J drinks water from a 360 cup and does fine with it. We've just started with a straw cup and when he is sitting hes fine but he gets pissed when he crawls and plays with it because it won't work.
I guess I'll try to put milk in them but I'm going to start with cups after naps and keep the bottles in morning and ar night for now

king26 That's great people at the restaurant were so nice. Sorry about the sleep @easilyunamused Glad all is well. Good to hear from you We waiting till his actual bday (next week) to start whole milk. I cannot for anything remember when we switched ds1 from bottle to sippy cup. Baby h already has a sippy cup for water, so maybe I'll put milk in a similar cup. Are the straw cups better? We never really used those with ds1.

thinkchocolate05 We don’t like the straw sippy cups, because if kids don’t clear all the liquid out of the straw (which they usually don’t) then you get liquid around the house when they don’t set it upright - and, you know sippy cups are never upwards.

Also, regarding sippy cups, we don’t put them in the dishwasher. We’ve never had a problem with leaking sippy cups, but I know a lot of people complain out it - all the people I know who complain run them through the dishwasher. Especially the sippy cups that have the plastic inserts.

I haven’t even thought about giving A whole milk yet. Whoops! He hasn’t had a bottle in months, so I guess I’d try a sippy cup like he uses for water. He’s a good water drinker!
A still wants to nurse 5x a day so maybe it’ll help him slow down with that. Though I’m not ready to quit completely, I’m getting there.

A only has his 2 bottom teeth still. I keep thinking more are on they way, but then nada. He still chews his food and eats well.

I would say M is still nursing or bottles when I’m working all of 5 x a day so that doesn’t sound excessive to me. She does eat a ton of food though too so I guess she is just a hungry gal 😂

J has 3 bottom teeth and one upper middle tooth and I keep thinking more are coming but they dont. He looks funny with the teeth he has. However he struggles to chew his food which stinks. I'm hoping when he gets another upper tooth that will help.

I guess I had it in my head that after he turned 1, there’d be some sort of shift? Idk why, but it’s obviously not the case. lol

Usually at this point though you definitely want to start shifting to offering food first and 3 meals a day. I think they say a couple snacks a day too but I never remember that right now lol.

I have been giving him 3 meals a day since around 7 months. Just to get him used to the idea of it. I do need to work on having him eat before nursing, but mornings are harder since I’m so full and ready for him to empty my breasts. And he’s a huge comfort nurser, if I ever have another kid I need to not become their pacifier again.

R gives hugs when you ask and signs “eat.” She won’t sign more since learning it a couple months ago.

Baby h gets about five bottles. He's increased his solids but hasn't reduced his bottles at all. He has three bottom teeth and three teeth on the top, with his top canines out the furthest. Makes me laugh.

Nothing wrong with it, enjoy the snuggles because it doesn’t last forever 😢. M is different and not as addicted to the boob as DD1 was lol.

I’m taking a quick moment while I drink coffee- we are loading up and taking an 8 hr road trip to my ILs new house today. This trip may test my sanity. Walking baby who does not enjoy the car and emotional 3.5 yr old... oh boy. But I am hopeful the ILs will watch the kids at least one night so DH and I can do a little date night or something.

J and I are going to my parents for the day so we have a 2 hour ride each way. He will sleep the whole way there but we will see about the ride home. Dh usually comes but isn't so it's just me and J. It's for birthday parties so I'm hoping it's a good time

Oh and j woke up at 5 which is going to screw up his sleep all day. I'm hoping it actually helps with sleeping in the car.

My plan is to take T out to buy R a birthday present during R’s first nap. Plus, all I have for her is sippy cups. I also need to buy her a birthday journal to write in every year instead of a card.
I think we are also going to grocery shop, since T and H are going to the fair tomorrow with MIL.
It’s hard to believe that a year ago I still had a baby in me. This year flew by.

A birthday journal sounds intriguing. What do you put in it? Things that happened over the year or just the birthday? Do you have guests sign it who came the the party?

I’m still laying in bed because MH got up with the baby. I’m going away overnight at the end of the month for a friends bachelorette party, so he’s been getting up with A and putting him to bed by himself to let A get used to it. It’s been nice to have the breaks, but I wish my body would get the memo so I could actually sleep in.

We just use it in place of a card. So for T, we each write a note in it. We’ve also listed some of her favorite things for the year (foods, movies, shows, songs, etc). My mom was always big on writing personal notes in cards and that’s how my brothers and I roll - and, H has picked it up. I figured this way instead of saving special cards, they’d have our notes all in one place. That’s why we also have journals for Mothers and Fathers Day.

What are y'all doing as far as offering WCM? Are you mixing with BM or Formula? I know king26 asked in the August questions but didn't know if anyone started yet or what your plans were. Will you start with 1/2 and 1/2? Go fully to WCM? Not offer it yet? Also will you move right to cups and ditch the bottle? We just did straight WCM, no mixing. Mostly because we ran out of formula and I didn't want to have to buy more. They did just fine. We are still giving it in bottles because we wanted to do one transition at a time.

We had to reschedule the twins' party today because of thunderstorms all day and a flood warning. The cakes won't keep so that money went basically to waste. I was also looking forward to getting the party over with but no such luck.

I know that sounds bad but I'm tired and I go back to work in a week.
