mwhip, Hot mama! You look amazing! TP to that mom xolastunicornxo. I hope the fever come's down more and he is feeling well soon. I agree about not canceling the first practice and since you found someone to stay with him, why not. Maybe you can shorten practice by a 15 min or so. Sorry about the seizures lfig. Poor girl.

guster and any other moms looking for 'princess' dresses, I found a site called Trish Scully that has some pretty things, and they are fairly reasonable.

Man I have no motivation at work lately. My boss just okayed taking off in a few weeks, so I think we may book a house on Cape Cod since we will be in CT in a few weekends.
We saw 3 houses yesterday (and both liked them all!) And now seeing one more tonight. Total first world decisions...do we go for "best" schools, best location, or biggest/nicest looking. Maybe this nightmare will end someday soon! 🤞

If any match reasons you are moving don't pick those (ie no guest room, too far from transportation, too small). Glad you found some you both like!

Our demographic scores the same across all though. The school one is super small but would be the easy choice, tons of kids, walkable to some things, etc. I kind of feel like a predictable yuppy though, when the more down to earth Subaru/Honda drivers are with the more diverse schools. I'll see how the commute goes to the one tonight, that could make the decision regardless of house.

kim22 $10 seem way to expensive for a simple splash pad. You look so great mwhip!!! Oh no lfig! Just curious, is there a nurse at the school to give the medication? Or is it the teaching staff? I hope everything looks good on the EKG! Yay for a good drop off trtlcrzy!

It's so blazing hot today. 95 with ZERO wind or breeze or anything. Just sticky and stagnant. I only plan to leave the house to get peach and then no more lol.

tallb glad you're finding houses that your H likes! That's a sign in the right direction! Sounds like you'll have a tough decision to make, although I feel like schools always help re-sell value. What you consider best location or best looking, may not be what someone else considers the same, but schools always help.

Mh came and got the battery. I went with him for the exchange and then we went to lunch. I tried to talk to him about possibly doing more with Cadence so then maybe they won't have such a strained relationship. The conversation didn't go anywhere. He said Cadence sees me as the boss and him as nothing.....well, right, BUT maybe if you did more with her that would change!

I think I'm going to take the kids to a bayfront park when C wakes up and pray for a seabreeze. B, in particular, needs to blow off some steam, or we might come to blows. 7 days til school starts...I can do this...

I don't want to overstep or come charging in like an elephant, but have y'all ever considered talking to a neutral third party about some of this stuff? Therapist, counselor, minister, what have you? I do think that dynamic can be very tricky...a child essentially ignoring/not respecting one parent b/c they're not 'the boss'. I've seen it several times, and honestly, it has been really bad as teenagers in the families I'm thinking of when M&D are not a united front. I guess I would just hate to see anyone go down that road, and I was just thinking maybe getting an outsider's perspective would help your H see that, and help y'all get on the same page in terms of what changes he (and you, if necessary) can make for the better. Feel free to tell me to butt out.

joelies , does C start kindergarten this morning? And what about O, @snoop? Thursday! We did the playground, Stepping Stones, and lunch out today since daycare is closed today. Chase starts his new class tomorrow and Colin will spend the next couple days in the catch-all "school age" group he'll be in over school vacations. He seems really excited but he's also been complaining about his stomach, which of course makes his paranoid Mom think he's dealing with anxiety. Maybe he's just had too much junk food lately!

flamingo, I have, he isn't interested. Part of the problem is that he says things are fine. I feel like she thinks I'm "the boss" because he comes running to me with their issues as well. She will undermine him in a way she never does to me because she knows what I will and won't tolerate. He's never shown her that. I've had her change coaches in various activities because some people just let her walk all over them and then they accomplish nothing. She has this uncanny way of knowing who will and won't be that way and she goes for them. That's how she views him, I feel, as someone who isn't going to tell her what to do and if he tries to there will be no follow through, so she doesn't need to worry.

Hiii! We did the playground and the museum this morning and then stopped for lunch at a burger place we haven't been to in ages. I forgot how much I loved their veggie patty, mmmmmm! Colin didn't finish his lunch, not even close. Like I mentioned a few posts up, he's been making vague complaints of his belly aching lately but I'm not sure if it actually is hurting or if he's just realized that can be a thing and is sort of playing with the idea? Or if he's anxious about school and feeling the physical effects, except let's be honest: I'm the only one who seems nervous! The kid is cool as a cucumber. He just referred to something as funky, he's been cracking me up all day.
Chase has lost all interest in potty training. I was hoping he'd train himself but it's looking like we're going to have to actually do a pants-free weekend with him. Only I don't think he's mentally ready yet?? He's talking non-stop and showing lots of signs of intelligence lately, but he still seems like a baby to me in ways that Colin didn't at the same age.
Also this weekend DH promised to anchor Chase's dresser and to convert the crib to a toddler bed. Guess how much progress he's made?
Hint: Zero. He's made zero progress

Benjamin would not pose for anything in the world, so here's the best I could do! You guys, Baby A is a chunky, drooly delight. C asked wine if they could have another baby. She said, "I don't think . . . I mean, no." LOL

So cute @wine and @sing joelies thanks for asking! It gone down, but it’s still there, but much lower than before. I also haven’t given him Tylenol since this morning so I hope that means it’s on it’s way out.

joelies, does C start kindergarten this morning? And what about O, @snoop? He starts Sept 5th! And the boy who’s house O went to all summer (his mom babysat for me) is in his class. And so are 2 out of 3 of my friend’s kids who he also knows pretty well. Only downside is one other boy from pre-k who i think is a bad influence is in his class as well. Can’t win them all i guess.

Update: I reminded DH about anchoring the dresser so he starts by getting the bed rails from the basement. Both the toddler and full size rails. He got all huffy when I was surprised that he was bringing them up, then argued with me about needing both boxes.
Fast forward and he can't do the dresser because he doesn't have the right hardware and he can't get the drawers out, but he'll do it tomorrow. Right.
At least he conceded that we only needed the one box.
