Josie decided today she's afraid of the pool, so, of course, Charlie is now also afraid. When I asked her why, she said because she doesn't have friends to play with at our pool. Yes, true, but that's not fear. MH is entertaining it. I am not. This better be over quickly.

So the house is super cute and needs cosmetic updates but otherwise super liveable and we'd have room to grow. My agent is like I'm trying not to pressure you, but... We will see what MH thinks of the videos I took. Also googling house poor. The commute and schools would be ideal for me, since I'm the kid driver, not souch for MH though.
And the ped wants us to try gluten free for 2 weeks for N.. so this should be a fun challenge. All her tests have come back normal. Oh and mh apparently doesn't have Lyme's, a virus with musclr/joint pains is going around? Odd.
And my BIL is in town with the kids and is legit 10 min away at his parents, but didn't give us a heads up. So hopefully we can see them, he's trying to schedule with his friends first? A bit annoyed since we were debating going down to see them next week but cancelled since his parents are also going to be in town.

tallb, that's exciting. What are the pros and cons to the house? Pros - top schools, nice neighborhood, commute to my office is under 30 min in rush hour so I could fetch kids easily from after care. Rancher but finished rooms upstairs, finished basement with storage rooms too. Two friends from work live in neighborhood (one is J's friend from school) and both have been in the house and say it's a great house. Swingset in backyard. Cons - kitchen is dated, little cosmetic fixes required throughout - like kind of crappy fixes. Needs new carpet on basement/upstairs. MH doesn't like how it looks from the outside (little rancher with a porch out front, but it's painted nicely) Oh and upstairs has window units and was kind of hot. Also weird is that the owner grew up next door and her parents still live there, which seems like it could be awkward. It would almost double what we pay in rent, so I am really not sure we could actually afford it on a monthly basis.. or it will be super tight until j goes to k.

Hey. We ran a bunch of errands this morning, and then took a family nap time. S is still sleeping but when she gets up I plan to run to Starbucks for their happy hour deal. I was considering taking the girls to the pool but H was naughty so now that’s not happening. I am so ready for her to go to school. A friend and her kids are coming over this evening while our Hs are doing a fantasy football draft at her house.
Big negative to ever owning bunnies. I want to kill the ones in my yard because they eat my plants. I would be happy if they just stayed away, that would work too.

Will someone please come tell my six month old that naps are good? Oh, and bring wine with you too.

Yet another tale of a mis-sexed rabbit here, too. Tabitha --> Timothy. We did have her neutered because s/he started spraying urine, which was not delightful. Thankfully that was our only one so no problems with reproducing.

Apparently we will never be getting rabbits. Not that we had planned on it, but sheesh...

Rabbits can be sweet but very shy and timid. We never successfully litter box trained one and we heard they'd only go in one corner of their cage, but ours pooped everywhere. Cleaning the cage was definitely nasty. They were sweet little guys though.
If the girls want rats in middle school I'll let them get them and enjoy the little furry friends, but they need to be responsible for them.
I used to want a zoo when I was younger but now it seems like way too much work to have a bunch of different animals.

IDK if this dissuades anyone but I would never buy anything from YoungLiving, ever, because the quack owner killed his infant daughter. I did not know this. How awful. Scratch them off my list of brands never to buy. The maniac drowned her in a homebirth because he somehow thought she didn't need to come up for air.

Used to have a rabbit who was best friends with one of my cats. He liked to hump her and frankly, she seemed to like the attention. She would always climb into his cage to snuggle and play. inthekitty he was litterbox trained, but he trained us. Flipped his little house over and started peeing and pooping in it, so we turned it into a litter box for him.

peachsmama, rats make really great pets. They are the best of the rodents in my opinion. Hamsters are horrible pets. Rats are smart, know their names, can learn tricks, and none of mine ever tried to run away and came when called. I really adored them. But for older kids obviously so they don't hurt them and they can clean the cage.

I made a recommended products thread because I'm worried we don't shop enough around here. Find something you really love, share it there.

This is advanced artistry for a 4yo, right? C had been really good at coloring and cutting for a while but he found this book at my parents house that teaches you how to draw and I’ll go into his room in the morning and he’s drawn this race car or other thing and cut it out. And it’s pretty good.
