The baby is having an explosion of skills lately! He rolled once (I’m thinking on accident because he hasn’t done it since😂), has really started grabbing for toys, and now brings them to his mouth to chew on. I’ve been ordering clothes for fall in 9m size and I just want to know where my tiny baby went?!

L had a fever at daycare so he’s home with me now. Slept for a while, woke to eat, and back to sleep in my arms. So I’m just holding him and shoe shopping on my phone. It’s 85 here today, but my online shopping has now turned toward fall clothes. I’m staying home with him tomorrow, so I predict a high credit card bill this month.
He’s been fighting a cold/upper respiratory bug for a couple weeks now, so I’m not sure if that’s it... or maybe teething. He does have two little bumps on his bottom gums. Keeping my fingers crossed it’s not the start of HFM.

mrsmonogrammed YES. I am so tired of hair everywhere. So exciting about the new skills! I can’t believe so many of these babies are in 9 month clothes. L is just growing into 6 months. My little shrimpy babe. But then we saw a newborn at the pedi today and omg it’s hard to even remember when L was that small. Sorry about the crappy sleep for so many of you lately. L has been pretty inconsistent with sleep, but I suspect being sick has been affecting that. I think the night wakings are catching up with me. I used to be pretty coherent MOTN (after the first couple weeks), but now I’m in total zombie mode. alwayscheese yay for a new car! I’m jelly, I would love an SUV. Everything still ok with your H post accident?

alwayscheese so jealous. I'd die for an SUV right now. We're trying to make the sedan work until I'm off of mat leave but might not make it. SO's Subaru is on it's last leg.

So much car shopping happening! I’m on the hunt for a new car for me. I think I’m leaning towards a Ford Explorer, but not 100% sold until I can test drive one. H and I don’t have a day off together that isn’t a Sunday until Labor Day so we’ll go then. We bought our Traverse when DD was 6m and I’m not looking forward to car shopping with a tiny babe again🤦🏼♀️

Does anyone else have a dock a tot? The buckle at the bottom of ours keeps popping open and I’m wondering if it happens to others too?

My hairline is visibly receding. I need this pp hair loss to stop soon. Its driving me crazy. Omg can somebody PLEASE stop the hair loss?! I’m tired of finding hair everywhere. +1 my hair is still shedding like crazy. DH thought that me cutting 10 inches off my hair would help...that is a big nope.

DD has her first day of Kindergarten tomorrow. She decided to cut her hair. I caught her before she did too much damaged, but it is definitely shorter on one side. Of course she did it right before bed when I can’t take her somewhere to get it fixed. 🙄 I went out and got some hair clips and I’ll just hope that she’ll keep them in her hair tomorrow.

Hi all! I’m still catching up but wanted to check in.
Our trip to Hawaii was AMAZING!!!! We had such a nice time and it was so nice to disconnect and relax and enjoy a special trip as a family. I am really grateful that we decided to end my maternity leave with this trip.
We got back a few days ago but I haven’t checked in because I’ve been a bit mopey and disconnected. I go back to work tomorrow morning. I have so many mixed feelings. Mostly I am so devastated to leave the boys and I’m so scared I’m going to blink and miss their entire childhood (cue overreaction on my part - yes I’m being incredibly dramatic but I know my work and coworkers and it’s not unrealistic to expect me to go back to working 10-12+ hour days and weekends almost immediately). I know I’ll adjust to our new normal and I feel incredibly lucky to have gotten 5 months off with L, but it sucks right now. I’m not ready. DS1 asked me today why I was crying and when I said I had to go to work tomorrow he said don’t go back - and then looked at DH and said “hey why don’t you go to work?” It both warmed my heart and broke MH’s heart (who stays at home with the kids). It’s going to be an adjustment all around. I know everyone will be okay but I just never expected to feel like this.

We are on vacation this week. We flew out to California this morning to do Disney with Mh's family. The baby did amazing on the flight. But she has been super attached to me the past few days and it has not been fun. My FIL tried holding her and she just stared at me screaming her head off. It took a while for me to calm her down. She even does the same with Mh so this trip should be a ton of fun. 😕

The baby has spots on her feet, hands and chest. I'm hoping it's not hfm. We're leaving Friday for a 8 hour road trip to visit family.

Ugggghhhh
The toddler didn’t nap today at daycare (not unusual) but was extra tired and had the hugest tantrum when I said he couldn’t wear a particular set of pyjamas because they’re not dry yet. Woke the overtired baby who hadn’t napped. Toddler kept up the dickery and lost bedtime stories for his troubles. Got him to bed (with many more tears and defiance about stupid shit) and now trying to get the baby back down as he wouldn’t settle for H.
I’ll be pouring a vodka soda as soon as the baby passes out.

Sleep regression is in full effect here a couple weeks early. I might die if I don’t sleep soon. I’ve seen every hour on the clock since last Thursday.

It spread up her neck and behind her ears and back of her head and she developed a wheezy little cough overnight. I took her to the doctor's office this morning and they think it's a mild allergic reaction. To what I have no clue. So that's great.

I'm sorry snowmoon. Allergic reactions are scary. I haven't been around too much lately. Work has been busy. Home has been busy. I basically just constantly feel overwhelmed. Not bad overwhelmed really...just...intense. The stop swaddling effort has gone well, although I'm probably not teaching her the best sleep methods. I basically just shove the pacifier back in her mouth whenever she stirs so that'll be fun when I try to move her back to her room I'm sure. Oh well.

More rants. Postage to Canada is freaking expensive. They wanted $50 to send a box of baby clothes and gifts to my sister. I said no thanks. I think I can use a priority box and if I take one thing out it'll only be $35 or something. 😒

Sounds like it's been a rough week for a lot of our babies. I hope the allergic reaction cleared up snowmoon. That is scary. And I hope you have got decent sleep ArielMermaid. The sleep regression sucks.

Day 1 of Disney done. The baby has been a trooper but hates CA traffic. She already hated the car and this long traffic makes it so much worse. And I hate the feeling of not being able to help her while she cries and screams hysterically. I dread being in the car.

DD2 nursed at a weird time early this morning and it has screwed with my pumping schedule for the day 😡 luckily I’m the only one using the pump room - when this happened at my last job I was screwed since the room was reserved 90% of the day.
I need to get back on a schedule of making my breakfast and lunch to bring to work. I swear though, I never want to eat what I pack.

Anyone else in redirect hell??
2/3 of poop tests came back perfectly healthy. Waiting on the third but it looks like that one will be fine too. I guess it must have been something I ate? Weirdest thing ever. Thanks google for making be lose it over poop color.

cp3 If L isn’t sleeping in the car seat he screams. I definitely hate car rides. We are driving back to Michigan from Iowa this weekend and I am not looking forward to it. I am glad you are enjoying Disney. ArielMermaid Dr google has made me crazy several times. I am glad everything looks okay though. The boys and I are fighting colds. I think I have the worse of it. I am hoping we are all close to healthy Monday because I go back to work and L is back in daycare with older DS. I have started some sleep training with L this past week and he is now falling asleep within 20 minutes of being put down with 1 check. We have gotten a 7-9 hours stretch almost every night this week and the other night he put himself back to sleep within 5 minutes after his feeding. I am glad this seems to be working. We need to work on naps now.

cp3 woodenshoes DD2 is ok on the highway at higher speeds but you’d better hope you don’t hit a red light at any point in time bc if you do, it’s screams until she falls asleep or you save her from the seat. I hate it. Especially when DD1 joins her 🙄

L just projectile vomited all over both of us, his carpet, bedroom door, and my phone. And his fever spiked again after 2 fever free days. Whyyyyyy.
