Just went to bring in the zantac prescription for F and brought my mirena prescription in at the same time to get a price. Our insurance still doesn't cover it so it's going to be $436. Uggggghhhhh That sucks, are there other options that are covered? That made me think of a funny story. DD was on zantac briefly, so I vaguely remember it being pretty cheap when we picked it up. When I went to pick it up for DS the pharmacist said "okay, that's 33..." And I thought, wow the price has gone up since before. And then she said "cents". It was 33 cents, haha.

Unfortunately any IUD is considered a device and is therefore not covered *sigh* I really shouldn't complain since we don't pay for our health insurance (it's taken out of Hs union dues) but seriously, they don't cover some things that basically every other insurance company covers. Like massages, even when prescribed... Oh wow, that is cheap! I have to go back to pick up the zantac, but the pharmacy tech said it probably won't be much.

Well, L has his first double ear infection. Luckily we’re old pros because we went down this road with V, tubes and adenoids included, so we at least know the drill. I do feel so bad though because I’ve been putting off bring him all week because he didn’t have a fever and was generally fine. Hopefully the anabiotic‘s kick in quickly, poor thing.

Anyone here have a baby carrier they like? DD hated it but DS likes the Moby. I’m looking at a Tula or Ergo but don’t know much about the pros/cons. Help! 😊

I have a Tula free to grow this time around and love it. I was looking at this- I like that you don’t need a newborn insert. Is it comfortable for your H to wear too?

In getting ready to pack the house, I donated most of my maternity clothes and pulled out my regular stuff. Then decided to try them on. Rookie move.

Does anyone else feel like a strange guilt when their baby is just hanging out happily on their own? Like you should be entertaining them. DD never was happy in her own this young, so it feels weird.

Sometimes. I feel a lot of guilt in general because L is so easygoing and I have to give V so much more of my energy. Usually I give L a few smiles and chat with him every so often when I have him sitting on his own. He just likes to observe and interact every so often.

I've managed to drop my phone onto Fs head 3 times since he was born. I'm a complete klutz and I feel terrible about it. Every time I check him over to make sure it didn't leave a mark (it hasn't).

So much guilt!! I just remember being able to give DS1 my full attention and of course that’s not an option with DS2.

budders hope the meds work quickly! gustierx if you want a buckle carrier (like Tula or ergo) ideally you’d want to try on a few because they’re like blue jeans- everyone has a preferred fit. Local babywearing groups may even let you borrow from a lending library. Depending on LO’s size you most likely want one that doesn’t require an infant insert. Most brands make one now Tula Free to Grow Tula Explore (I think) Ergo adapt Ergo Omni LennyUp Soul Slings Anoona Infantino Flip Kinderpack Lillebaby Fidella Fusion this is not an all inclusive list just what I could think of Other common features people look for that may or may not matter to you -can the shoulder straps cross in the back? -can baby face outward? -how breathable is it (mesh panel or made of something other than canvas) For DS1 I used an ergo360 once he was big enough he didn’t need the insert. Then moved to a Soul Slings linen toddler carrier. DS2 is still living in ring slings and woven wraps. If you’re interested in something between buckles and a wrap, watch some YouTube videos on how to use a meh dai. It has a body panel like a buckle carrier but the shoulder straps tie.

Ugh. I have a clogged duct. It hurts so bad (even when DD is nursing). I’m hoping that between her nursing and me pumping and massaging it that it’ll clear up before it turns into mastisis.

I don’t remember having a clogged duct before it though-it’s like it came up overnight. So far today the lump in my breast seems to be lessening so I’m hoping that’s a good sign. The redness is still there though.

I hope you're able to resolve it. I have a duct that must be running oddly because it keeps clogging. Luckily I've been able to clear it up rather easily by massaging it while running hot water over it in the shower.

Recurrent ones sometimes have an outside cause like where your bra hits or pressure from your usual sleeping position. kellymom.com/nutrition/vitamins/lecithin“The usual recommended dosage for recurrent plugged ducts is 3600-4800 mg lecithin per day, or 1 capsule (1200 milligram) 3-4 times per day. After a week or two with no blockage, mom can reduce the dosage by one capsule. If there is no blockage within another 2 weeks she can reduce it again by one. Mom may need to continue taking 1-2 capsules per day if stopping the lecithin leads to additional plugged ducts.”

The redness is still there though. After I had mastitis I had the exact same thing happen on the other side. I had DS nurse on that side first each time (even though it hurt), added an extra pump session, and massaged it at each feed and while in the shower. It did actually resolve 😊 It took an extra day or two for the redness to go away after the lump started to break up.

It seems dairy is actually an issue for us, so I will be dairy free for a while (occasionally seeing if small amounts are okay). I am bummed, but I could really tell a difference in his comfort level the day of and after I tried to reintroduce.
