So the other day when we got home from work/daycare, the day that I met him at lunch on his field trip, he told me that he wanted some alone time at daycare to be sad cause he missed me so much. So he's got three more field trips this summer and I guess I'll tag along for one, he'll love it. The remaining trips are; Nature walk including picnic outside along the river valley, indoor playground and spray park. I'll let him decide but hopefully it's soon so I can let work know, good thing my workplace is great. I just love his big sweet heart! |

The boys were back to being completely insane yesterday. That was... fun.
Anyhow thank goodness the salon calls to remind me about my hair appointments because I had completely forgotten that I'm scheduled to go in tomorrow. I guess the good news is that I can make it AND that for once, my hair doesn't look overdue for a cut. It's about damn time, considering how much I've cut off over the last 8 months or so!!

Happy birthday dapostrophe! We ended up going to a park this morning. It was 68 degrees out when we were there. I can’t believe we are already having cool mornings and it’s only 8/2. Today is miracle treat day at DQ, so I’ve been using ice cream as a bribe all day. |

Dd has put up a 1-3 hour fight every single night we’ve been on vacation, it is driving me nuts. As to that that she has waken up most nights and the ‘resting’ part of our vacation isn’t happening much. I mean we’re having a great time during the day, but it would be nice if I could read a chapter and drink a glass of wine without either me or Dh getting up for the bazillionth time. Rant over.

wineallthetime and dapostrophe party on ladies! May you have most excellent birthdays! cagoldi yay for AC at a decent cost. Boo to scabies! The girls have been having fun at VBS this week. I was super impressed with the decorations. The whole church is outfitted with a pirate theme and it looks great. Much more effort was put into that than the TKD camp they went to for a week last month and will go to again next week.  I feel bad sending them again when they didn't like it before but it will be better than them being home all week during move week. Next year I'm going to try the YMCA's summer camps because they had some cool themes.

cagoldi I tried the flax milk. It's okay. Odd after taste. Is it something I'll get use to? I'll admit that I'm not a huge risk taker when I eat food.

I somehow spent over an hour at Walmart. I guess I zoned out because it didn't feel that long. I can browse with the best of them when I don't have the girl with me. Today is basketball day at dc. I'm expecting the least since firefighter day was a bust as well. Dude called that morning and cancelled, which is what he did last year too. I think he is a retired fireman, not sure. The first place I went solo after B was born was Wal Mart. It was all we had in our small KS town, but you would have thought I was at Neiman Marcus or something. I went up and down every. single. aisle, and it was amazing. |

cagoldi Three cheers for the new AC! inthekitty Glad your girls are enjoying VBS. The church affiliated with our new preschool also did the pirate/shipwreck theme this year...it looked really cute, I think B would have loved it if we'd been in town. Also, FWIW, I'm sure they are all different, but my sister was YMCA camp counselor back in the day and they ran great programs. (Very reasonably priced, too). B is out in the boat with my dad and we are relaxing and about to have wine. I got C a Minnie toy at HomeGoods and she is in heaven. Best $3 I've spent in a while. We're going to my aunt's for dinner tonight and she has AC (a rarity up here), as well as a playroom she re-did literally just for my kids, so that should be a great evening

Hi! Went to target with E this morning since C is sick. He still went to work. E is 8 weeks old today. To celebrate I ordered her a Halloween treat bag from PBK. I had a coupon and some money on a gift card.

Girls, it's looking like the trip will be in Denver, April 25-28th. I can go ahead and try to reserve a house and I'm willing to use my card to do it, but I need a headcount.
Show of hands, who can go?
And who is a maybe?
I'm okay with putting it on my card and being reimbursed next month for the girls who are in 100%, and then for the maybes getting reimbursed when/if you know for sure you can go.
I know cost is an issue for some, and I found another house in the same area that's not a mansion like the other one, but still really nice and works out to $46/night per person (including cleaning fees, taxes, service fee, etc.) if there are twelve guests total.
ETA: I will C and P this to the GTG thread also, just putting it here because I thought more people would see it this way

@cagolid I'm a maybe. I have to see what's going on at work. Some things are developing right now and if I get the new job I don't know if I can take time off. Yep, makes sense. I know it's hard to tell with some situations and for some people it will just not work, but we'll hopefully make this happen semi-regularly so everyone eventually gets to go. I feel like enough people said they could for sure, and a handful of maybes, I better pull the trigger! With so many of us trying to coordinate I know we're never going to find a time that works for everyone, every year. |

flamingo, that's promising about the YMCA program. They had many different themes to choose from, several of which I think my kids would love. They are already dreading going to camp next week. It's led by a hardcore eastern European type lady. She reminds me of what I imagined my grandpa's parents were like based on the no-nonsense pictures I've seen. Cass especially needs someone more warm and inviting. Plus they were supposed to practice their TKD forms and they didn't do any of that. We have some ideas in mind of how to make it more enjoyable for the girls and everyday we can we will drop them off at the later end of the drop-off window and pick-up at the early end so the days are shorter.

Work was nuts today but I had a planned lunch with coworkers and although I wanted to cancel, I went and was glad I did. I’m off tomorrow. Max and I are both getting haircuts. We are picking up C at school and headed right to the Cape for the weekend. I’m excited for something new but not excited about traffic. Getting on and off Cape is the absolute worst.

Also that house I wanted to rent next summer- she tried to up the price $100 a night! I found another place but I’m waiting for the owner to see if the dates work. Fingers crossed.
