colin's feet aren't fat anymore and that mad me sad...? I'm hoping AF is coming, otherwise I may just be losing my mind.

They reconnected on Facebook in June then made plans for her to move before she even went and saw him in person. She has made some very interesting decisions with men in the past so while concerning, this is not really surprising.

mskatiep - I was just catching up with yesterday's thread. Hopefully a little extra TLC from her teacher and a few days for L to adjust, and you'll both be feeling better about things. tgrimes - I'm obviously late but the BMI stuff is insane. At Colin's current weight, a 1 inch growth spurt would move him from 93rd% to 83%, which is probably why his doctor has never made much of a fuss over his weight. I'm so annoyed at that boneheaded doctor.

{Spoiler} It didn't last long and resulted in yet another divorce.
