Food has mostly been hit or miss with DS. He ate everything in sight and then some until around 18 months or so, then got fairly picky after that. He went through another brief period of eating all the food when he went gluten-free after his celiac diagnosis last year, but I'm assuming that's just because eating didn't hurt anymore. Now he'll occasionally try to tell me I gave him gluten when he just doesn't want to eat something.

I am trying to offer healthy snacks and not resort to giving him what he wants. I made these baked peanut butter oat bars, which he liked the first time, and gave it to him with milk for a snack yesterday and there was much whining and crying. I knew he was hungry and after a little while he took a bite and a sip while still crying. and then went on to eat happily. One win for me.

Trying to meal plan for me and kiddo for the next two weeks while DH is gone. I'm thinking a lot of pasta and rice with accompaniments. Like, rice and taco meat and some veggies tonight. I'm praying he'll eat at least the rice and taco meat. I wish I could sneak cauliflower into the rice, but we tried risotto last week and that earned us a "No, mom. I cannot eat. I cannot. No."
