How was S’s preschool lfig!? First week seems to have went well! I took off early each day to pick her up this week and was able to talk to the teacher and her aide. But next week I have a friend that will be picking her up on the days we work. But she seems happy at pick up and they said there are already several “friends“ that are looking out for her and helping her with things. So that makes my heart happy! Just because I know how hard it is sometimes for some kids to be accepting of someone that is different and doesn’t operate on the same level as them.

I took a few online courses today to certify me for the possibility of going on a fire detail out west. I would go in an administrative role, like timekeeping or supply tech or something like that. It’s super good money so I am hopeful to get the chance to go. MH is way down on the list to go because he wants to give the guys who work for him the chance first. So I decided to see if I can go out. It would be a few weeks before I could go, but I wanted to get the ball going so if the opportunity was there I could jump on it.

@lfige I'm glad S had a good first week!
If you go to Southern California let me know for the fire detail.

flamingo I'll have to check them out! I did order an over priced pair at HA to test out in my effort to get free shipping.. I saw Old Navy had some pull on too but only slim fit available, which seemed aggressive for j even though he's stretching out a bit 😂.

I'm not looking forward to winter clothes. E is finally a 4 waste but those were short on him last year. If only sweat pants came in skinny. jewels that stinks about your flight, really messes with the vacation vibe

Hi, from the road. We have another hour until we get to the hotel. Our flight was delayed. The kids were horrible. Horrible. I got real close to lashing out at the flight attendant. It was literally my worst nightmare.
Then we got in the car and H screamed for the first 2 hours. Both kids are asleep now.
What are my chances that we can get them into the hotel room seamlessly?

MH returns on Sunday evening! Shoot! He was given an achievement medal today for his work (and work attitude). I can't wait to take a day off with him next week.
Meanwhile I have no plans for the weekend

I told E today he couldn't go with the other neighbor kids to a neighbor pool because it was "only for the big kids". Well the little girl he was playing with left to go and he said "but C is going and she's not a big kid". Sorry buddy she is 6 and an older kid but you are the bigger kid. I meant older kids. Lesson learned all around.

Also, I bought my first Christmas present tonight...PBK has tons of stuff on special, and something I'd looked at popped up on FB. This might be a new record for me, I think previously the earliest I've ever shopped was in late November So funny! I had to run to the bookstore tonight for ‘Teeth are not for Biting’ because a certain little 30 pounder at my house apparently is a biter. Anyway, they have an awesome kids section with toys and had the cash register I’d been eyeing for 50% off for B. Feels good to get started.

Yikes cagoldi! Is that out of pocket dollars? Yes. Gotta love our amazing healthcare system, right? Over the last five years we've had over $60,000 medical expenses (our share to pay, not total bills). And you know that's not counting the $15,000/month they still want to charge me for my infusion drugs. Somehow I missed this reply this afternoon, excuse me while my mind blows up and I pick my jaw up off the floor. I dont know how you guys do it 😬

Don't judge me but I got LO toys for Christmas back in march I think. It's when TRU started going out of business clearances. I got some stocking stuffers. I normally start actively Christmas shop in July. I'm horrible.

Last year was the first year that I started early, Aug-Sept, and there was a noticeable difference in the enjoyment I had during the Christmas season, I want that again.

We’re having a thunderstorm and it’s making me anxious, so I’m awake. I’m alternating between Halloween costumes and Christmas presents thanks to the last few threads. Fffc: the kids didn’t finish opening their presents on Christmas Day so we stored them in the basement and doled them out throughout the year. We still have a few things left. This is the second year in a row this has happened.

I normally start in July because that's when Hallmark does the first release of ornaments. I usually give an ornament to each of my nephews and niece for Christmas. I also have time to wait for prices to drop or think gift ideas over so I don't just buy something. I also can select the take your time shipping on Amazon and get a dollar towards digital videos. I just got C's nephew's Christmas and Birthday (late November) in today using that method.

For some reason they don’t notice the winter/ holiday paper, so I’ve presented them wrapped. It could be anything from bad weather preventing us from going out for a few days (snow, ice, lots of heavy rain) so here’s a treat to help pass the time . Or just noticing they’re playing intently with something (legos, puzzles, board games), so here’s a new one to keep the interest up.
