So we're having a baby sitter watch the kids at our house on Saturday morning while we go to a funeral. Its 2 hours and the girl is 13. I baby sat her when she was the boys age lol.
My question is what do I pay her??? I know it's kind of regional but I'm clueless..

Since you have 2, I would say $15-20/hr

I would say for a 13 year old in your area, $10-15/hour. Did you ask her what her going rate is?

I took the boys to meet her today and for got to ask about pay. But the boys adored her so I'm fine paying more. Just dont want low ball her or over pay either.

I pay $20/hr for 2 kids, but they’re adults. Same, but three kids. Although we usually put the boys to bed then let the sitter just get Poppy to sleep and keep an eye on the monitors.

Interesting. I am in what I consider to be a pretty HCOL area and I pay $15 for both kids. She is rarely with them awake for more than 2 hours though. I only have the 1 babysitter, she's a college student who lives around the corner and used to work P/T at the day care in high school. I guess I should hold on to her!

I haven’t paid for a babysitter but 10 years ago when I was a nanny for 4 boys age 7-15 I made $10/ hour.

Going rate in our area is 10-15/hour, based on experience and # of kids. We pay our 18 y.o. sitter $15 and stock her favorite snacks. I am not above bribery for a good sitter I think at her age/experience level and knowing that you're in a lower COL area, 10-12 range is fine. No need to pay more than 15 at most, IMO.

For a 13 year old, I think $10 and hour is fine then you can raise it when you have more kids/she gets older. It’s not like she could be off doing some other job that pays her more. I paid mine $12 for 3 kids but I will raise to $15 now with the baby (she hasn’t watched him yet). I got $4 an hour to babysit and that was less than minimum wage at the time. Back then the thinking was, if you are not paying taxes on the money, you get less.

The boys didn't cry when we left, actually ran off to play and didn't even say bye. And were sad we had to take her home. I paid her $15 an hour. So 30 bucks. Totally worth it. We had a childless breakfast and I didn't have to chase them around a funeral home.
