Purging more baby stuff, cleaning, and laundry. I worked for a couple hours yesterday so I didn't get a chance to do my "chores" ... My mom came over for an hour or two to watch ds2 so I could work yesterday. I need to clean my fridge. Anyone have any tips or tricks? It's so gross.
Ds2 has been sitting up and shrieking when he wants to get up from his nap lately. It's a real treat. He smiles really big when I go in so it's almost worth it. Poor kid didn't poop yesterday so I expect a massive poop when he gets up. Blaaaah.
Dh and I talked and he still wants to pursue the vasectomy (thank God). He's going to speak with the billing person to see if there's a way to reduce the cost. They apparently do an extra anesthesia or something that isn't necessary. So we shall see.
I spoke to my best friend and started making plans to go visit him in the early spring. He lives out in northern CA and it's been almost 3 years since I've seen him.

We took a ride down to CT this morning to go to the aquarium and then hen stopped at one of our favorite wineries on the way home. E slept in the car both ways, and really loved a lot of the things we saw at the aquarium, so it’s been a really nice day.
Now I’m trying to get some cleaning done because my MIL flies in Thursday and E’s baptism is Sunday.

3 was.......not good.... 😳. Not to scare some of you. ditto. I've heard 4 is not much better for some. H jokingly said "I just need for them to skip to being 7 and 10." I'm sure those ages will come with different types of problems though.

3 was.......not good.... 😳. Not to scare some of you. I’m sure I’ve said this here before. But three was the absolute embodiment of “oh my goodness, you are the smartest most amazing child ever.” (Two minutes pass) “I want to leave you at a fire station” There is so much development and progress, you really see their personality develop. But oh my lord the whining and the attitude.

Like, I cannot wait for the physical parts of parenting (ie, needing me to be around/help with everything) to subside a bit. I’m sure when they are older I will cry that I miss my little babies. But I am really counting down the days when I’m only responsible for wiping my own ass.

It’s hard being “on call” 24/7. And I will admit I am not a great “playing mother”. Now, feeding, injuries, organizing, bed time, bath etc I’m stellar at. Sitting down on the floor and playing...not so much.

And like the switch was instant when he turned 3. Like one day he was this little boy who listened and behaved. And then he turned 3 and I was like who the hell is this kid???
I will say at 4.5 I am seeing the sweet little boy again. He was just starting to grow out of the naughtiness and then we brought home a new baby. He definitely regressed.

Ds1 was honestly an angel (still is). No terrible 2s or 3s. I thought "I must be the perfect parent!" LOL for dayyyyyyyyys
Then I had ds2 and ds3. They are the exact opposite. Didn't even have to wait until 3yo. Little.fuckin.horrors. Ds2 started to be more manageable around 6 or 7 maybe?
I'm hoping ds4 follows down the same path as ds1 🤞 but the way he watches ds3 when he throws a tantrum... I don't see that happening

Hello everyone! C had his 9 month appt today. He is a tiny guy at 17lb even and 27 inches. Still following his curve though so the pedi is not concerned. And in even better news, the heart murmur she heard at 4 months has completely resolved- yay!

I think I'm going to go to Target for lunch today. My sister is a middle school teacher and goes back to work on Thursday so I want to put together a little back to school type gift bag. Any teachers in here have good ideas? Not a teacher and just saw this, but wanted to say this was a really sweet idea!

Ds1 has never had a particularly bad age that I can recall, but on a daily basis he can have 5 complete meltdown tantrums along with 5 super sweet moments.

Well then I’m screwed DD is sassy AF already and not even 3. Some days I’m like who is this Ahole?! She’s so defiant. I feel bad for thinking it and silently hug DS and pray he stays my sweet little baby forever!

My weird question of the day, do you let your kids chew on: books? Keys/metal things?

My weird question of the day, do you let your kids chew on: books? Keys/metal things? Like board books? Yes. I have metal straws she gnaws on. She also frequently gnaws on the dog kennel. Keys are dirty but otherwise I'd let her gnaw on those too.

Also the wedding dress thread has me going through my wedding album and awkwardly realizing how many ex-husbands/wives/gfs are in this album. DD was looking at it and asking everyone’s names and who they were... “well, honey, that’s a man you’ll never ever meet because Aunt Jane has terrible taste in men...”😬😬😬

My weird question of the day, do you let your kids chew on: books? Keys/metal things? Board books, yes. Plastic keys, yes. Basically as long as it's a kid toy. Megablocks, yes lol. We've moved most metal objects out of the kids' way (also because we don't want ds1 messing with our keys).

I feel bad for thinking it and silently hug DS and pray he stays my sweet little baby forever! When ds1 has a tantrum, ds2 just gives him a super judgey look and I whisper to him "you aren't going to do that to your mama, right?" Is that a confession? Ds1 is usually yelling so loud he wouldn't be able to hear it. 🤷
