My oven needed to be cleaned desperately. I put a baking soda paste all of it before we left yesterday for our friends and now I need to do the next step in the cleaning. Do not want. I had too much faith in myself yesterday morning. This is also the first time I’ve cleaned the oven in the 2 years we’be lived here. So gross. Does the paste work well? And how long do you have to leave it on? I need to clean mine also but my MIL has always told me to use ammonia and I really do not want. Do you guys not have a self-clean function? Mine can self clean and it says explicitly to not use any cleaners or chemicals or whatever. Like, it just gets really really hot and....magic happens. Or something.

Oh FFS. H just brought home a kitten. Him and DS1 were at a friends house and apparently this was H's friend's dad's ex-gf's cats that had kittens? Like they walked in the door with a kitten. No notice. I'm 😡😡😡 Hold up. Like...to keep? I mean I don’t like cats so that’s obviously a hard no for me, but even if I did you don’t just bring home a new pet all willy nilly without all adults being on board! What was your H thinking?! I support all the rage in this situation

Not cool Mr Chicken! All the rage thechickencoop. LO pooped in the tub tonight. DS1 was in there too. 😐😮😭 We made it until now with no bathtub poops. It was a good run! DS1 also never had a blow out in the car seat but LO was glad to break that record too.

Like, yes, big deal, but he knows that it would be fine. And him and DS1 are taking care of it, so they say, so....yea.

I can’t believe I let it get as bad as it was. Looks like a new oven! It says to leave it on 10 hours - 24 hours. I did 24. thechickencoop our oven has self cleaning but that should only be used on a semi dirty oven, not like what I let ours get too. Now that I did the deep clean I should be good doing the self clean or even the lemon method for a while.

Also after a nice clear day yesterday our AQI is back up to 146 and supposed to stay bad. We have an outdoor church service this morning and i am supposed to go to the botanical gardens with my ILs this afternoon 😬 Pick up some N95 masks! They’re not expensive and it’s not good for anyone to have extended exposure to high AQIs like that. The 3M ones are 👍

<snip> And him and DS1 are taking care of it, so they say, so....yea. This is me. I’d be so skeptical about my H and DS1 taking care of plants on their own...let alone a cat. Good luck.

I totally feel you on this. Being cooped up inside from AQI is the worst and it’s so detrimental to the quality of your life. That’s why we’re all about the masks, so we can be outside and not worry about the health implications. Mask use is hit or miss here, with many locals not using them (even though they should), so we do get odd looks every now and then, but I don’t care. I’m not going to deprive my kids of being outside, but I also have to look out for their health. Result = mask use. We’ve gotten used to it, and in Canada with all of the PSAs about AQI (at least I hope there are some), I’m sure people will understand why you have a mask on. Hope the air improves soon!

Fingers crossed that trend continues
